  1. 12V starlets are EP71s, all of them in australia are imports. my mate owen just bought one. 2E-FTE motor, probably makes about 70kw at the bags on 16psi. they had two inlet valves per cyl i think, not sure http://superjamie.fotki.com/cars/lismore_s...lismore-24.html http://superjamie.fotki.com/cars/lismore_s...lismore-25.html http://superjamie.fotki.com/cars/lismore_s...lismore-26.html http://superjamie.fotki.com/cars/lismore_s...lismore-27.html
  2. it is illegal to "widen" the rim, it's not illegal to have the center cut out and welded into a whole new band. ADRs specify you may only have one circumferential weld on a wheel in qld, ray billeau engineering will do it for you, when i looked into it, it was about $120 a corner for 13x6" bands and welding balancing etc. he's in the white pages, bit of a grumpy old guy on the phone too
  3. i probably won't be there cos i'm lazy and a long way away
  4. ke20 has 12mm ball joint thread, ke30 has 14mm
  5. do some research, we've gone over this 10 billion times http://www.superjamie.net/ke25/ is my engine basically you need cam, headwork, better carburettor
  6. allow me to elaborate, which "they" control arm is shorter?
  7. fair enough, i have lathe technology available to me what's "they" ben?
  8. how much did the re-bushing of the control arm cost you?
  9. nothing does
  10. hmm, i have some aussie ae86 struts minus inserts and springs too... hello front brake upgrade :P i wish. find out about that control arm thing. have a look at one of the boys' ke70 too, see if they're the same control arms cos i can get ke70 arms for nothing
  11. here's an idea ke30 control arms in ke20. ben, you own both cars, see if this is a bolt up possibility? then you'll have control arms with 14mm balljoint, then you could use ae86 p/s arms with xt130 struts (like fook did in pinky) or even ae86 adjustables which you should be able to buy pre-made if option magazine is anything to go by you could use anything with 14mm balljoint thread really, i think you can get control arms bushed so they bolt into an originally smaller bushed car (right fook?), so wrecker hunting for celica/corona/cressida/scorpion control arms would enable you to run a pretty wide range of tracks and cambers you'd probably need flares front and rear (already need them rear anyway) to run anything wider than a steelie basically, to put different struts in a ke20, you HAVE to go backwards with steering
  12. probably fook. i've only got a 3.1MP 5x optical zoom dc4800. i don't even use that most of the time, my 2.1MP 2x digital zoom dc3800 is easier to use and doesn't take grainy photos (tho it takes shit blurry photos at night lol)
  13. is that an aussie brochure? you'll probably find the ones overseas had 4.3s, U series japanese diff like a ke30 (also had ke30 brakes on the front) the ring gear we used had 4.11 stamped on the side of it, and i did maths and worked out the "wrong" diff was a 3.889. most aussie corolla borg warners are 4.11s
  14. good thing too, as they break more often and/or rust out quicker :P
  15. which it doesnt
  16. depends what you really want, i'd rather the 4k :P
  17. permatex blue and grey are silicons, permatex 3 is a goo
  18. like i said on ur website, thats a wicked photo ay
  19. cafee (with the blue ke30) can get asbestos gaskets, i've still got one he gave me a while back but it's been used a few times and has seen better days :P he's a dealer service manager
  20. calendar? needs wenches :P even if not, i'm in. though i might supply my own photos if i'm not up there at the time. i have brisbane envy :P
  21. why would you want to reduce the quality of your toyota by using datsun bolts in it? :P
  22. haha teddy you could do that with less than $20k. in fact, i'd go as far as saying you could do it for less than $5k if you had some welding skills, less than $1.5k if you cut some corners and started with good 4k bottom end and working sc12 supercharger :P
  23. there is an ae80 in lismore. lamborghini gold respray, huge big ugly bodykit, 4" cannon out the back, white wing stuck on top of the hatch roof, big chromies, etc etc... stock 2A engine :P apparently he's just put a gze in it
  24. he thinks he's fitting ta22 coilovers i looked into this ages ago, i thought power steer arms were shorter too, but ended up finding somewhere that said manual steer arms are shorter getting steering arms shortened is illegal and probably dangerous, new billet ones would be the only way to do it and get it engineered
  25. i was surprised you can use permatex 3 on exhaust gaskets too. doesn't apply to you, but the 4k extractor gaskets are concave on one side, i'd be inclined to silicon this side to the head and use permatex 3 on the manifold convex side i think permatex 3 is superior to loctite 3 also, but loctite has a better applicator (sponge as opposed to brush) your head must have good oil return rob. doug, stewart and i have all had tappet gaskets blow out on long sweeping right handers, when the oil builds up in the back corner of the head (because of the engine slant) and eventually you dump about 1.5L of oil onto your extractors :P
