Just seems that every time there is a meet, I'm working! At the moment there are 7 cars at my house. 4 Toyotas...Dave's KE38 has landed! 1 Honda 1 Suzuki and the Valiant! The postie to top it off. Ok, there are pros and cons to this thread. My 2 cents. 15 years ago I was driving my old '76 civic ...maybe a little too hard. Light turns orange and I gunned it on a right hand turn. A TMU bike copper pulls me up. Tells me my rear tyres broke traction. Ok, the smartarse comes out and points out, it's FWD. Not possible. I was still an apprentice mechanic and in stinking work clothes. He's not having anything to do with this and goes on a mission to find 3 faults so he can give me a canary/defect. He finds Front parkers not working Drivers seat belt not locking... I was more shocked than he was and his question..."who fitted the carby"? Answer "Honda". so he said "Don't be a smartarse, who fitted the air cleaner" (after market)? Answer "I did". So 3 faults. Went to work, got a new seat belt, factory air cleaner and fixed the front parkers. New RWC. Got the canary/defect removed and then got a letter from the EPA for a test because of the air cleaner. Tuned the car to an inch of it's life. Went to the EPA and the first thing they checked was the compliance plate. Car was a 2/76 and ADR27A the emission ADR came out in 7/76. Simple compliance. Tested the car at idle and stated it was better than a lot of new cars. Oscilloscope tuning! After all that, I was called to court and fined $300 bucks and 3 points for careless driving. So yeah, don't be a smartarse, but if I meet that copper again.....watch out. Bamboo

I spy my favourite accessory....roofracks. Oh, and I've finally fitted my new engine. Smooth as silk! Love it.

Strip the tyres and go to one of the pimping places that polish mags. easy. As for the manual, don't rush. But i've had auto 6's. cool, but a manual is insane. Worth every bit of the effort. If your worried about electrics, I'm only a PM away. Not hard, just requires a little "think" time. Can't wait to see your rolling brothel. Bamboo.

I think you've made a mistake. In naming the beast that is! I christen thee the SEEDY. Good work on moving up in the world E. The only mod it needs is to get those 15's polished. Will look overrated. I love injected toyotas. Oh, and keep a look out for a manual conversion!

I've inherited the civic back from my sister. I'll take some photos soon that will make you cry. She's really run down now. Mechanicals are still overrated, but the paint is shagged. Luckily centre road has delivered. I've sourced: Full rip free vinyl interior crack free dash drivers door and guard manual conversion. This is my new winter project. I don't wanna poo poo toyotas, but a ohc 1200cc car that weighs 680kgs still flys. Look out for it next spring on the car runs. Bamboo

Try mitsubishi colt or series 2 hyundai excel. they bolt to the frame and were a great replacement on my ke50 liftback.

Some of the links on this site are broken, still there are some useful bits on it. Some of this can be found in other places, but there is some good gearbox & x member info. Check the concept cars! Enjoy Boo http://members.iinet.net.au/~stepho/index.html

Hard work and extremely dirty. Did the occasional puncture repair in workshops. I considered this job before my apprenticeship. I asked the opinion of a mechanic I'd done work experience with. His reply, "a job for those recently released from prison". *note* the opinion expressed here is not my opinion, just the opinion of a 50 year old bloke, 20 years ago!.

+ 1 Seppos give me the shits at the best of times. This ain't the best of times. Only nice thing of late. Telstra actually giving something back. Free calls to Japan until the 25th.

That was awesome. Nothing IS Real.

Personally, I haven't a clue. I've got a KE20 engine with auto laying around including nippon starter. I was planning to put it in my brothers KE35, which has a Bosch. Let us know what you find.
