  1. well der, they ARE an australian car manufacturer don't forget AU falcons had rust after 6 months, about a million billion gen3 v8s had rebuilds within 40000km, and let's not even discuss older models of each car showing worse signs of wear than my 33 yearold ke25 was
  2. you have to take out the smallest bit, like maybe 10mm next to the driver and at the rear, maybe not even that much. fit the manual box first and see how you go with cutting
  3. keep in mind the massive flares he's running, a ke70 has what, 65mm more front track than a ke20. that's over an inch each side but that does look f@$king tough :D
  4. no, just the shifter hole
  5. hold that thought, there's an 80s lux in my industrial estate for $2500, i might buy that for a parts chaser until i get something decent back onto dattos, i went for a spin tonight in a 1200 ute with an A14 and a blowthru weber turbo. gteched it at 15.5 but it had SO much more in it, the dude who owns it (also named jamie) was scared of breaking stuff, which is fair enough considering it's probably putting 200+hp through the stock diff and gearbox phat ^_^
  6. box the rear above the diff, change to 4 link and bag it. moving the fuel tank is no big deal get new coilovers made and cut the inner guards out, make new tubs from just sheet metal bent in a curve i reckon you could get a corolla to rail easy enough
  7. no strut towers or springs, they have double wishbones and torsions bars in front then dudes cut the rails out at the back and weld those bit notches in. usually when you bag a truck, you swap it to 4 link as well. some really endeavouring people even swap to IRS with bags
  8. that's called a body drop
  9. minitruckers call this "tuck", and is something to strive for i've read about dudes who've sold utes just because they couldn't get them to tuck
  10. P H A T :D
  11. you can't do it with sigma/scorpion bits? i would like to see a rwd 4g63, there's one in the jett racing datto 1200 ute and it's off the hook :D
  12. bah need quicktime i have a movie of the old YLD TOY that i'll post when i get home no idea what happened to it, the plates are on a purple torana now
  13. another real man who isn't scared to change a head gasket every now and then, that's what we like to see. rock on 7M power :D those pinto engines are good donks, david vizard could make close to something like 300hp out of one, naturally aspirated. i wonder how heavy they are, one may go well in a ke70? if you didn't want to spring for an SR, and wanted something different than a 3T or L20B anyway
  14. :D nice intro my personal favorite is the massive stain of bird poo down the windscreen :D when you change to manual, don't cut the trans tunnel until the box is in, you don't need to remove anywhere NEAR as much as you think
  15. this is why we buy the gregories manual for a jap dizzy, it's 0.40mm to 0.50mm, for a bosch dizzy, they say 0.45mm is optimal realistically, i think the smallest gap you can run without problems is the best
  16. the problem is the head, not the gasket
  17. i generally would stay away from anything european, unless you have a severe need to waste money paying premium price for fairly ordinary parts every m3 has also been irs, so it's hardly going to be a bolt in job. check the recent toyota irs conversion someone did to a celica on toymods, fook posted it on here somewhere
  18. ROFL! :D
  19. hahaha look at all the cubic zirconias, it's tempting just to buy that for a laugh :)
  20. yes, there are no differences in splines or carriers across japanese frontloader-style U series diff centers the early ke1/2 ones have a different pinion flange, but you can just change the tailshaft end at the uni. if you're pulling the diff center apart, there are two or three different styles of pinion bearing if you have an australian ke70 with a borg warner U or S series diff, identifiable by the bolt plate on the back, then you're out of luck
  21. don't forget, your trailer needs mags :)
  22. i think you're all being too harsh change the head gasket every 100,000km and a 7M just keeps on truckin and the dude from zoom is making 300kw at the wheels from his 7M-GTE
  23. ke30 and te30 have different front struts and different sized brake rotors, no idea about the calipers and backing plates and rotor bolt pcd it appears there exist ke1x struts with a different backing plate bolt pattern, which is what nardy has
  24. the bolt pattern on the block it's different between auto and manual it's a mitsubishi thing
