  1. where's carpark motorkhanas?
  2. motec is the best, but also the most expensive. some more popular cheap ones include wolf 3d (australian, i think they're rubbish), microtech (all the lebs use these, they're good), autronics (also heard good things about these), and megasquirt (one you build yourself). look on ebay for a second hand one or call a performance shop who will also tune it for you, or you can usually buy direct from the manufacturer if buying second hand, make sure you get a DIGITAL computer. old microtechs and the like had trimpot controls, and they tend to go out of adjustment with vibration of the car. i've heard they last in ideal tune for as little as two weeks, even a carby is better than that
  3. 760kg. if i sold my 25 now i'd want more than that for it, so it's a good price. call an engineer and see if this is do-able, or you're going to have to spend alot more money than you have. this is a cool little car  oh btw, suncorp do me 5 grand full comp (50% no claim) on my 25 for $220 a year. just cars, shannons, etc are good if you have a mad turbo or import car that nobody else will insure, but for just a modified 30+ yearold aussie car i'd be inclined to call around?
  4. mx5. 13b turbo. nuff said  bullit roadster. they have a short wheelbase though, so i reckon they'd be a handful if you wanted to get broad (says the guy who drives a ke25)
  5. it's not a red one with orange-peeled paint is it? stay away if so. call an engineer in your area to find out about engineering. rust in the same spots, but 25s are made of better metal so they don't rust as bad. ke25 has steering box. the diff is weak if you drive hard, but you'll need to shorten anything else you put in it, may as well go to the effort putting a t18 diff in it, then you can use japanese ae86 lsd
  6. that's like an odyssey sealed lead acid battery. the best, but you pay for it. you don't need to box them either
  7. correct. all corollas from 1978 onwards rust pretty badly if uncared for. check the front of the bonnet, the guards, the bottom of the windscreens, the pillars, the roof, the boot, the chassis rails. anywhere water pools or any fold in the metal
  8. no just the spoiler
  9. yeah, mine's a 480 which is only one or two steps behind, useful when you have a carby car and haven't driven it for a week or two. rr-rr-rr-rr-rr-rr-rr-rr... (that's the sound the starter makes btw haha)
  10. no, it's made by canberra car styling. may be modified from somewhere else i guess? most kits and bars are these days
  11. batteries are rated in CCA, cold cranking amps. which is a measure of the current available for 30 seconds at -18c. most cars will start with a piss tiny battery, micras and ftos come out with like a 190CCA, but extra is always better. 550CCA is a truck battery, they go up to 600 available on the shelf shelf. that's also really bloody heavy, getting to the stage where you need to take a break if you carry it further than a room
  12. toyota = quality these days, quality != cheap
  13. you guys need a bottle of wine and a tube of KY
  14. they do, it's called the altezza i wonder how much bit char-gs cost these days. if you had a mate or two with one, you could really have some fun. there you go guys, rollaclub bit char-g competition  teddy could even make a lightweight ke70 shell!
  15. lol fookie  ben, rarespares sell generic seatbelts in all different colors, i'll be getting some when i feel like spending the money
  16. you're pretty much right about t18s there
  17. no it's actually their own design, my old tafe teacher has one of these on his 5k ke70 wagon, he said it made his car alot more stable at higher speeds (he's a motorbike guy, so he likes spirited mountain drives) though he had to make up another support for the middle, he wedged a piece of broomstick in between the apron and the spoiler. if i had a ke70, i'd get one of these
  18. OH MY GOD THIS IS THE COOLEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE http://members.shaw.ca/zenofstuff/initialcharg08.html
  19. when you go fast in fwd and turn the wheel, the car doesn't turn. they don't drift. they're harder and way more expensive to work on and get decent power out of and do engine conversions to. most of them look and sound gay and are girls cars
  20. so does ke35
  21. if you want to go fast, you have to use fuel hey. you won't get a fuel injected rwd corolla in australia unless it's already been modified, and in which case it would be out of your budget. what do you actually want to use the car for? there's nothing wrong with leaf springs and steering boxes providing they're in good working order and setup correctly. you're driving an xf at the moment so it's not like you can really downgrade hey
  22. swap the motor too
  23. and if i called you and said "hey come get these bits by tomorrow" would you have done it? exactly
  24. http://www.spc.org.uk/nissan/sas-nissan-r34-vpec-2.html W O W ! ! !
  25. they are, mmm eggs
