  1. Got a complete KE55 full of parts. All interior, all glass, seats, windscreens, doors, 4K with 5 speed box, Monza racing seats with KE30/KE55 rails attached ready to install.   2. Cheers for the heads up Si, i also didn't know that the KE55 drums are bigger than the KE30 drums, but they are a fair bit bigger. I cleaned out the corolla today, gave it a wash (really quick wash lol) I've got some Monza racing seats with the standard KE55/30 seat rails on them in the shed that i put together when i had my very 1st rolla about 3-4 years ago. They are the red and black style ones. I know that doesn't describe them very well lol. I want to put them in but i don't know if they'll make my car look "try hard-- ish"?? Give me your thoughts everyone

  5. Car is running well now. Went for a cruise through the hills with my mate, he was in his 2L Ford Escort. My car didn't play up once. I'll gets some picures next time we go for a cruise together. Was a really good drive. Just need a few more cars next time and it'll be even better. I'll be swapping the KE55 struts into it soon just for the better suspension and brakes. Cheers.

  8. Well its been a while since i posted. I have been driving the car a bit lately, it goes good. Apart from needing a lift pump and a surge tank, if anyone has one at a good price let me know :jamie: Does anyone know how to up the psi on my CT20? It seems as though the rod on my wastegate is stuck, either stuck open or closed? I can't move it with my hand, not sure if that is normal or not? Any help would be greatly appreciated :P Cheers, Mark.

  10. G'day mate hows it going? I found that the only way that i could get my wheels off was to put a crowbar/thin piece of solid pipe through one of the holes in your wheel, and simply lever it off. Not really sure why they get stuck? Guess its surface rust or someting. Anyway hope this helps, let me know how you get on :jamie: Cheers, Mark
  11. Hey mate, really good write up. I'm sure that this is going to help alot of people out, including myself. I've still got standard brakes in my KE30 which now has a 2TC turbo in it lol. For now i'll just upgrade to ke55 front struts and brakes, only because i've got spares. i'm assuming they're bigger. Anyway, great job. Well done, Mark. :yes:

