an old performance trick, increases the plenum area, quite common on carbed v8s and stuff i did the same thing with my weber adapter on my old 3k

the engine number is 5k, the crank is stamped 4k

have a read of the faq hey :D you could use the 3k carb, it won't be ideal but it will run tearing ALL the emissions crap off will make it run pretty badly, and you won't have the vacuum secondary carb. unless you're willing to sit down and figure out what everthing does and what you can remove or re-route or plug off, just leave it fuel pump will be fine yes, you can steal the double row timing gears and chain from the 3k and put them on your 5k crank and cam. very observant =)
