wrong, only base models in the ae9X never came with the front swaybar, strut bace <you>will</you> help in the long run as long as its the 3 point factory item from the sx/gti (had a 2 point, the towers still flexed). Oh and the ae82 is a completely different shape and has different mounting points.
now there was a kit from whiteline at one stage so you could fit a sway bar to base models, its had a different part number to the one redwarf qouted, it seems that whitle may have stopped producing the kit
if you must have a front sway bar you need the following out of an SX/GTI(they have all the mounting bracket etc)
lower control arms,
brackets,
sway bar and links,
and i would think about changing the bushes while you at it.
