  1. irokin, adding to the wish list. Is it possible to create a "filter" in 'rolla club rides? By this I mean, if I'm looking at someone's thread/build could I just filter for the original creators posts? I'm all for the support posts and advice, but if I'm cruising someone's 16 page build up, is it possible just to see their updates? I believe it'd make some of the subjects read more fluid. Oh, and I'm freakin' lazy! Bamboo
  2. 4y from a Tarago is a direct replacement. Some came with EFI
  3. Some other images to have some fun with http://www.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=http://storage.kanshin.com/free/img_48/480594/k1855037539.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.kanshin.com/user/tokyu-hands&usg=__HAFd4haFWJzjJb4EFxMbmm3CRJY=&h=290&w=894&sz=46&hl=en&start=456&sig2=-uvHwhSNwxYO8ZeOkKwc1g&zoom=1&tbnid=N1kJco_OtOgEDM:&tbnh=73&tbnw=225&ei=2v0vTdmNDcmPcdK_vNEH&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dtokyu%2Bhands%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1366%26bih%3D677%26tbs%3Disch:11,14637&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=320&vpy=475&dur=70&hovh=128&hovw=395&tx=220&ty=69&oei=mf0vTZqqCsG9caTHsK4H&esq=32&page=27&ndsp=17&ved=1t:429,r:12,s:456&biw=1366&bih=677 http://www.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=http://www.kohrinbo109.com/topics/upload/HANDS.JPG&imgrefurl=http://www.kohrinbo109.com/topics/2010/10/20101001090000.html&usg=__r-heDHtZI-Lg4WoyY7ql3_FGE_E=&h=374&w=358&sz=27&hl=en&start=916&sig2=gq-gtuHMqAsXgzhTYYj2OQ&zoom=1&tbnid=iz0SIFz1GkLeqM:&tbnh=164&tbnw=157&ei=BP4vTcDoIYqecKbXqLMH&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dtokyu%2Bhands%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1366%26bih%3D677%26tbs%3Disch:11,29525&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=407&oei=6f0vTYj_ONO3cbPMsbIH&esq=14&page=53&ndsp=19&ved=1t:429,r:14,s:916&tx=125&ty=60&biw=1366&bih=677
  4. I've seen this sprinter twice at my local shopping centre. Looks to be someones daily. Wish they'd put a proper mirror on it a least.
  5. So good you couldn't even see them. Nice gold coloured shell with no doors Shitty green coupe with even shittier LH door. Bamboo
  6. Hendo, Fantastic score. Can't wait to see it. Oh, and I LOVE roof racks! Bamboo
  7. It's got my favourite ADM bar. The Corolla bullbar!
  8. To save money and to allow you free choice in tyre selection, consider this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170520362486&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT Bamboo
  9. I agree with ben. It looks cool granny spec. And if you do get your injected 5k, even better!
  10. How did a weber post end up being about Holley? :blinks:
  11. I've rationalised? our regos down to 1900 :blinks: They have to come up with a better system. Two people cannot drive 4 vehicles at once!
  12. Ford = Dirt cheap to fix, 'cause they always need to be fixed. Go Toyota. The car with no warranty that doesn't need a fix. (sorry SLW42) Bamboo
  13. Standard 3k ATM. Will get a kit through it eventually.
  14. I've converted the timing case to bolts, so when Evan gets the shits with his cam, which he already has, I'll grab that.
  15. Point taken. I'm doing a budget build, keeping the job as cheap as possible. I've also got a 20 thou over set of pistons. If I extract a digit one day, I'll build up the motor coming out of the humpback. That'll get a bore, balance and a mild cam grind. This'll just make it reliable.
  16. So I've been taking advantage of the week off, by playing engines. The 4k I put in in july doesn't have a heap of puff. Also has a lovely timing chain rattle on start up when hot. A few months ago I got a set of STD pistons and rings cheap off e-gay. A few weeks ago I picked up a 4k to use as a base. Plan is to keep it standard. Today I heated up the old pistons in sump oil, (using a wok burner) pushed out the gudgeon pins, honed, cleaned, refitted and replaced. On the head, I'm going to put in some new valve stem oil seals, lap the valves and get it skimmed. Then reassemble and should have a nice, tight, slow and reliable POS.
  17. A regular 4k. Sam, I've seen your work and I'm impressed. Sorry about the blur in the second pic. Bamboo
  18. Apologies Sam, I'm in Mulgrave. You're in Endeavour Hills? 4K engine
  19. Jason, thank you for your reply, I'm not starting a war. Atmospheric pressure does not push when it is equalised. Air speed is always required. The faster the better. Remember fuel, spark and air. Google how a plane flies. You can't get away from that principle. No suck/draw = no power! Believe me wikipedia tells me nothing. Laying under cars for countless years has taught me! A 450 on a V8 can make more power when tuned properly. On a 4, you can't ejaculate hard enough to make that type of pressure. Bamboo
  20. To all in Melbourne, I'm aware that I can get a simple valve spring compressor for about 35 bucks. But as it's going to be a one off job, can anyone loan me one for a a few weeks in Jan? I've ordered a valve lapper on e-gay and a VRS kit. I considered spending the 35 bucks but as it's a one off, can anyone help? Bamboo
  21. I'd say yes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venturi_effect The link may be over complicated, but think of it this way. If the engine doesn't have a lot of "suck" (4 cyl), it's unable to get the air past the venturi to make it effective. Then your just pumping fuel with the pump without effect. (rich). Like your garden hose with the spray end. Less water come out but the pressure is enough to make the dog run away. Without the spray end, it's just a leak from the end of the hose. Slightly under carbed is the fuel forcing in as hard as it can. Over carbed is an 80 year old with a prostate problem, getting up in the middle of the night. Just dribbling! Bamboo
  22. as the photo says
  23. Nice work. I like the fact you've gone oldskool on the steering wheel and gear shifter. Full 70's mods. Try and grab a KE35 speedo for the tripmeter. It's a clean machine. Also noticed a shitty KE50 in the background of some of your photos. Congrats on winning a prize on the rolla of the year voting. Boo
  24. Again, thank you so. I feel more enlightened. The question posed was what is the difference in breaks (sic)? I answered, simply KE30 brakes are Japanese and KE55 are Australian. I didn't want to bore people with answering unasked questions. Take care and keep up the good work.
  25. Wow, I never knew that. Thank you so for your input. Were Triumphs and Ramblers assembled at the factory at the same time?
