And the timing should be sweet cause I did it about 3 weeks ago and can't see why it should have changed. -
Missing At Idle And Occasionally Under Load

Nah, can't afford to and I'd rather give it a bash myself. I'll change the points anyway and see whats next... -
Hey all, my car has had a bit of a miss at idle for a while but I didn't think much of it and figured I'd sort it out when it got worse. Well, it got worse and now it sometimes dies at idle, so the choke has been used to keep her happy. Misses severly at idle and sometimes when accelerating it'll miss causing some harsh surges. When highbeams are put on the idle speed drops and the misses are more frequent. I jumped it to my olds landcruiser to see if it was a weak battery and it wasn't, could be connections though possibly I guess. Leads & Plugs are fine, so I figure it must be the contact breaker points or coil? Is my reasoning right? Or any other possibilities? Any tips on how to determine what it is? If its the points, how hard are they to change, is it doable without taking the dizzy off the engine? Btw its a KE70 with stock 4k. Thanks

How Many Km's Can You Get Out Of A 4k??
Killswitch replied to JiP's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Last tank I did 8.7L/100 K, tank before was 9L/100K tank before that was 10L/100K. And I didn't think I changed my driving style too much, so I dunno. Only thing is haven't really been strapping it out cause the clutch is a bit fubar so thats probably it. More relaxed driving due to clutch. :) edit: KE70 with stock un reco 4K 170 thou on motor and K40 behind it. -
I made up a 'tacho' in microsoft excel for this purpose. My tacho didn't arrive ( :lolcry: ) so I improvised. so I know in what gear at what revs what speed I'll be doing. So my speedo is my tacho. For example: I know redline in first is 45k, in second is 75, third is 115, and well... I don't know 4th of my head cause I'm normally not going that quick buuut... itsss 165! and when I get my 5 spd it'll be 194! yay :)

Good ol wikipedia! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corvette_leaf_springs Didn't know such a thing as transverse leaves existed, interesting stuff.
-
doesn't the new vette still come with leaves or something weird? And it's meant to handle ok too I thought? They're old technology, but it works!

Yay for bribery? :monkey:

After some on going discussions with the olds, I've pretty much decided to do year 12 over two years. Means I can do more work out side of school and not have the pressure, and take my 5 highest scoring subjects at the end of the 2 year period to get the highest TER. Go Go the system. And an extra year of perving won't go astray me thinks. :monkey:
-
I'm currently in year 12, and it blows goats. I could just cruise through all the other years getting an easy 80%, however this year it ain't the same and I'm suffering badly. At this rate I'm probably going back next year. I don't have the focus or give a shit to actually put in the effort to get f@$k all back. /emo But seriously, It's such a wank. Year 12 higher level english is the biggest circle jerk, so pointless and subjective. Gah.

I think it was mentioned in the other thread, but how much are these worth? $120 odd? or was that new? :lmao:
-
woooah, just did a refresh and vwualla all good :lmao: :D :D :D
-
alright I have. But still, no workies. Firefox maybe? Do I enter a numbe with area code infront and if so spaces or brackets or anything. I've tried a few ways and it doesn't like me. I'm not a very good stalker!
-
gah, I suck at the interweb. If I enter my phone number and postcode it chucks the shits. and puts that message. If I do name and suburb it does the same. etc etc. eh, I'll fight it agian tomorrow.
-
I keep getting What am I doing wrong? :lmao:
-
Why wasn't that in the FAQ! :D edit: actually, it was if I read between the lines :lmao:
-
I would get a ke70 K50 if I could find one and, if when I did find one it was a reasonable price. The wreckers up here have 4spds and an auto or two. Haven't found a 5spd Ke70 wreck yet :)
-
Hmmm, righto. Might need some extra expendable workers then :) Not too challenging though from the sounds of it and another gear will come in handy. Cheers If anyone else has anything to add, that'd be sweet.

I read in the FAQ that this conversion requires re-cutting of the shifter hole. I was just wondering if someone could post some pics of before and after positions, and what was required to do so. Also, if anyone has a KE55 box in there KE70 could you tell me if its worth it in regards to the change in driving position? Is it better to hang out for a KE70 K50? And is it possible to make a set of linkages so that the shifter can still come through the original hole without hacking? Sorry for the noob questions, just been meaning to get around and pick some stuff up from adam but need to clarify this stuff first! Thanks in advance!
