  1. What i meant was i bet they have still used the same bottom end but just decompressed it and put a different head on it.

    The Kesev!

Most tounges will fit but some have a slightly sharper bend and some have the holes positioned differently, Des if you need 1 give me a yell as there are a few at my dads house.
  3. No it happens for neumerous reasons, The 4AGE has 3 temp senders/sensors (1 guage, 2 ECU), This has been covered on TC.org a couple of times, Here's 1: Link To Unstable Idle
  4. I bet they have used the same layout that they did for the diesel.
  5. Its been covered, Double post: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...mp;#entry152254
  6. No worries.
  7. Yes they are the same (with a GZE you turn the plate around so the starter is on the other side) just make sure the starter is on the same side.
  8. You also gotta look at the fact that a diesel engine normally has a compression ratio anywhere around 18.0:1 so running it at 10.0:1 is regarded as a decompressed engine, If you were to halve the C/R on a gze I'm pretty sure you could run around the 40psi mark safely (Backyarder runs 30psi reduced from 40psi in his 4AGTE 20v and runs 10's), And i doubt that you would be able to push much more from VW, Have you ever driven a turbo diesel, The new nissan navara has a 100kw diesel yeah it might be heavy but at the end of the day a diesel uses forced induction to aid it through the rpm range, I'm yet to see a full-on performance car based with a diesel. EDIT: Ha just realised the VW GT is A Petrol :jamie:
  9. That sounds hot.
  10. No worries mate.
  11. Check your water level and your temp senders, Its hunting which is usually caused by the ecu receiving a false signal to say its cold and then when water comes through it goes to normal temp which explains the constant rise and fall, I have actually experimented with mine one day when i did a cooling system flush.
  12. There are actually 2 versions of the bigport (As Medicine_Man pointed out before), The "Blue and Black Top" (3-rib block) and the "Red And Black Top" (7-rib block) both been identified by the TVIS badge or you can identify them by the spark plug cover (will get to that shortly). 86kw Blue and Black top bigport 3-rib (AE82) - 1st generation: 86kw Red and Black top bigport 7-rib (AE92 '88) - 2nd generation: Now it comes to the smallport 7-rib 100kw engine which can be identifed by the plain ribbed inlet manifold and the spark plug cover: 100kw Red and Black top smallport 7-rib (AE92 '89) - 3rd generation: This should be able to expalin it quite easily as to what engine you have, Are you able to post a pic of it at all.
  13. Going by your name id expect you to be the owner, can't you contact the previous owners and find some stuff out about it?
  14. Eh 3K's are a dime a dozen who cares if you hold it in 2nd anyway.
  15. :hmm: :) :lolcry: Couldnt of said it better.
  16. Who ever stamped the plate had it all wrong then :hmm: Found a pic of KE50's old KE50: KE50's Homepage
  17. No worries mate, Good luck, Might pay to put it in the FAQ if you find it.
  18. If its any help the 86-90 & 86-89 GZE had a C/R of 8.0:1 and the 89-91 & 91-95 had a C/R of 8.9:1
  19. It is better to have the heater hose join up from the water pump to the thermostat so it can circulate that way you prevent corrosion and coolant build up.

    Rice Discussion

Yeah 1 of my favourite cars was CRT's (Craig Thompsons) twin turbo v8 torana, But Robert is down grading to a 202  I'm just getting a bit sick of the attitude and comments that some of the new people here are getting and its not coming from the MODS, If they want this club to expand a few members should learn some respect, Input is good but bagging IMO isnt nice especially when you have put time and effort into your pride and joy and probably 70% out of everyone here can say that there 1st car was an experiment i sure know mine was as it was a californian mini moke when i was 10 and then i moved onto the KE55 panelvan which had a hornet scoop and other things that you wouldnt dream about putting on a corolla now days so i think everyone should remember stuff like that before they criticise.

    Rice Discussion

Hmmm turning aussie muscle into a smaller blowdrier is also classed as rice. Boost and pushrods = Bogan, you might aswell buy a nissan exa turbo.
  22. It is for your ignition system some of the older cars (eg the vk commodore) had a separate electronic control module for your distributor not sure if yours is factory or not but all i did with mine was throw in an electronic ignition (HEI) and threw the rest out as it ran better.
  23. Lookin good dude, Nice and clean.
  24. (sorry to flood, last post in this topic) Yeah i had to laugh aswell, I had to pick up a V-Twin for 1 of the machines for work and it was from the Briggs & Stratton Daihatsu Corporation so i looked into it and seen that they make alot of the 2 and 3 cylinder vanguard engines.
  25. So this is actually running a toyota 4K engine, Bit different to the normal daihatsu briggs and stratton (yes thats who makes them).
