philba Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 bloody mexicans. Plates are as cheap as the woman. ! haha Ah, it says in his profile that he's from NSW. The real Mexicans are from Victoria. I know, i get hounded for it all the time (originally from Bendigo, now in Canberra) Quote
Medicine_Man Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Matt has changed plans with his fuel setup, Now he is going to run an inline pump to feed a surge tank with a high pressure pump. Also today upgraded the feed and return lines.. Fuel system should be sorted again by the weekend.. He also cleaned and painted the kickpanels and the carpets are now sitting in the car ready to be cut to suit. I Fitted new high tensile bolts, nyloc nuts and spring washers to hold extractors on, Fitted O2 sensor, Mounted coil and half mounted washer bottle. Engine wiring harness has now been run inside the car, I have fitted the ECU relay and Circuit Open relay to control the fuel pump. Lower radiator mounts have been welded on and radiator now has been filled with water ready for next test run. Rear window has also been fitted. Quote
Medicine_Man Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Demand vid of next test run :D Teddy is out of town next weekend, Apparently I have to get a video of me driving it around with some vice grips ;) Quote
Medicine_Man Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 Teddy got all the surge tank setup completed just before, Finished wiring up the pumps and it fired up on the second go :locked: More videos to follow! Quote
Trev Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 2nd go? Atleast your honest :locked: C'mon 1st drive video :D Quote
Medicine_Man Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 2nd go? Atleast your honest :locked: C'mon 1st drive video :D Yeah, I manually Primed the surge tank (Didn't want to run the high pressure one dry) But it took one crank cycle to pressurise the fuel rail (Was no fuel in the lines up to the engine because they are all new).. Medicine_Man Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 Tested out his new twinlights too, I could feel the heat coming off them :locked: Quote
Teddy Posted September 11, 2007 Author Report Posted September 11, 2007 Ah yes, i need to do a good long reply sometime soon. Basically, every moment I'm not at work or sleeping, I'm working on that blue car lol. So many new things happening.. yeah, fuel system wasn't good enough. Old pump running 2 years odd in 1/2 tank fuel, in un-baffled carby tank on small lines ~ bad. Car now has Surge tank, lifter pump, lifter pre-filter, Main pump, fuel filter and upgraded from standard (5mm / 6mm ? to 8mm lines ~ 5/16th? Something like that) - Upgraded as in bent all new lines up; chucked out the old lines that i painstakingly painted gold hahha. We even removed, and re-bent up and assembled the pickup assembly - welded and all. Didnt get any pics, silly me. Its a work of art. Car WILL be ready for Bathurst :locked: I should also get some pics of this dash, its ready to bolt in as well ;) Justin has been un-fault-able with his pedantic wiring, and endless support / help / food. This goes for the rest of his family as well ! Dash goes in tomorrow night, Carpet gets cut tomorrow night. Seatbelts and crap goes in tomorrow night. I'm off to newcastle for the weekend for a rally, i promised to service in months ago. As much as I'm looking foward to it, ugh its come at a pretty bad time. Friday seats will be ready to pickup. :D. Basically, if we put diff and gearbox oil in it, it would be ready to drive around the yard ! - oh, and a steering wheel, but thats over rated.. ;) ! Cheers Quote
Des Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 GO TEDDY!!! Pictures from the rally will be expected. Des :locked: Quote
Paul Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 Steering wheel, pfffft Vice grips for the win!!!111 ps:nice work Quote
ancullen Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 Those twin headlights are MEAN. They seem insanely strong - I wouldn't like to be driving towards you at night Teddy! Bathurst + beer + nice looking car that isn't a Holden or a Ford = I wouldn't want to be Teddy. I've heard bad things about nights at Bathurst... Quote
