  1. he got an exhaust analyser ages ago ;)
  2. if the motor is stock, then you won't have any problems i ran a 3k carb with 4k-c jets on my worked 4k for ages, it pulled 8500rpm no worries. it wasn't ideal, but it worked compression should be 172psi stock, i'd say your motor is in need of a hone and re-ring. but as long as they're all roughly even (within say 10psi of each other) you could use the motor, it just won't be very powerful, fuel consumption will suck, and trying to get power out of it will be a total waste of time
  3. lol mountainview circuit where grafton hillclimbs is held doubles as a go-kart track too ;) and driver training area, which my mum's boyfriend is the instructor of
  4. check my garage page (http://www.superjamie.net/garage/) for a program called jetting.exe, it's designed with sidedrafts in mind, but it could give you a good starting point to at least get the car running
  5. chances are if it leans out at 7 grand you probably won't have enough time to react and shut the key off before the damage is done anyway ;)
  6. i was just trying to help ;) most (all?) o2 sensors work on roughly a 0v to 1v range, the problem is getting them fine tuned so they display accurately, as every brand and model of sensor is slightly different for example the jaycar kit works straight out of the box with a certain model of bosch sensor (i think). say you put an ngk sensor on it, the readings are all out of whack until you get a proper exhaust gas analyser and sit and tune the kit into the new sensor
  7. i ask because: a cheap shitty sensor, uncalibrated, with a jaycar kit hanging off it isn't accurate a brand name air fuel meter that comes with its own closed loop sensor is supposed to be alot better a real exhaust gas analyser is going to be more accurate than either, but we're probably talking 0.2 of a ratio or so. and they also make real-time tuning while you're driving difficult
  8. something like the brand of it would be helpful
  9. does it have any port work? what sort? link to the ZTH post where it's at ;)
  10. they ARE the rich sponsors *jealousy*
  11. or ideally, relocate your coil so it's closer to the engine. cafee has his mounted on his ke30 firewall, with a curly cable (like a pre-tensioned phone cable or something) to the points. it actually looks really trick ;)
  12. september 12-18 is no good for me, every other weekend i'm free :y: so count me in for the 3rd ;) :( just 55 bucks? what time?
  13. i reckon you'd be hard pressed to get a 2 litre turbo engine up over 280km/h, in any car. there is some massive wind resistance at that level, and displacement very quickly becomes the name of the game
  14. expert, not expect ;) and legal or no, early sedan rotor with a big downdraft, that thing would fly! what is the engine? what's done do it? i would also be interested to see more foreign KE corollas and the things people do to them!
  15. your carby guy is full of crap, in a downdraft weber, you change the fuel jets AND air jets AND emulsion tubes to fine tune the mixture across the range of the circuit most people however, just leave the e-tubes as they are, and change fuels until it's mostly right, and fine tune with airs, sometimes changing fuel again (only 1 or 2 steps) if they need to
  16. new kids on the block fook wants to be a skinny white 80s tryhard rapper wear a clock around your neck dude ;)
  17. you've got to be kidding!? where do you get a porsche shell like that? from porsche i guess... how much was it?
  18. the only thing with off the shelf leads is, they only come in 8mm, which has a smaller core. repco leads are the best ones you can buy off the shelf if simon got a 9mm set made up at QIS for 50 bucks, then i'd say that's ideal ;)
  19. i read them, but i don't believe them. sometimes things they say come true, sometimes they don't, i really think it's just sheer probability that things do come true. if you tell someone every day they're going to meet a tall dark handsome man, or come into money or something, then chances are one day you're going to be right i do however hold some belief in astrology. i am almost a textbook example of a cancerian astrology and horoscopes are two totally different things
  20. can you just imagine for one second how it would feel to be one man, on a bit of metal and rope, hanging alone in space? that's incredible... ;)
  21. oh don't get me wrong, i love being a passenger in my mate's 11 second rex, especially when he's racing or doing over 200km/h just cos he can ;) but driving a car is WAY different to just being in a car
  22. no i'm just a bot like that volvo thing on msn, i'm just a really well written one, with some bugs ;)
  23. ;) :y: oh well, there goes half a mil
  24. goddamn, brand new trays just sitting around, you should have sold them to minitruckers, they usually fetch 5 or 6 hundred in used condition
