  2. We went to Winton last weekend with 3 toyota club teams. We took the 92 with the gze. Here is a vid from some of the early laps with me at the wheel http://youtu.be/boOUSd4XoM4
  3. Be a good race now with our 92 4agze as it too does a 1.45 round Winton. I reckon I can get it into the 44's though now its running bigger brakes since the last visit.
  4. bloody hell seemed like it rolled it so easy, didnt look like a hard landing
  5. hey mitch this thing is really taking shape I'll have to come down the workshop and check it out. We are still in USA and flying home tonight which will be tomorrow 2 days in the future for you back home.
  6. we run the same alignment specs on our 92 track car. Works well and makes it drivable on the throttle.
  7. no just swapped it out, I'll see if we still have it, probablly just chucked it in the bin
  8. the local CV specialist repairs shop found it was worn when they put new cv joints in. I think they built it up probably with a welder....but i'm only guessing
  9. we had the same thing in our hub on the ae92. Should have replaced it instead of having it built up as it failed at a winton day, so get one from the wreckers instead of repairing.
  10. sounds like you need better tyres on your 4gze mine does 1.45 at winton
  11. no trophies just bragging rights
  12. its timed event with groups of cars of similar speed on the track at one time. You get 15mins per session and about 5/6 sessions
  13. We'll be at the next Tampered day with a few other blokes from Wagga. Any forum members going?
  14. Wakefield was a top weekend of motorsport. Snapped the end off the driveshaft on the 82 in the 3rd session on Sunday and on the very first corner of the very last lap my mate put the 92 into the sand trap at about 160kph. All caputered on video for your amusement :)
  15. Put some new stickers on the 82 in preparation for the event, I think they don't look too bad.
  16. Cars are ready to race starting with qualifying on Saturday for the race on Sunday
  17. jimi91 are you in the Ballat car club?
  18. nooo you should be going for longest thread about 1 car ever on here :)
  19. well we've been racing our 82 4age bigport for 3yrs now and have just had the engine rebuilt for the 2nd time (got ripped off with a dodgy first time) and have just upgraded from peddars suspension to bazda coilovers. Our car also has a kazzar lsd. Tyres will give you the biggest performance boost for your buck, but the down side is the stickier they get the quicker they wear out so the cost is ongoing. For me the Advans were have been the best tyre and we've tried a few including the 888s. Our engine has the biggest cams you can go with standard ecu, extractors, bored out, h-beam rods and a smallport crank (got bigger journals). Its delievering 200psi compression and it revs out to 8k no problem. If you want it rebuilt mitch from on the forums here did the rebuild and we're really happy wth his work. Consider a 20v including gbox with lsd as i think that might be an effective upgrade as an option.
  20. 450000km on the bottom end and he took 60" off the head if a recipe for massive blow by.
  21. compression test the engine coz if its stuffed its not going to be cheap to pull out and rebuild if you can't do it yourself. $400 max else spend the bit extra for a more decent, lower km (fresher engine) car. Sometimes your cheapest expense is your first.
  22. In our local club there is a ke with a superchaged holden V6, sounds like a v8 at times and goes hard. http://youtu.be/SPtxnOm91RQ
  23. agree with dumping the gay stripes and bumpers and going stock look. The 20valves go good do you intend to do any track days with it?
