Ke70 Cutting Out Everytime It Hts A Hill
LINDSAY replied to Max2440's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Have you checked you fuel filter ? take it out and see if you can blow through it , if not or if its hard to blow through replace it and should be sweet. -
hey there all rollaheads , good idea cuzzo i think one of my mates has an AE71 rad. in his garage , i'll check it out . ca18rolla thats the golden word "reliable" , i really like your car by the way must go pretty good . i just received this fuel pump from ebay today EBAY- fuel pump Is this going to pump enough for a lift pump , i'm thinking that the main high pressure pump (255 lph) might be taking more fuel than what this lift pump(75-100 lph) is able to supply to the surge tank , anyone able to set me straight?

Raven's Ke25 Corolla Memorial Rebuild - Now Parting Out
LINDSAY replied to Raven's topic in Rollaclub Rides
Hi Raven , loving your 25 man , looks good. hows the brake upgrage coming along ? i've been following this with some interest cause i'm not far off starting a brake upgrade on my 25 , are you going to change the control arms ( i've heard something about issues with camber with the standard ke25 ones) Just intrested to see which way you go with yours , keep up the good work mate GO THE 25'S Lindsay -
Cat convertor is coming soon when i get the exhaust done , but the charcoal canister i hadn't thought of , do you run the fuel return line through that ? where abouts are you getting engineered at ?
-
Thanks for the comments guys , yeah can't wait to get the beast going . I got busy on the weekend on putting an unleaded filler neck in ( engineering req.) seems a bit silly when you can't even buy leaded fuel anymore . I took the filler neck of a 87-90 Mazda 929 at pick & payless a couple of weeks ago (cost me bout $15) and had to cut it down a bit to join it up to original fuel tank inlet pipe

Good work with the boot retrim Dean , looks really good man .

Nah , i wasn't planning on it .Where it sits right now is sort of reinforced and it is very stiff there too (busted a couple of drill bits getting through)plus i'm trying to stay away from welding as much as possible , my old man has got the welder at his place and we're both pretty average welders anyways . is it an engineering requirement or something?

i had to then finish the cooling system , basically just find some hoses that fit and are the right shape . It got a little bit hard when the bottom hose outlet on the radiator is the oppisite side of where it is on the engine , but a trip down to pick and payless found me a cooling pipe from a mitsubishi colt that i cut down a bit and looks like it'll do the job . Heater hoses needed to be re-routed with a couple of elbow barb fittings put the plenum/manifold on the other day to check if i had clearence from the master cylinder , looks fine for the moment but i think that i might have to go a dual circut m/cyl but i might leave that untill i get to the stage of brake upgrade. so this is what its lookin like at the moment

next thing to get done was the clutch master cylinder needed to be installed , to do that i took some MDF board and made it the shape of the clutch m/cyl flange , then traced around that onto the firewall where i thought it should go and started drilling small holes around where the whole in the middle should be then chiselled between the wholes and enlarged it for the m/cyl to go through . i used an AE71 clutch m/cyl just had to shorten the push rod a bit .

Hello all i have finally got some pics of my work in progress , about february the 3K in my KE25 had just about had enough So i got myself a 16V 4AGE with T50 , it was all setup for RWD (plenum , thermostat , etc) and ripped out the 3K and got to work . First up me and my Dad put the engine in its place with the AE71 mounts that it came with , no go , the mounts were too wide for the brackets on the x-member so we had to get started on making up some custom ones these are the mounts the me & Dad came up with , made from 6mm steel plate . we used MDF board to get the shape of the mount pieces and used them as a template on the 6mm steel , cut the steel shapes out , then while the engine was suspended in place by the engine crane tack welded the various shapes together as these assemblies , then took them to a steel fab place and they welded them properly for me . Got the engine mounted nicely now with just enough room at the back then i noticed the mount was right inline with where the oil filter should be so i had to install a remote mount oil filter setup like this

hey man , it's looking good mate , i just read through the whole thread and sounds like your a bit ahead of mine , i'll have to get my own thread going for my beast soon , got plenty of pic's now . How did the S6 RX7 master cylinder go ? was there enough clearence with the manifold/plenum ? i'm very interested to know , i've still got the stock single circut M/Cyl and i think your right , a single circut ain't gonna do the job . Cheers , Lindsay
-
thanks mate but i think i have it sorted for now , but i may get back to you on it . hows your beast coming along ? ( i'll go have a look at the thread )

the on on the right , goes to the MAP sensor ? i think
-
Hey thanks Medicine_Man , no not confused . so did you need to change the ecu or will they do both MAP and AFM applications? , any benefit of having one or the other ?
-
Hi all , Does anybody know if i can use a AFM loom on a engine that i think is a MAP sensed one ? Basically i bought the engine and the loom from two different sources , the engine i think is a MAP sensed because it has the fitting in the plenum with 3 x vacuum nipples coming out of it but it didn't come with the MAP sensor and the guy i bought the loom off says he beleives its a AFM sensed loom . any help appriciated thanks , Lindsay

howdy all , i need to replace the pinoin seal on my diif , is it as easy as just un bolting the tailshaft flange and the nut on the pinouin shaft and pluck the seal out ? my dad was saying i might have to take out the pinion shaft , but then again he like to do things the longest and hardest ways possible sometimes any help appreciated , Lindsay
