  1. a 22R has 103hp and 193 somethings of torque, search for hilux pages in america, these are popular 4x4 engines
  2. you can buy all the 26b shit from mazdaspeed and yeah, it's currently running sevens, they're talking about sixes
  3. wow 79, finland rules :jamie: ours ended in 74, and the ke3x series came out that year too what wheels are on it in the first pic? they look like <99 wrx stockos but they're 4 bolt
  4. yeah heah! :jamie: 13G was the le mans race engine in the mid 80s before they changed the naming convention and it became the 20B the first quad rotor was called the 13J and later became the 26B, used in the late 80s grand tourers
  5. it's always the truckie's fault. i wouldn't drive a heavy truck for a million dollars
  6. any pics of the exterior? that exhaust manifold gives me a cramp in my pants  nice to see you've stuck with a real engine, real seats and real diff. restecp! :jamie:
  7. sounds like your old thermostat was stuck open, just happened to my van a coupla months ago. takes ages to even register anything on the temp gauge, never gets above a quarter, the heater doesn't work very well i don't really think a thermofan is that much of a benefit on a K engine, it will just rev a bit quicker, but if your alternator is stock then it will probably be drawing current away from the ignition, so it's kinda counterproductive i'd put the stock fan and shroud back on but that's just me
  8. fuuuuuuuck yeah!!! that is SOOOOO sexy :jamie: i so know what i want my ke20 to look like now  i thought ke20s ended in 1974? it would probably be somewhere between 70 and 74. does it still have a compliance plate on it? you might be able to have a rough guess from the body number
  9. probably not. corollas and vans have different wheelbase and different diff
  10. i know the guy who has them tho :jamie:
  11. sweeeeet  i love that shape torana, they're like a small car but you can still put stupidly large motors in them if i get rich, i want to get a bathurst history XU1 and put a 20B in it :jamie:
  12. the noise annoys the shit out of me, i hid mine under the floor for that reason and do you really think a little lobe on the cam would really cause that much of a drag on the engine? i must say i didn't notice any difference in mine changing from mech to electric
  13. lol, i didn't even set mine up, rob had them done at carb-tech in brisbane, when they were on his ke25. i just noticed all the bits on mine on the shelf at the redline dealer and wrote down part numbers, but glad you found the info useful  bubble shooter is evil. i did warn you :jamie:
  14. haha yeah, scott drove it home from adelaide to brisbane, then put it around a racetrack that weekend :jamie:
  15. scott hoffman's ke20 has tramp bars that come backwards, and there is like a U that comes down from around the leaf shackle. when the axle tramps, the rods hit the bottom of the U that being said, the thing runs 12s or some bullshit fast time and it hasn't tramped yet. i'm sure he's posted pics of the rear of that car on here, search for posts by user oke020, perhaps looking for keyword "slicks" or "leaves" or "leaf"
  16. read his signature :jamie: and while we're all having the "SU club" showday, here's mine
  17. remove it and get twin SUs :jamie: aisans are piss easy to tune, my old one had better throttle response than most efi cars i've driven. use one without all the emissions crap, just pcv and high speed valve, and run a rich idle with the best vacuum you can get (hopefully 18in/Hg or higher) floating spacers are illegal and dangerous, just cut the brake caliper down with the angle grinder, it's free and it works, the bit that pokes out is there for cooling only. if you swap to ke55 brakes, then you won't have the clearance problem either i had those same wheels on jap calipers on my ke25, then later on ke70 calipers
  18. oh, i thought you guys didn't have any discrepancy? or like 1 or 2 k or something stupidly low
  19. 1 and 3km/h over? man, victoria sucks
  20. i like this suggestion. but two SUs
  21. thank you :jamie:
  22. hahaha. a dude i know in town had a really low VS commodore wagon with 17" chromies. i jokingly said "where's your pursuit rims mate? they're all the go" and in all seriousness he looked me straight in the eye and said "yeah, i want to get some" i fell over
  23. get the fuel tuned properly, if it's not cutting out because the float bowls run dry, then there's no use spending money on an electric pump  wheel bearings are easy. when you do them, put a big of grease in your hand and push the bearing cone onto it (upside down) until it squishes out the other side of the rollers :jamie: or just do what i do and keep tightening them up and don't worry about the big pits in the rollers
  24. do it in any car. it's not about the car, it's about the driving. from what fook's told me, you'd be surprised of the number of crappy stock cars that people get out there and absolutely kick ass in. quit saying "one day" just do it :y: do you need a road regsitered car to go in one of these days?
  25. YUCK FEAH =)  !!! :y:
