I \may be wrong, there may be more, but from what I've seen, there are 2 types. The stubby type, nippondenso The long type, Bosch. Apart from the drive gear, it's the same as a holden 6 starter. Which is why they are a nightmare to fit onto the k motor.

Mrs Bamboo thinks she married the wrong tool. But alas, Mrs Bamboo is JDM spec!

Cool. On that advice, you can't interchange. Boo

I haven't played with 5ks but 3&4ks don't have a harmonic balancer. They have a crank pulley. I imagine it's the same with a 5k. Difference? A harmonic balancer has a rubber ring between the fan belt ring and the inner circle that bolts to the crank. It's used to absorb some of the harmonics (twist) in the crank, hence the name. Seen mostly in 6 and V8 engines. 4cyls don't usually use 'em, 'cause the crank isn't long enough to warrant it. Yes, there are exceptions. But I believe the small capacity K motors wouldn't require it. So, changing crank pulleys shouldn't be a problem. If you were concerned, get the crank pulley balanced. Boo

On thursday night I pulled out of a carpark near Dandenong Road & Springvale road. Behind me comes a Kia Rio. Yeah my car is nanna spec and I wasn't going fast, but my rio friend flashed the lights and abuse! Naturally I reacted in the Bamboo way. I jammed on the brakes and more heat. He thought he'd be tuff and chase me down. I started the chase around the estate! He got in front of me and tried to predict my turns. Fail. He then spent 20+ minutes in pursuit around the estate! He wasn't going to give up! But, he couldn't drive for toffee! I kept rallying around I stripped my club lock ready for confrontation. Not required. It may not be fast, but I can still turn!!! Slipped down a side street!! Bamboo

LOL!!!! No it isn't chain driven either. Like mine there is ALOT of wheel arch. KE30 running gear in a slightly wider car. Yes, ready for GOR. I just took some camping gear out of the troopy.

Found a KE50 on Yahoo. cool to see the JDM spec. http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h149815726 I so want the wind deflectors on the doors. I also noticed it doesn't have a tacho dash, or the SR5/T18 wheels. As it isn't a liftback, the exhaust exits on the left. Unlike my stupid thing. Now I'm on the lookout for a square tailpipe end! I think my front guards are safe. Although fender mirrors look the business, they can be a little tricky in traffic. I wish I had a place to lay this to one side in Japan and strip it. It's a thousand bucks! Anywayz, I can always dream. Bamboo

I don't disagree, just wanted to do something different. I've got an all over shot, and yeah maybe dark is better. It's not like I can't do it again! But they'll stay like that for a while. Also been giving head today. And then lapping it up. Bamboo

Although I much prefer it when they pop the falsies out.

staying on stilts. Granny all the way!

Forgot to add, If the water pump seal isn't new or near new, when you adjust it, it will bloody leak. Usually replace the pump when doing a belt. Also, a camira pump won't fit, as the pump nose is too long. Good luck.
-
Thanks TRD Kinda hard to tell what he needs. Ok, cam gear mark should be at the top, aligned with the mark (funnily enough) For the crank, dummy fit the pulley and align the timing mark with the pointer, at 2 o'clock. Adjust with the water pump. Correct tension is when the belt can be turned 90 degrees, halfway between the camshaft and water pump. Bamboo

Simple. I've had some practice at this. Put a paper clip into the A & B terminal to bridge it in the diagnostic plug. From memory, one wire is black & the other white. (collingwood). This put the computer into self diagnostic mode. Thermos come on and the ECM light on the dash flashes. You can also check the engine fault codes. Now set timing as per normal 10 deg BTDC. I've had a couple of these. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/44080-the-blood-blister/page__p__459891__hl__pulsar__fromsearch__1#entry459891

When I cleaned up the T18 rims i realised they were a dark silver colour I ended up painting the rims body colour, a lighter shade of silver 'cause I had the paint laying around...and I'm a tight arse. :rolls: Got the tyres fitted and put them on today. When bolting up the fronts, I found they hit the calliper, just. I had to do something I didn't like doing. I ground off the lip on the calliper. Was only a couple of mills and should't affect the calliper. It's jammed up in the drive way so I took a teaser shot. Oh, and I can already hear the suggestions of lower it etc. Trust me, it is highly unlikely that'll happen!!

Very quick question? Why rebel? Bamboo
