I'm stripping all the goodies out of the orange ke20 and transferring them into the red 25 and the panelvan.

I'm really struggling here.. Should I cut the ke25 guards and fit the te27 flares or just leave it as is?? It'll have a 3tgeu it's starting to look like a te27 replica now..

Something new. 5 self tappers and it went on a treat.

New rolling stock SSR MKII !! Making my own set of flares to put on to cover them.

near future plans are 4x114.3 rear diff conversion for new wheels, TE27 Flares, Te27 Ducktail Spoiler, Trueno Tail lights.

I've worked out that the engine cross member has moved across about 7mm causing the track and camber to be off so its going up on the hoist soon to get re aligned. now...

My dilemma is I'm going to cut the guards for the flares and I want to carefully cut them out in 1 peice so if I want to in the future I can weld them back in and return it to no flares. What would your Tool of choice be to cut them out? Air hack saw? Looking forward to opinions cheers guys

 

Stock guards would be best.. Make the wheels fit the car not the car fit the wheels..

 

Factory arches suit this so much more than bolt ons or anything ever would

I didn't cut by guards - i knocked the lip flat against the guard & then stretched / shaped the factory steel flare with hammer & dolly to fit under the fibreglass flare - a bit of work to do, but much stronger. i don't know if i have a pic or not...

Really depends on how much clearance you require?, We needed to fit a decent size slick under it so went the whole hog, chopped the inner guard a tad

less than the outer skin and tapped n welded em back together ( slr torana style) personally seeing as your little beast is so pretty id just lip the guard

and play with offset tyre size to get em under it

in this shot you can see how i filleted the inner to help get it back to the outer, i didnt add a filler panel,

so as it stretched it flattened out the top of the wheel well, without the outer flare bolted on we can fit a 14 x 10 tyre under it no worries.

You have to cut the fronts as the front of the car is quite a bit narrower than the rear, the rears you can roll and pump

the lip out up to a point or go all the way and cut and shut the twin skin to suit. Internal clearance can also be an issue,

check lock to lock on fronts and rears around corners no scrubbing is a ballpark indication its in the clear for that rim/tyre combo.

Yeah I'm on the coast havent had her out for a while though. will be soon.

 

Have been flat out for the last 4 months so not alot has been done on the 25 or the 26.. I did however find a coupe Deluxe badge and Trueno tail lights which I should have in a couple of weeks.. coming from overseas. Keen to see how she looks with the lights in..,

Not going to cut the guards anymore... look at them they made it this far in perfect condition I'm not about to wreck them

So glad I decided to keep this.

 

I'm going to see a diff shop next week, Swapping it to 4 x 114.3 (Think ill do the Ke30 axle swap) but shortening the diff/housing width to accommodate my 14 x 7.5 -+0 wheels. The width will fit in the guard, its just the offset so If the diff is made to suit it will look great with deep offset and unrolled guards! :) Dunno if anyone has any input on that.. I know I'm pissing my money up the wall to a degree but I've always wanted to get it to sit perfect. Also going to lower it 1-2 inches and add another leaf.
