This is where i was at about a month ago. Since then ive done a few things; - Cut the mounts off Corolla cross member. - Taken exhaust manifolds off to be modified. - Cleaned engine, free of oil, grime, dust ect.. - Chopped the wires i wont need BUT I'm still after a T5 5 speed commodore box. Here are a couple of pictures. Hope you enjoy. Please give me any tips, advice, warnings, comments or what have you =)

I'm after a T5 commodore box and belhousing if anyone knows of any? The wrecker wants way too much for them.. Also if anyone believes it won't fit on the gearbox tunnel of the corolla, let me know. I've tried finding a supra box and modified bellhousing but I can't get hold of 1 easily. If I do come across 1 they are really expensive. Cheers guys

Got a set of VN struts tonight, haven't had a chance to look at them yet. Got a TA22 celica rear end on the way from WA. Wouldn't mind finding a W58 gearbox but looked everywhere and can't find one. If anyone has one or knows of one, don't hesitate to let me know Cheers fellas Mark.

SOLD!

Just wondering where everyone is finding these ra40 and ta22 front struts in tassie?
-
It wouldn't pass with the turbo set up but with standard 2tc he said it would pass. I swapped the running gear into a ke30 which I sold yesterday
-
Okay so I bought a 3.8 v6 with computer and loom for the rolla yesterday. Doesn't have a gearbox at the moment though. Was thinking of either a Holden t5 or maybe a Toyota w58 with an modified bellhousing? Probably a welded diff under it (won't be road registered) Seam weld areas under most stress. Might have a crack at making up some bracing for front end, behind front guards. Take interia out except for front seats until I get sone racing seats and harnesses. Most likely have to shorten the tailshaft. Hopefully modify some commodore front struts to suit the corolla. But first thing will be to take all of the unnecessary gear off the 3.8, may get the planum lasercut for more flow. I'll get the engine sitting in the engine bay, make up some mounts and sit it in. Got a good mate that is an auto electrician by trade who is more than happy to wire it up for me. Anyway if you have any tips, advice, comments or thoughts let me know! Cheers everyone Mark.

Hey Guys i'm after the brake line from engine bay to diff, including rubber hose and the t piece that bolts to the diff. Brake line is for a KE30/KE55 corolla. Reply via rollaclub.com or text message me on 0429 591 435. Very desperate. Cheers, Mark.

Hi Guys, i'm really in need of something. Not sure of its technical name but.. I mainly need the "T piece" blake line splitter that is bolted to the diff housing of a KE55/KE30. Also, if possible, the whole brake line (from engine bay to the diff) including the rubber hose closer to the diff. I live in Burnie and it seems although the wreckers aren't interested in old rollas. Reply via rollaclub or send me a text message on 0429 591 435. Thanks everyone. Cheers, Mark.

Nothing against the 4AGE but can i ask why? Apart from the 4AGE being in the Toyota family, they are way over used and i'm glad that people are actually going for the beams engine and 3RZ. In my opinion the 4AGE engine is only used for its name. don't hold me to this but i'd say its one of the most known 1600 engines around. It is a little over rated. Anyway, sorry if i've offended anyone but thats just my opinion. Cheers, Mark

Who's splitter are you reffering to?
-
Bloody good idea.. Although, i'm highly considering putting a 3.8L VN with a dogbox in the KE55 The engine, box, computer and loom will set me back $350 off a mate which i think is pretty good. The actual conversion doesnt look too hard and i'm fairly handy with a welder so the engine mounts shouldnt bee too much of a problem.. These are all just ideas at the moment though....

I went into Autobarn on Sunday and i suprised the guy that works there, he didnt believe me that the VN shocks are the same as the KE30/55 rear shocks, so i told his to look them up and vwala identical part numbers. The only thing i can't understand is the price difference. Corolla rear shocks - $119.00 on sale this week only. Commodore shocks - $144.50 RRP Shouldnt they both be on sale as they have identical part numbers? You'd think the barcode would read the same? Anyway i'm confuzzled now If i owned a commonwhore, i'd be buying the corolla ones only cause i'm cheap :blinks: Cheers, Mark.

So maybe the wrecker that has had these TA22 front struts for the past 18 months all of a sudden doesnt have them anymore, he put them inside a car that just got crushed :blinks: goodbye my brake upgrade =(

Okay, so its been a while since i've updated this thread.. The KE55 has been sitting out the back for a long time now with no engine in it. I resprayed the body, tidied the interior. Its pretty much a complete car minus engine and rego. So my question is, what is EVERYONES thoughts on what i should do to/with it? I wanna get it going again but i want it to be a bit different to the average corolla Cheers, Mark.. can't wait for everyones input....
-
This is going to be/already is a mad car! i love it... cheers, Mark.

Thats why i went with the 2T. To be different. Still sounds like a K series in my opinion. Just like the 4Ks older brother :blinks:
