  1. Well done lesley!!!!! :P would've entered it in toyoshow when i had it if i knew it'd have a chance! Awesome work :) Just had a read on toymods........a damn lot of bitching going on over there! think its partly to do with the fact there's not many corolla owners over there, they generally seem like a bunch of tools, and are all interested in their fullllly sick sub enclosures and wiked door pods. The sportivo may not be pumping out 300rwkw, but who says a nice car is all about power (did it get 97kwatw or something?)? IMO, the sportivo is a fantastic example of a corolla, rare as rocking horse shit, and unique to most other cars! But hey, i might be a bit impartial! just pi$$es me off to see people whining about a nice car  Well done again mate! :D Chuck up some more photos if ya got some too!
  2. So the box is out hey.....whens the flywheel getting machined? hopefully its in soon so we can croooooooooooooze matey :hmm:
  3. Sweet rides mate! love the fact that you're smiling with the sierra on its side against the bank :hmm: Awesome stuff! :)
  4. yeah, will most likely end up doing that i think! Might have a play around with it tomorrow as its gonna be good paint drying weather :)
  5. was gonna leave it, but MIGHT paint them. wanted to do the 16 valve in blue as it should be being jdm, but dunno if i can justify a can of spray paint to do 7 numbers/letters :y: would have to find something else to do blue (no, not the extractors - they're chaning colour for sure). We shall see :)
  6. Okay, cleaned up a "spare" rocker cover set i got from a mate yesterday (with the help of a mate), and have slapped em on the rolla now and it looks pretty good imo. Here's some pics from the process: Started with: In the sandblaster: Out of the sandblaster: Cooking in the oven - cook until nice and tender :D So, just a quck recap of what was on the 4age when i purchase it: And, the End result #1 End result #2 Gonna get either some stainless bolts or spray the existing ones black for the bit on the spark plug alley cover. also gotta get the rubber that surrounds that black bit as the original one had corroded. Happy as it is though as the jdm didnt even have one on there. Extractors are next (either black/aluminium look like the rocker cover), and intake manifold. Will get the engine bay looking nice eventually! Having some issues with the fuel system at the moment though. went for a run yesterday, got to my mates and it dumped fuel out under the engine, from the chassis rail :y: For whatever reason the carbon canister is filling with fuel, and the "vent" at the bottom which normally vents excess fumes to the atmosphere is instead dumping fuel. So we think one of the hoses has been hooked up as a "return" rather than a "breather", or something along those lines. looking into it further, just gotta work out what hoses on the tank are what. Lots of fun :)
  7. I recently upgraded my headlights on my ke70 as i wanted to get rid of the shit standard ones. I ended up getting a "semi-sealed" light, that fitted straight in (was a replacement made for the ke70 lights). Basically the same as the standard "sealed" headlights, with the exception that there is a rubber mounting at the rear of the light, so you can interchange the bulbs in it, and thus use the H1/H4's??? I've got arctic blue ones in there now and its made a WORLD of difference :D Only got about $30 for the semi-sealed lights, then whatever for the bulbs you want :) Can see if i can find some more details in the meantime :y:
  8. Couldnt agree more! we did it in my mates shed, which was good cause it was quite big, had a pit, and was just good to leave it when we needed a break before we smashed something! :y: just take your time with it, and don't be in a huge rush :)
