I'm loving the twin headlight setup, but i've had quite some time to get used to it. just makes it look a little less "grandma" i reckon  looks like i've got a set of t-18 chrome bumpers I'm gonna have to slap on this (just have to confirm condition of them, but they're cheap so will be good for a template if nothing else). Will see how we go though. in the meantime, i'll just enjoy the "finished" headlight setup :)

cool, thanks for that Trev. will look into it a bit further then! :) did a search on twincam.org and found the following useful info: discussion on ae82 fans & resistors Was gonna check it now but its just started to belt down with rain, so will have to wait til later

Okaaaaaaay, havent updated the thread for quite some time, but honestly there hasnt been much happening to the rolla :) Decided to get off my ass today and "finish" the quad headlight setup as it was sick of it looking a bit half assed and tacky, when it should be looking schmick. so i mounted the lights and surrounds as best i could (passengers side is cool but drivers side is using a LHS light bracket, so lots of mods and a bit dodgy - only got 2x LHS mounts when i purchased it - was better than not getting it at all i thought). Also modified the grill cause its been running without one for a couple of months now. Anyway, less talk - heres a pic of the finished product: From this: To this: Still havent got the fuel pickup or cat in yet, but hopefully they'll go in over the next few weeks. Also appears one of my king springs has collapsed or something as the rear RHS is sitting up higher than it should be and it looks like the spring is all mounted correctly, so will have to sort that out. Thats it for now

Hey guys, having some issues with my interior fan (heater & cool). For the last week or so it hasnt wanted to work. Up until a few weeks ago, it would ocassionally just stop working when it was turned on, would only work when it was on "high" or not work at all. Obviously not getting power, but checked fuses and all appears to be well. Have also taken out glovebox compartment etc and checked all plugs around it are plugged in, which they appear to be. I had the ECU for my 4age mounted behind the glovebox inbetween the back of the glovebox and the blower unit/A/c cooling unit (snug fit, can only just shut glovebox), and thought this might be the case (ie knocked a plug out or something) but it doesnt look like thats the case? Any assistance in the matter would be appreciated :)

hopefully they give ya $7k to replace it. if they do that though they may insist you do the "factory" turbo (which is "IHI" from memory), but ya might get lucky and just be given CAAAASH to get a good turbo instead!!! Fingers crossed for ya that you get a nice new garrett. I'd definately consider LSD though if you've got $$$ left over. will make a big difference i think. will stop the inside wheel from spinning atleast! Good luck :lolcry:
-
Not surprising when a new ecu for an ae112R sportivo is $20,000 - confirmed by toyota and all. think they cost them $14,000, and markup to $20,000 from memory :no2: So if your car is insured for under $20k and the ecu walks, it'd technically be a writeoff cause of a stolen ecu :lolcry: I'd definately go the garrett turbo option lesley! How long left on the warranty and how much they proposing to pay out to you?
-
If they fitted the TT then there's nothing to worry about! :jamie: Hopefully they can get it sorted out for ya shortly so you're not without it for too long! :lolcry: I hope you're going to do some engine work to it once its out of warranty :o
-
hopefully they don't try and pin the turbo timer as being the problem, but if they havent said anything yet then no doubt they wont make it too hard. Like ancullen said, there's no reason why they shouldnt fix it cause its still under warranty (they'd wanna fix it, i paid alot for that warranty when i purchased it :jamie:). If they squirm out of it, chuck a garrett or something on there. Probably need a LSD on it though with that much extra power as the grip is pretty average as it was :o Good luck with it all!

think i've seen something pretty similar........... :o heres a pic i took of the "sportivo" concept at the 2004 motorshow: Needless to say, i like them both, especially the supra :jamie:
-
this car just gets better with every photo :) Loved the pic of the before and after shots of the light brackets......i got a set over from NZ recently too and they looked similar, but you've inspired me to give em a spray :D

;) yeah its fun for the first 10 minutes or so, but then get a tad annoying :no2: I made up that pissy enclosure thing for the whole thing but i reckon it made it worse cause its got a smaller space to vibrate in :sob: Oh well, will be out soon so will enjoy some quieter driving :bash:
-
yeah, must've come from a totally awesome guy =0) thanks again mate!
-
my new purchases. should be arriving shortly ;) So hopefully the exhaust will be a touch quieter, and the horrible "ticking" sound from the lifter pump will disappear with the intank setup :bash:

Ah, verrrrry close my friend! i saw the GT celica badge on there a while back but didnt get it. the one i got is pretty similar though from memory! couple more days and all will be revealed
-
nah, not a new corolla badge :) i'll elaborate a bit more on my previous hint - I'm doing a "modern" take on the JDM TE71 GT. will be on by the end of the weekend i would imagine, so will chuck up a pick then. could go either way, so will see how we go
-
considered that, but using something a bit tackier than chewing gum  that's what i'll probably do though - make up some little backing and bog and paint to make it look nice and clean perhaps? We'll see. Picked up a little something for the grill today - not sure if anyone else other than me will like it, but its my "modern" take on the JDM TE71's :)
-
i wish i shared your optimism  it'll do for now and i'll see how i go later on after other stuff is done :)

Had a play around with the drivers side light today and have got it on and almost how it needs to be. Had to do alot of chopping of the bracket (as it was for a passenger side mount), but I'm fairly happy with the result considering all of that. will make final adjustments to both sides shortly, but next job will be getting a grill back on it as the Levin one came off today (looks better with no grill than one with 1.5" either side before the lights). Anyway, less talk and more pics: The gap under the parkers is "normal", as to do it "properly" you need the front valance (???) and front guards from memory. All good for now though!

:D      well done matey!!!! :) Loving the mortal kombat photoshop
-
Yeah, saw that on there. it was from the guy i was originally gonna get the headlight surrounds from in the phillipines (rhett?). considered it but will adapt the standard grill (will get rid of the t-18 levin grill thats on there at the moment) and see what that looks like  will hopefully have it all finished by the end of this weekend, but will see how i go for time :)
-
the other one most likely wont be in until this weekend, but once they're both in you'll get a squiz! gotta make it look all nice and perrrrty first! also just realised that my little beast is gonna be a adm/kdm/jdm bitsa :) that's surely good for another 5kw. with that AND the rollaclub sticker I'm gonna be pulling some hectik power bro

Bit of an update on the quads........... got this on friday afternoon: Out of ^ came this: Only had time to play around with one of them (they are both passenger side brackets, so need to fiddle around with the one for the drivers side), but this is what i got done quickly: Had to grind more away from the valance to fit them in place and a couple of holes for the studs to go through (almost spot on where existing ones were though). Its not completely finished as i have to straighten it up, do the drivers side obviously, and get 2 "flat faced" globes so they match the semi-sealed ones i've got in there. will also give them a spray when i've trial fitted the lot so they look like new, and cut down and put the old grill back on. also looking into an addition for the front grill, but that wont be revealed for a week or so yet :) A big thanks to Mike from clubk in NZ for sending these over, for a VERRRRY good price too! After these are in, i'll only need fender mirrors and chrome bumpers to get it how i want it to look (basing it on a pic that most beige ke70 owners are  ). Let me know what ya think :)
-
s#!t mate, you're having absolutely no luck with that bloody clutch! hopefully you can get it sorted soon so we can take the rolla's for a fang through the hills (a sensible fang of course :))
-
yeah mate, the taillights are of ke20/25, but I'm only interested in the lights. should be on the way from nz in the next few days :S
-
good work micko! :) i'll get a swaybar in the a$$ of mine and come out with ya next time! where bouts was it? lobethal?
