  1. i like yours better  the ae35 will end up being a better car anyway, rome wasn't built in a day
  2. i agree with doug, chrome rocks educate us then fook, how is this car so much better than yours?
  3. bullshit  gearbox, rollcage, spare wheel setup. i don't really see any other differences other than cosmetic and engine class
  4. yeah, fook's looks better, that's the first thing i thought too. i would think a slighty rough (primer spots etc) car with an illegal rollcage would get pulled over alot more than fook's car with the same cage. the engine bay is pretty  i wonder if that catch can actually works hollinger box, aren't they worth like 10 grand?
  5. how old are you?
  6. because they're a dime a dozen, and the only reason it will stop is the pistons expand in the bores so much and seize. go out there the next day after everything's cooled down and it will more than likely start again. no shit, we've done this with paddock bashers before
  7. just go to the wreckers with a mower tin of fuel and a battery
  8. one of the more useful websites i've found in a LONG time really good for finding out how much hp cars make and what sort of engine they have in them and how much they weigh http://www.globalcar.com/datasheet/Toyota/
  9. ive heard about this many times, though it's been exagerated to 20 minutes, 10 hours, blah blah blah. wasn't a movie on the computer was it?
  10. they look like they're behind a green screen in a movie!
  11. i think you've photoshopped them too big, that looks like one of those pimp cars that bounce like in a dr dre music video
  12. yes i noticed your handbrake adjustment was bloody short, what's the go there?
  13. too many acronyms for me
  14. hey if you've got it flaunt it  http://haikal.freeshell.org/photos/2004/Ra...s/IMG_5788.html italian man waving his arms around :S
  15. what have you been doing to your cars while you've been away?
  16. http://personal.inet.fi/cool/loser/5T-G.html if i post this here then i won't lose it. here's what you do when you own a celica
  17. oh damn i thought this was the thread organising the first official rollaclub food fight! tricked
  18. how long are cressida control arms? i wouldn't be modifying steering arms. its not the steering arm that has the ball joint thread, it's the control arm
  19. oh yes, oops, i mean um, oh dear  you win! :S
  20. i guess what everyone's saying ben is crawl before you can walk. you've got a ke20 with 30-odd yearold suspension, and you say it "needs" all this insane stuff to handle the way you want. bullshit. a decent set of original-type dampers, new bushes, and replacement or perhaps custom front springs will be MORE than enough to make your ke20 a joy to drive, compared to what it is now anyway besides, doing stupid shit on the street is pretty much limited to burnouts and slipping the arse out around corners. maybe you SHOULD get into some amateur racing, get some direction of what to do with your mods, rather than just reading far-fetched things on the internet and deciding to do that
  21. i don't know what's better, but wouldnt a set of rear air shocks be more expensive than a half decent set of new rear normal gas shocks or oil shocks? if anything, the rear of these cars needs to be softer, not harder. i have pedders "comfort" gas in the back of mine with stock springs, and it's quite a jarring ride. people aren't real fans of my back seat if your car isn't a racecar, then it doesn't need coilovers or custom rims. if you want to do stupid shit on the street, then i reckon the best way to do it is on a budget with bolt-in things. forget all this customizing and different parts and turbo motors and adjustable crap crap crap, just get your stuff running nicely and balanced and it will be good enough hell, i'm kinda getting into making my car decent around a hillclimb track. my "big dream" at the moment is ke70 brakes, a set of rob's old rally springs, some monroe gas shocks i picked up cheap, and some new polyurethane bushes and good steering setup. simple, not cheap and i'm not even customizing anything, and damn effective
  22. scorpion control arms, custom bush, ae86 p/s arms, ae86 struts (can get wide range of springs and shocks, or adjustables), ae86 brakes. that's the shit for a ke20 i reckon. pretty much what fook's done, just with corona struts and bigger brakes
  23. so you're going to spend AU$235 getting old hotwires widened so they are illegal in australia like tom's would be? just buy new performance superlites, it would be cheaper. doug's right, widening a one piece mag wheel isn't as simple as widening steelies. time for new mags. ausrotary.com if you have 4x110 stud pattern, otherwise toymods and the datsun forums for sale section 165s on 5.5" rims would just look normal, and give you big flimsy sidewall like me  185/60s all the way
  24. sounds like a pretty stock motor. the suspension is stiff so it handles like a go kart, its actually quite amazing, i'm thinking "yeah he'll brake soon. he's gotta brake soon. ok we're not taking that corner" then owen just goes *turn* and i'm like WHOA! with 4E injectors and toluene it made 96kw at the wheels. running around on stock injectors and 9psi it doesnt throw you back in your seat or anything, but it's a fun little car and perfect for owen - it's his color, it sneezes, it looks ricey and it's certainly unique. it was an autosalon mag car a few years ago. and like, check the carbon fibre dash, nice the fixed back race seats and back seat aren't for anyone much larger than me though. the number plate means "G force", took me yonks to figure that one out  look i've hijacked another thread :S
  25. that's not a bad idea, they look pretty good on white ke20s too, give a bit of a retrotech look. 185/60s wouldnt be too shabby on them, and give you ke30 speedo ratio (mph x 1.5 = km/h like me)
