^yeah man come check it out, I'm usually in Bangalow during the week. I'm coming to check out your car some day soon as well. So today at work, instead of working I went and found the parts I needed to finish of my exhaust and intake: I've also modified an AE82 4AGE air box, using parts from a VS Commodore air box, to sit in the corner where the overflow bottle used to be. It looks pretty neat, I'll post up a picture when I go back home.

^lol This morning I sorted out the hunting issue, I can't believe I didn't realise this earlier, I knew about this part of the idle-up system but just completely skipped over it. Throttle body off: The cause of the problem(the cold-start/idle-up thingy): The solution: New gaskets made up and the blanking plate installed: Me and my friend took it for another drive, it goes pretty good. Not quite as fast as I was expecting but it's still very fun.

Cheers. Yes I'm eager to get the twin lights and chrome bumper on there. We'll have to get both the cars on a cruise Dave ;)

Just drove this thing for the first time, YEAH BOI! It was so much fun, can't wait to get it registered. However the exhaust is very loud, it's a mandrel bent 2" system with a cat, hot dog and straight through muffler. I think a dumpy tip might help, either that or I go to a reverse flow/dogleg muffler.
  9. FIXED IT! It wasn't air in the coolant. I had blocked off all the water lines into the throttle body, and all the vacuum lines, but for some reason I had forgot about the cold-start/wax pellet thing. And since there was no hot coolant flowing through the throttle body to melt the wax pellet, the cold-start port was constantly open, meaning when it got hot it was getting too much air and started hunting. ʞ©$ɟ YEAH SO HAPPY!
  10. WGMG: My 4AGE keeps hunting at idle. But only once it's warm? I think it may be air in the cooling system but I've tried multiple times to bleed it and it's still doing it. GRRRRRRRRR!
  11. WHY WOULD YOU EVER INSTALL AN IMMOBILISER! But seriously, I'd start by checking the ignition barrel for power with a multimeter/test light, and if you're not getting power there, the only thing that should fail before that is the fusible links. Everything in the car (except for the headlights and main power to starter motor [power to starter solenoid comes through fusible links]) draws power through the fusible links. Eg. If you go to the back of the ignition barrel and hold a test light/mutlimeter on the terminal marked ACC, and then you turn the key to ACC and you don't get a reading, the fusible link up near the positive on the battery has failed. And you should just be able to follow that process the whole way through the wiring until you find the problem. Here's the engine section of a KE diagram to help you:

  17. While we're on this topic; the thing that has been grinding my gears since I first heard someone use it incorrectly a couple of years ago is the term "JDM". Since when has JDM been a "style"? Like people will lower a car, install roof racks and wide wheels and then call it JDM. That doesn't make any sense? Edit: I feel as if I've had this rant before.

Surprise! I made the drive out to Toowoomba today to see Stenzel (thanks again man  ), checked out his 4AGE KE70 wagon and picked up the lights and bumper pictured. The bumper has a bit of surface rust coming through the chrome unfortunately, but I can live with that.
  20. To the guy who owned this before you:
  21. What I was thinking!
  22. Love it!
  23. It was a FWD loom, but I removed all the tape and conduit and then rearranged it as best I could without shortening or extending any wires, then I taped it all back up and fitted some new conduit. It seems to fit reasonably well, it would have fitted better if I shortened/extended some parts of the loom but it was too much work.
  24. Please tell us what it is!
