  1. Yea it needs to go for a tune, but i don"t know when I'm going to find time to take it in so hopefully petrol prices stay kinda low or I'm going to be broke.
  2. thanks for the great info, would be good to see you go all out on one haha. done well mate
  3. 17L/ 100. 4k with shaved head, cam, full exhaust, and 32/36 weber needing a really good tune. already spent $110 on petty this week.
  4. Yea I've been thinking about doing i got every thing to do it. I was thinking of doing it with custom pistons(can get them pretty cheap) with the valve cuts and the right shape for the head to up the compression. But would have to check that valves wouldn't hit the bores. If I did I wouldn't go to the effort to relocate and enlarge the bores. Thanks for the infomation.
  5. Thanks for the great infomation, if you where to use the 4k piston size would the valves hit the bores?
  6. Got some pictures today, it's going well needs a tune and a few other things. Paint is dodgy but wanting for warm weather to paint it proper. I'm starting to like black.
  7. It was most likey marine grade so 316. If I remember tomorrow I'll get a picture of the can.
  8. Yea so far they haven't but I have only just started to drive the drive so hopefully they don't. If they do I'll just spend a hour making some new ones out of steel You can get the paint from supercheap I payed 17 bucks for a can and I still have maybe a 3rd of a can left. So far the paint is in top condition. If you want I can send you a picture of the can.
  9. I hit them with a wire brush until shiney then i used 3M extractor paint straight on with a light coat then one more coat. Then you just drive fairly hard to get them really hot and should last for a while. Paints rated to 650 degrees.
  10. I just spent an hour or so on the lathe and machined stainless steel studs up. They work well if you wanna have a look check my build thread. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/49210-herbert-the-panel-van/page__st__60
  11. Hey guys, Just started to drive my ke70 and I'm alittle worried my speedos out. I'm running 14x8's with 195/55-14. I can't remember what stock is but it's Lot bigger I think. I have a random diff center and i have never figured out ratios, I know that's no help. But is it more likey it will be reading faster than I'm actually going? Thanks chris
  12. Got a lot done over the last couple of days, i got it down to the exhaust shop this arvo and got that all done. shat my self when a cop was following me but nothing. Been driving it for a little bit, passenger side axle bearing is screwed even though they are brand new. I think the brake might be stuck on, its a harsh ride but its fun don't know how long it will last for though. ill grab some pictures tomorrow, its currently painted in gloss black spray paint and looking ghetto.
  13. Got a bit done today, chrome bar is almost fitted. The mounts are welded up and ready to go just need to mod the end caps and its fitted. bit dodgy but they work. I have made new door cards and working on the panels in the back as well. just got to bog tomorrow and paint. I'm getting really excited to drive it.
  14. Been working on this a lot lately, exhaust is getting fitted on tuesday arvo and then its getting driven alot more often. still got to do a few things but with a few sleepless nights it will get done. may as well drop some photos to. to cold for the bog to go off mixed with a lot of harder as well nothing a heater a lamp wont fix. theres a gap between the grill and the lights got to play around wiht it and try and get it closed up. starting to come back together. went to upullit today and picked up some guard bolts, chrome bumper bolts, some clips that hold the grill on, and a fuse box cover. these chrome bolts where off a ke30 just like brand new ones but alot cheaper. should look good. can't wait to drive it though been way to long.
  15. So all guards are pretty much done, just need to bog and then they are done. I will be painting it in spray paint (gloss black) and will stay like this until weather is warmer to paint it. So hopefully it will be road worthy buy Monday, got to chuck rego on it get a exhaust fitted then introduce it to the hills. can't wait to start driving it, from what i have driven it, it will be a very fun little car and seems to be pretty punchy for a 4k. I am a little worried about driving it as it has never been taken for a good drive so unsure of problems but will be fun any way.
  16. People who do 30k's under the speed limit who have a line up of at least 8 car behind them, who then drive straight past a slow vehicle pull in. Its also the last chance to over take or for them to pull over as such, for a great distance makes for a slow trip.
  17. Is he asking how easy a 4k to 2jz swap would be?Haha
  18. Lone was a auto correct. There is no long stud in the housing, between the two the centre housings where both diffenrent. I'm a little confused how you measure the crown diameter? Every thing leads to it being a t seires, but I just have never seen one with no long stud.
  19. This thread as re sparked my love for ke25's sigh.
  20. yea i forgot to put them back on so ill be putting them in some time soon. as for guards all most done and its school holidays so should find plenty of time for this and should be on the road in a couple of weeks.
  21. I still don't think it is centered but oh well.
  22. is there any chance of getting more photos of this build? thanks
