towe001 Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Been there done that, my old t-18 was classed as a torana when i had it put in for a wheel alignment once. Had me pondering about pulling the t-18 badge and sticking a torana one in its place. Quote

It's not as bad as Chev badges, as M is purely a division of BMW like TRD is of Toyota. E36 M3s were also available in 4-door sedan form. Also, there were M-spec normal BMWs, the proper M3s/M5s etc would have the number next to the M-badge whereas the M-spec models would just have the M. The M itself does not necessarily indicate that the car is an M-car (M3, M5, M Coupe), merely that it has been up-specced by the M-division as a factory option. Quote
love ke70 Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 towe, did they not get a little confused when they realised the suspension was a little different to that of a torana? :blinks: Quote
towe001 Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 I don't know cause all the guy did was write the rego down, model, no make, no year, lifted the car up and went to work... Quote

SLO-030 Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 Not like the Calais and Berlinas are really different anyways, just the interior spec. Quote
Trev Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 so putting a calais or a clubsport badge on a clapped out berlina is no real problem? No, it will be the same as putting a HSV badge on it. Quote
Evan G Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 f@$k this I'm going to cut the corolla badge up and make it say cortina Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 (edited) so putting a calais or a clubsport badge on a clapped out berlina is no real problem? No that's different, that would be false representation. It is exactly like putting a TRD badge on a normal Toyota, or as Trev said, a HSV badge on a Holden, except that certain normal BMW cars that weren't M-cars came out with M badges on them anyway (and it wasn't that uncommon either). Same goes for Audis these days with S-badges, there are normal Audis with S-spec fitment but normal engines. Edited February 26, 2011 by Hiro Protagonist Quote
