  1. mel, don't get an r33, trust me. think of the dodgyiest flexy rustbucket you know. r33s are worse than that. r32 or r34 if you can afford it. or my personaly favorite, stagea
  2. meguiars make the best car cleaning products. if you still have original paint you might want to get a cut-polish, which actually removes a small tiny amount of paint so the fresh paint underneath is exposed and it looks all shiny again, i believe meguiars is called gold class and it comes with an applicator. once you get the paint to the level of shine you want, give the car a few good thick coats of wax. don't let people lean on your car but it keeps it looking nice, stops rust too
  3. make one for me too :D
  4. i'm keeping the original strut, shortening etc is more money than i really want to spend. ke20 inserts are 38mm diameter, but the housing looks like it will fit a 42mm insert as long as it's 20mm shorter than stock i spoke to an engineer, rta tech enquiries, highway patrol and an authorised inspection station. they ALL said there is no rule that says springs must be captive at full droop, so i'll just use rob's springs and these stock-type gas inserts i already have, replace them with decent KYBs or something one day just need to lathe up a topnut then SORTED  saw a guy today about desetting my leaves, looks like that's going to set me back about $180. now all i need is to have the struts modified for ke55 brakes, get my adjustable strut tops drilled and tapped and find a suitable bearing and i'm done :D
  5. ae86 struts are the closest i can get i think, and that's not enough. if i get the springs reset taller, the car will sit higher right? shortened struts and height adjustable coilovers are way out of my price range, think it's time for a new set of springs
  6. ahh this is what i was looking for too http://www.club4ag.com/faq%20and%20tech_pa...0Conversion.htm
  7. yeah i know, i'd just rather do the research myself so then a) i know for sure it's going to work, and b) i'd rather not waste a businesses time with enquiries about products that i might not even buy i found a monroe america catalog with dimensions, they're all in inches and the part numbers are different to aussie ones, but it's better than nothing i really could use about 30mm extended length to keep the spring captive. ae86 inserts are only 23mm lower (spaced down at the top). ae92 inserts are minimum 102mm lower (spaced up at bottom). hmm, shit can you use a T3 insert in a T2 strut? (ie: ae86 inserts in ke20 struts) when using inserts of a different length, should i space them inside the strut at the bottom or at the top or equally at each end?
  8. f@$king phat, i loved it, had SO much fun. got the bank to give me the monies so i'm doing tyres and suspension at the moment, obsessed with handling. got me a set of 185/60/13 A539s they are SO GOOD! i could go on for hours, that's how good they are :D
  9. i still had my numbers on from the weekend, i washed them off this arvo to avoid police attention, as tonight is "hoon night" in lismore. the blue triangle however, stays!
  10. i have a standard ke10 5.7" diff and a 1500kw rb26dett in my car, no worries dunno what you're all talking about
  11. i'm doing the whole handling thing at the moment. i have a pair of rob's old springs from redwrf for the front. in the event that these sit the car higher than i'd like, i'll look into getting them reset lower, and run a shorter stroke damper insert to keep things captive my questions is: does anyone know an insert that fits into ke2/3/5/7 struts (they all take the same insert) that is 20mm or more shorter than a factory insert? i'm about to go catalog hunting, does anyone know any manufacturer's websites where i can download catalogs with product dimension info?
  12. datsun wheels, heathen :D not the obligatory drivers-window-half-down, essential for cruising cavill on a saturday night
  13. cows like chanel :D
  14. i got caught without a spare tyre jack once. luckily i was in the area, walked halfway home on a stinking hot day and got my gf at the time to pick me up. learnt my lesson good and proper
  15. quit yeah whingein, nobody made a thread for my birthday either :D
  16. how dodgy is it? very
  17. man you guys need to do some serious weight reduction :D - glovebox rego and insurance papers (haha 5 grand full comp for me) - boot spare tyre, wheel brace, jack
  18. celica rotors are way different. ae86 brakes don't bolt up to corolla struts, but if you get ae86 steering arms you can change the whole strut. but if you were going to do that, you'd change to cressida or corona struts, like in the toymods tech article about brake upgrade
  19. bega is like, right down the bottom near victoria. you'd need to drive for about 20 hours straight i think. hurry up and come down here
  20. i like the one that gets the big huge long drift going towards the left, it was like the jun supra without the smoke. pity their drift track doesn't have CORNERS
  21. AHHH i've seen videos of that driving strip before. i believe the purpose of the event is to chuck your car into a spin and recover and keep driving straight. it's actually quite incredible looking when it works, that looks like a blooper mix video. you reckon the cumb dunts would learn not to park and stand so close to the friggin race road hey
  22. firefox just said it couldnt find it, didnt research any further. that ip link works
  23. the best bit of australian idol - not watching it because you refuse to watch tv because it's all superfluous reality crap and unfair american political muscle you'll go to bega because of some stupid bitch who thinks she can sing, but you won't come to ballina to fix the handbrake you're always whingeing about
  24. http://au.australianidol.yahoo.com/contestants/chanel_cole/ get out of the house my friend