  13. Cleaned the car up a fair bit lately. Going to go over the interior with my carpet cleaner. (carpet is only 6 months old) i just wanna keep it in good condion. Look after it = Might last longer. Also going to give it a thorough wash tomorrow. Thats about it so far,
  14. Haha thats a good thought. But don't give me too many ideas :P Its all in and going well it was leaning out heaps on high revs this morning so i adjusted the FPRR and its all go now :blush: Thats all for now.
  15. I also changed the shocks over while i was at it. The KE30 shocks were on their way out. Anyway here are some pics, Banjo diff out Borg warner in 2T in, looks a bit messy but i still have to tidy it up a bit Dash, old school toyota steering wheel CD player, Boost guage and a cracked dash lol KE70 centre console Back passanger side door has completely rusted out at the bottom. Hence the door skin no longer attached to the skeleton of the door :) Tell me what you thinks guys Cheers
  16. There are some holes in the chassis but they are no where near the sway bar mounts which sucks a bit. I'll put some pics up of it now.
  17. The borg warner diff is in now, i have to find another rubber brake hose that goes from the metal tube to the adaptor on the diff. because i had to cut 1 off and i accidently stripped my other one. Oh well its all in time
  18. OK! I bought an angle grinder yesterday cut the pedal box out, took the master cylinder back out and put new studs in for it to bolt onto :wink: Engine is going everything is working fine except for 1 small detail that i may have overlooked? The tailshaft yolk has been sitting in the back of the gearbox for a week or so just so that no oil leaks out. But it was not actually bolted to the diff. Today i was about to bolt it in and the KE55 tailshaft universal joint is round and the KE30 uni joint is rectangular. Problem is, i need the KE30 universal joint on the KE55 tailshaft so that it all bolts up nicely. (My tailshaft is shortened by 25mm) Universal joints are different in each one :bash: Any soloutions? Apart from swapping the whole rear end? Can i swap the flange over? Or do the diffs have a different spline on the pinion shaft? :hmm: Any help would be greatly appreciated :y:
  19. Sorry for the late reply Simon, Went up to Bridport on Saturday night with my girlfriend for Valentines day, didn't get back home until today. It was really good up there though. Anyway,., i had the same problem with my old primered corolla. The starter wouldn't crank over and after having a look in the engine bay i found a wire near the coil that needed to be put back on and also i must have forgotten to put an earth strap on. After i put the earth strap on it worked. don't know how or why it wouldn't start but anyway i guess it was something there somewhere. I still can't find my little angle grinder anywhere to cut the pedal box out a little bit. :) I know where my 9inch grinder is, but i think its too big to do the job lol
  20. I think i have 3 on there. Is that enough? I sorted out the problem. Someone in the past has put new connections on just about everything in the wiring loom. So i pretty much had to re wire and put connections on that would clip into the existing wires. Fairly complicated really lol Exhaust is on now, engine bay is finished off. Now i've just got to modify the pedalbox (Cut about an inch out) So that the modified clutch pedal will fit in for the clutch master cylinder. Check engine oil levels, fill gearbox with oil, bleed the clutch master then hopefully i'll be ready to drive :wink: Why the question about the earth straps Si?
  21. Well i'm not sure but but i was going 130-140kmph in 3rd? i was reving it out for quite some time? Do you know why my engine DOES crank over but my ignition lights/ indicators/ headlights and stuff don't work? Thanks for all the info Simon
  22. Ok i put the K radiator in it yesterday. Today i'm working on putting the intercooling in, i don't wanna chop the apron up but i think i'm going to have to because the R31 cooler is pretty fat. I can't afford a different one atm :( I really hope the Corolla will be ready but if not, there will always be another time??? Yeah i heard that the drags were getting really boring thats why i never bothered going out there. About to go out and put the exhaust on and fuel pump in. Simon, i don't need a surge tank and lift pump do i? I have driven the blue corolla with the t engine in it a fair bit (Up country highways and back streets) and i don't think it had any problems with the fuel? Cheers
  23. A Drag? Hmm lol Fark yeah! I'm definatly in if my car/engine is up to it. You'll beat the shit out of mine though. :) I've never even been to the drags, not even to watch :blush: Actually i wonder what sort of power its got? What sort of times it'd get? I think there is heaps of torque behind it so its probably more of a skid bus. The other day in the dry= 1st, 2nd and 3rd burnout/slide but i was a bit worried as i don't know what the borg warner is capable of? The KE30 only has a banjo not sure but i think the borg is stronger? Thats what i have read anyway. 2T is in, cross member in, and tailshaft on. now need to wire up fuel pump, put hydraulic clutch pedal in then... bleed the clutch components. Next put intercooler on;; hate cutting into the front of the car. But yea Simon (thats your name isn't it?) will a Excel/Scoupe 1.6L radiator be better for cooling than the standard 4K radiator running this engine? I'm just wondering because there is a spare one in the shed. I lined it all up and it dosen't look hard at all to adapt the pipes! Then just make some mounts for it? Although my KE30 radiator looks almost brand new? its got like 1 dent in it the size of 5c peice or smaller and it just looks new lol Pictures up soon.... Thanks buddy

Yeah mate thats exactly why i wanna swap it over, blue '55 isn't registered :) When i first got it i took it for a drive and thats exactly what was happening, then i figured that it might be the jet in the secondries. So i went out and got a bigger brand new jet for the total cost of $3.90 :) It had a 140 in both, the primary and the secondry. Now it has a 140 in primary which seems good, no problems. And a 190 (From memory) in the secondries. You've helped me with the 2T alot mate, your knowledge is the only thing that has actually allowed me to start the bloody engine. :) So once again thanks heaps Si. Anywho i took the 4K out last night, today the 2T goes in. Need to find my hole saw to cut a hole for the hydraulic master cylinder. Most probably have to go out and buy one :laff: I'll take some pictures and keep you posted :) Cheers everyone.
  25. Yeah mate thats the engine. In my opinion i don't think there is much wrong with it but if anyone knows anything about it that needs to be fixed then i'm all ears lol Thanks guys
