  1. stewart put the custom CASs for his megasquirt in the crank pulley. it was the easiest thing to get off at the time
  2. haha it's a cover plate cos the owner of the first engine got pissed off with the distributor leaking so he sealed it off :jamie: j/k
  3. with a car like that, it becomes less about the vehicle itself, more about the parts that are in it. like that ke30 with the insane engine and big frontmount and the gtr and evo wheels. sure it's nice, but it's a corolla in looks only i just like the fact this guy is going all out and still using a 3S instead of the usual nissan offering :jamie:
  4. start drilling K motor cam pulleys to degree the cam back and forth say, 3 to 5 degrees each way. another exchange part :jamie:
  5. that's the only way you'd do it, you'd run out of sumps pretty quick i reckon
  6. it wouldn't be street legal not without registering your car as an Independantly Constructed Vehicle, which would mean making the car compliant with all CURRENT ADRs and getting about 10 to 15 grand of chassis stress and emissions testing done. for the amount of money you'd spend, it wouldn't be worth it there was a ke20 in adelaide getting around with an unengineered rb30de conversion for a while, they just cut a massive hole in the firewall
  7. wow that looks like a really need car :jamie: how massive is the radiator tho!
  8. rollaclub sump, exchange only :jamie:
  9. i used to like computers, then i started working with them, now i feel the same way. i don't mind helping out friends and family, but that's about where i draw the line i had one of those little "quote per day" calendars at my last job, i have a few good ones i stuck on my pinboard at home. one of them is
  10. haha 20 read the faq, it's up there for a reason don't go past 12
  11. i'd just do it to piss off all the v8 bogans who think rotaries are unreliable and shithouse i'm sick of sitting at willowbank and having to listen to some beer-gutted faggot in a ford shirt or a hsv cap laugh his slow drawl and say "er that sound means the chicken's ready" and then whatever mazda it is runs a f@$king 9 second pass, while the v8s have been running 12s all day and that's quick. then he'll drive home in his stock six cylinder family car, which he drives around believe he represents his manufacturer of choice, and his shitbox is somehow related to any of the cars on the dragstrip by something more than an emblem and a wheel stud pattern yes, i have issues :jamie:
  12. haha f@$k yeah  :) damn that's quick, i'd love to go for a spin one day look at that little thing twist up the bags  and of course, the obligatory droop tip :jamie: rock on scott, rock on oke020
  13. toycrash is the new king of google :jamie: that's for n/a motors tho. the forced 1G-GTE and GZEs may be stronger. you'll notice later generation smallport 4AGEs (and GZEs) have a 20mm wrist pin, whilst the early bigports are 18mm
  14. interesting read, i knew a bit of that already the electronics bit confuses me :jamie:
  15. i know :jamie:
  16. yeah, it's something i've never been able to find either. maybe a mechanic at an importers could tell you, or lexus dealer service would have access to manuals that would have it
  17. well, nick's giving two or three away at the moment. i've seen countless ones for giveaway, or for next to nothing, over the years
  18. not off hand, but it could possibly be in the ACL piston catalog, which you can download in pdf off their website http://www.acl.com.au/ from memory it's not in there tho. i googled and found something i wrote myself on this message board :jamie:
  19. er, the guy who makes the all toyota day happen? he's the australian president of the rising sun collectors register, and if you google around, you'll find their msn group, and his mobile number is on that, in the for sale section. if you're that curious
  20. RM1000 = AUD$350 which is about what a 5k is worth here too
  21. it's just a stock 4k engine, who cares? they're so common around here, you get them for free. i actually own that engine now, it's sitting in my garage with no head and i was just going to throw it away...
  22. so rb20 pistons are of a smaller bore than 5k pistons? you'll make less torque with less capacity. i'd say it's more trouble and expense than it's worth really the weak point isn't the pistons, it's the rods and crank. some people reckon you can use 1G rods and pistons in a 4K, so you'd be able to use the rods in a 5K generally you can force just under half a bar into a stock K engine and it won't effect it too much. wind that up to say 10psi and things will go bang regularly
  23. you probably won't kill it a mate of mine had a 4k with dead rings, so he got a new engine and decided to kill the old one before taking it out. he started the car and put a brick on the accelerator and let it sit there for about 20 minutes. the engine didn't die, so he chucked the new spare in the boot and drove the car home, and swapped the engine there
  24. my stock 3k in my stock ke35 would get up to 150km/h, going down a hill with a big run up. the worked 4k in my lowered ke25 would do over 200km/h on flat road, no problems
  25. how much are you paying for ACLs? my 060 4k pistons were $161.90 repco cost price skyline pistons? they go in a 5k? from what engine?