  9. You wont regret it mate! :) Um, advice......pedal box is REALLY fiddly, and in particular two bolts right up near the firewall (you'll know the ones) that are a bitch to get to. For the last one, we ended up drilling through the aircon ducting with a hole saw cause we just couldnt get in there. Though, if the whole dash was off this might've been easier???? (we didnt take the dash out). Master isnt too bad.....hole saw, few holes carefully measured out and bob's your auntie =0) Other than that, the rest isnt too bad from what i remember, just time consuming more than anything. the pedal box was the main f$#k around for us, and probably something that took us way longer than it needed to. If you're using a t-18 diff, we didnt need to change handbrake cables, as the t-18 ones fit just fine and it all works thus far. gearbox xmember only required a couple of new holes in it to bolt on (t-50 x-member), oh, and you'll need the speedo sender from the t-50. didnt get it with mine, and think the speedo is out by about 10km/h (using the stock ke70 - k40/50 one). AE71 radiator fitted with some small brackets made on the side to bolt it to, then into the existing holes. all hoses lined up where they needed to from memory. Hopefully you went alright though! if you (or anyone else) got any questions, let me know and i'll see if i can help ya out. Main thing at the end of the day ---------------- RESEARCH definately pays off. I did a heap of research and asked a few questions, and it helped so much at the end of the day! :y:
  10. Well, this is a bit of a "nothing" post in my member's ride thread, but thought i'd chuck it up anyway. Got to take the rolla for the first decent spin since i got my cast off, and i think i fell in love with the 4age all over again. It was a bit wet down here tonight, so had a LITTLE bit of fun (only getting the ass out a couple of times). Gotta say that i love the response of the 4age.........pulled out of a carpark, gave it a squirt, and it just lit them up and sat on 7000-8000rpm with the odd squeeze everynow and then to keep it up there. Sounds f$#ken awesome in the higher range! ANd did a standstill a little later on, and same again......didnt have to drop the clutch or anything, just first gear going up hill, full gas, loss of traction, then on and off the gas (hit the limiter a couple of times :y:). Oh, and the little pickup you feel after you throw it into second when giving it a bit (TVIS???) :D Then on the way home from my mates, a VT tried to have a run. We were slowin down to a red light, and it went green, so off we went (me lowish revs in 2nd). Quite easily kept in front of him, and pulled away slightly even :D Then Pulled up behind him at a set of lights (no spots next to him), and we both pulled off......had no problem again, and got "the nod" after we came back together (i backed off a bit sooner being the responsible driver i am :D ). Was gonna try my luck against a r33 gst25 (n/a), but we couldnt get any line ups, but i think i might have been out of my league there. All in all though, it was a fun night and reinforced my high opinion of the 4age and its place in my ke70! :) can't recommend it highly enough to anyone considering doing it!!!!!! :P :P  Oh, also got a new set of rocker covers to play with now so gonna clean them up in my mate's sandblaster on monday and spray them, so will chuck some pics up once that's done. ALso looking to spray the rims this weekend, but we'll see how we go! Will update the thread once done :)
  11. Well, i can make up the list of credits now, that's easy: "Oh my, i really wasnt expecting this......its just a privilige to drive such an awesome car, but i couldnt have done it without the help of some people that i hold close to my heart. Firstly, i'd like to thank sweet baby jesus...... :D Thanks to my boys, Paul & neil, my rollaclub buddies Mick & Craig, my g/f's dad, paul's mates who were there for a bit, Autotech Imports for a sweet engine, Sprints auto for all the parts we needed, and my bank :) Will definately have to get a group photo organised though, surrounding the ke70 sometime soon!!!!! :D
  12. Okay, picture time again............ Paul (left) and Mick (right) deep in thought Engine out - sorta oily as the air con was accidentally undone :D a neil-powered ke70 :D Hmmmm, trd 3 puck clutch set :y: 4age going in, under watchful supervision of mick and my g/f's dad why did it fire and then die down to nothing????? :P (part A) why did it fire and then die down to nothing????? :P (part B) Me buzzing away at the exhaust.....yes, i actually did some work :) Paul (my master mechanic) welding said ^^ exhaust together :D So they're a few more pics from the old conversion!!!
  13. Its alright mick, you're bent over the bonnet looking busy and in thought!!! Will host the pic, and a few others, and slap up some "random" pics from the conversion that i've got sitting around! :D
  14. Shit, looks like you've put a bit of research into that mate! :) Love the look of the Auris (first pic), don't mind the axio, but not a huge fan of the blade! :D Though, the blade should go alright like ya said, using the 2.4L & 4wd! Would love to see a corolla GT4 come out though! i owned one of the last turbo corollas (AE112R sportivos), and that was sweet, but could've done with 4wd! Hmmmmmm :D
  15. keep the nut on the thread a little bit and it should stop that! almost did it the first time i took mine off! Irokin's right though, as since i've done my steering wheel a few times since originally doing it, and its heaps easier now :)
  16. Yeah, no hotdog/cat, just the rear muffler at the moment. MAY run a hiflow cat later on, but no plans for the time being :) Sounds a LITTLE raspy though i think (in the cabin atleast), but we'll see how it goes. And yeah, craig is in the vid, with paul, bri, and me, mr potty mouth :D there's a pic with you in it mick, so i'll have to chuck it up!!!!! :D
  17. Okay, video now up..........not the best, but it'll do :) Oh, someone (ie me) pops the f word at the end, so just beware if you're listening around touchy people :D (it was the first time i'd heard it run, and was excited :D )
  18. Yeah, hosting the video via youtube now. its a big file though (10mb) for now, until i convert it to something more user friendly. ** update - video is "uploaded" but can't access it yet.....hopefully will come up soon!!!!! Wheels arent done yet, but will be done in the next few days i reckon! will go with the option of just painting the "inside" of the rims (ie leave the outer edges silver) and see how that looks, and if not, then go the outside of the spokes too! :D
  19. Ah yes, that's what i can do with all the black paint that'll be left!!!!! good to see one of us is thinking :D Last night i was bored and cause i've got the cast off my foot now ( :D ), i went out and did some work on the car. The ecu and wiring was all sitting in the front passenger's footwell, and the relay etc for the fuel pump in my footwell (only shorted the fuse once :)). SO, i've poked the fuel pump stuff in behind the kicker on the drivers side which wasnt a problem. The ecu & wiring was a little more work purely cause of the bulk of all the wires, and the relay for the wires we hooked up. BUT, i managed to poke that stuff in behind the kicker (poking the relay through one of the holes in body) I ended up just sticking the ECU up behind where the glovebox is, and its sorta resting against the heater fan and some other shit up there. Aint going anywhere, which is good. Only thing is the glovebox is a little harder to shut, but some gentle force when its in position does the job, and wont hurt the ecu :D SO, the interior is now back as it was and looking stocker again! Oh, reason i didnt mount the ecu in the kicker was because i wanted to keep my front speakers.....gotta have the tunes :y: You wont get an idea of the wring and where it is, but heres a pic of the ecu "mounted" and in position: Oh, also considering hosting and posting up a video of the first running of the 4age after the conversion (first "proper" running).....not that flash, but its comin straight out the extractors which was cool (and loud!). Anyone interested in that?
  20. From memory, the nut should be it.........now ya just gotta put a whole lot of muscle into it and yank & riggle the shit out of it until it comes off. Just be careful not to smack yourself in the chops :y:
  21. Yeah, might stick with the existing setup, and maybe go the industrial springs route to get some customs. We will see, as its not a big priority at the moment as i wont be driving it for atleast another 2 weeks (f$#ken broken toe.... :y:). I did get some paint just now though, so gonna see what i'll do with the engine. Got VHT "hi temp engine enamel" in "Flat black" and "universal aluminium". SO gotta work out if its gonna be black covers and silver writing (in which case i can just sand the lettering tops back after its painted black), or the silver look with black writing, like option B. Think that'll be the way i'll sway! :no2:
  22. I've got the 14x7s on there at the moment, so it COULD be enough? didnt you have a ra60 brake setup floating around mick? :y: Yeah, i remember how low yours is craig! May stick with it as it is for the time being......only reason i'd be changing anything is to drop it slightly, as it doesnt handle too bad the way it is now. Not worth the effort for the time being! Guess with my fat @ss in the drivers seat, it'll drop a bit too :no2:
  23. I agree mate! will have to measure them up to see how much modification will actually be required to see whether its worth the effort. will look into it a bit in the new year! :ninja:
  24. :ninja: id much rather to do it the "right" way as I'm not too keen on chopping them, BUT, short of going adjustables/coilovers there's not really many other alternatives are there? Guess i might just save up some $$$ for adjustables and do it that way. Just don't wanna go for kings superlows or anything as they'll be waaaaay to low, and i don't wanna have heaps of attention now as they'll get me on numerous things no doubt :hmm: Will have a look at the options! :hmm: And yeah, noticed the sig last night mick, so will update the baby! Its definately rockin, but its contained to the driveway til my foot heals :hmm:
  25. Okay, here's mick's take on my little rolla...........i think i like! :ninja: :hmm: :hmm: might have to get the angle grinder out and go at the kings, or do the falcooon thing:
