  1. The water pump wasn't in good nick and the colour of the coolant wasn't to great so I'll end up getting the block flushed, changing the crank pulley isn't difficult either. I'd rather put the engine in and not worry about having to pull it apart again to do the ports and what not.
  2. And a new record for most people being online at once at over 3000 which I think smashed the previous record.
  3. Was so hoping to start this update with a positive note but I just stripped a thread in the block for the cylinder head so won't be doing anything with this until I get a helicoil put in. I guess one good thing is I finished porting the head out using a die grinder at work to get rid of the bulk of the material and the dremel to smoothen them out....soooo wanted it in the car tonight though...... :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:
  4. Said earlier that I was bringing my dads camera.....just f@$ked a thread in my new block by doing a epic fail with reading the torque wrench wrong, am going to sprints in the morning to see if they carry a helicoil kit but I highly doubt it so will need to be picked up. Just rock up whenever man I'm good anyway, Cheers.
  5. How late can I leave it for you to pick me up man, finishing off the head porting and the installation tonight and tomorrow morning so....

    Spotted

Spotted a pretty sweet white ke55 on gold mesh rims (I think) at BP regency park at about 10:30am today.
  7. I umm may have looked too much into it, have a look and see what you think: Jono
  8. Hey guys, have got the 5k motor sitting in my (dads) shed right now and have pulled the 3k out ready for the 5k to be dropped in. I being an idiot had taken out the 3k before looking at the 5k and some gaskets need replaced, going to swap the waterpumps over aswell and pictured below is the start of some home head porting work. Rang a place on Brighton road about getting it matched to the inlet manifold and also putting in bigger valves but they said $600 and decided it's not really worth it, so gonna do it myself. Piccies   Block and G.box not much to look at but: My new pistons :lolcry: :lolcry: :lolcry: This is what I've done so far with the head porting (the second inlet is the one that I've started). Did this with a dremel tool but going to try a die grinder tomorrow see if it's a bit quicker. Hopefully have the headporting done by tomorrow night and will try and get the Block and gearbox in tomorrow aswell.....Am so happy aswell that the gearbox mounts line up so perfectly. Jono. Oh just remembered gotta do some new wiring aswell...list keeps getting longer :bash: but  aswell
  9. Here it is, I can make the rims bigger and tint the windows if you want.....
  10. Yeah I read this... but got bored and just did what I thought was right :lolcry: :lolcry: Jono. Might just go round the forum and lower everyone's car for the hell of it.....
  11. I use patience..... It pays off.....sometimes
  12. A guy called JiP gets them.....I think that's his nick
  13. Hey....ummmm.....yeah.....I said I would be 5k'ing it up but doesn't look good at the moment, going to get the head ported on monday and do some wiring tomorrow and i don't think i'll be getting the head back before wednesday...fingers crossed though ;)
  14. My first attempt, sorry no whitewalls on it but eh:
  15. .....I will let you know what a half decent 5k goes like in a couple of days :lolcry: :lolcry: ......(sorry just really excited for upcoming 5k action)
  16. I'd just install a relay that open circuits the headlight circuit (fuse) when the ignition is off. Was thinking of doing the same thing cause used to drive to work when it was dark then arrive when it was light. Said jaycar unit : http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=KC5317&keywords=headlight&form=KEYWORD
  17. pot holes yes, 4wd's no I disagree..... WGMG - Being told to get a job done that doesn't end up needing to be finished so soon.....unneeded stress :bash: Also WGMG - Adelaide drivers...peak hour traffic "oh it's a green light hmmm what to do now, I know I'll just sit here, no that's not right hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm oh lets accelerate really slowly and not give a f@$k about 7 million people behind me wanting to get through dodgely timed traffic lights (there probably timed right but not right for me!) then stop accelerating at 50km/h" Also WGMG - People that turn right from a left hand lane overpass turnoff with their left hand indicator on, I mean come on people the indicator stalk is 1 f@$king inch from your left/right hand. (and yes this has been in a movie but I can still use it) Also WGMG - People that have their foot on the brake almost all the time, even while accelerating and no it's not a broken brake light switch it's morons driving behing the wheel.
  18. The clutch line is heating up due to the amount of current used to start the motor. When people say needs a new earth they mean you need to run a better negative cable from the battery to the car body and another one from the body to the block of the motor.
  19. I'm considering doing this myself in the not to distant future as the original system has only a couple of relays where I would like most of my circuits to be controlled by them. Even doing it myself will be expensive cause the fuseboxes that you see in newer cars can be up to $300-400 (just for the little box thing that holds them), then cabling/relays/terminals/plugs on top of that aswell. ke70dave has said everything that's needed to be said...the main question is why you want to do it?0 The reason I mean (Not having a go at you).
  20. I'll bring my dads.....bit unsure if i'll be 5k'ing it by then but fingers crossed :)
  21. There's an oval on Candy's road in Happy Valley, don't know if it will be busy or not and it's a little more south than the park. But there's bit of parking there and some shaded area or there's Tangari....
  22. Don't wanna give this one away but this http://www.google.com.au/images?um=1&hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-GB%3Aofficial&biw=1920&bih=929&tbs=isch%3A1&sa=1&q=eleanor&aq=f&aqi=g10&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai= but with ghosted stripes.
