  1. email QT and they'll provide you with the weight you request. the RTA have emailed me an entire page of corolla stuffs. there's actually a KE20-BD which weighs 790kg in nsw :)
  2. damn, that's a good idea with the caravan doug ;) :)
  3. no, it's not. look at the difference in the position of the divider in the rear quarter window, the angle of the roof, the shape of the mirrors (which look factory on the red car) and the overhang of the bootlids i've always thought it was a honda of some kind
  4. well it's definitely diesel :)
  5. in australia, you'd have to get such a changeover certified by an automotive engineer, so you'd ask your engineer. do you have such a requirement in america? if not, i'd weld up and re-drill the backing plate to suit the strut, or just make a whole new caliper backing plate from the same thickness of steel as the original one. alloy if you're feeling like spending money don't weld and drill the cast strut
  6. ke2x weighs 760kg in nsw 760x2.5=1900, so that's the biggest forced engine you can put in one in qld, a ke20 is heavier, a ke25 is lighter. go figure?
  7. i'd put in whatever engine it had before, less f@$king around with loom and computer welcome to the world of front drivers. if you're working on this car yourself, you will live to regret it. front wheel drive sucks, CV joints are evil you'll also find a newer car is more expensive to maintain, especially one that's getting to that 15 yearold time when important things start breaking. my advice is to stick with a ke corolla
  8. YAY i'm excited!!! ;) can we wear our own helmets? :)
  9. turn the heater on and try kill it
  10. yeah so would i. the zze122 is a nicer car, like the handling is better and the interior is nicer, and f@$k oath they handbrake turn well looks, i dunno, i'd take a stock 112 over a stock 122 any day, but the 122 sportivo is pretty tough, but then again so is the 112 levin. but yeah, the 1zz is a crappy crappy engine, definitely a step backwards for toyota
  11. i like those ae112 cars. they handle okish, a bit boring and prone to understeer, and the wing shape makes them "float" at high speed, but DAMN the 7afe is a top engine. i'd so have gotten one for my ke25 if they weren't so expensive
  12. everyone loves a good CA :)
  13. still not legal in nsw :)
  14. and someone else did this, so yeah i guess they look alright on their guts, but not as a normal truck, or even lowered within the suspension limits. it sucks that you have to bag something to get it to look good
  15. we're actually just having this discussion on subsided at the moment. i think the new luxes look crap. i chopped this...
  16. google mikey, google
  17. not here, and you can still find a fair bit by googling for hilux
  18. andrew in a nissan? NOOOOOOO :) sweet rona you picked up tho, has it been painted yet?
  19. corollas and tight budget go hand in hand my friend :) you can pick up bits cheap off ebay and datsun forums
  20. and if you use a supercheap slide hammer for anything tuff, like axle removal, they will bend like cheese :)
  21. welcome to the next level :)
  22. i hope that's engineered, and has a brake upgrade
  23. rotaries rock  pity our crappy nsw laws won't even let you put a naturally aspirated 12A into a ke20 tho  you could use a 10A (or 10A plates with 12a/13b housings haha) or look for a good piston engine under 2280cc natural, or 1900cc forced. you know you want a CA18DET :jamie:
  24. yes, that's a baffle google "crank scraper", i'd like to see one of them in the rollaclub shop. with some sort of solution for making it seal well around the front and rear main carrier
