  1. Is the 15 minutes 1/4 mile run with a fully worked 3K running a nitro/supercharged dipstick, and a ported/polished chrome plated rocker cover? I did hear that if the heater fan is put into turbo-reversed forward drive setting, you could get it down to 14 minutes and 60 seconds. Food for thought.
  2. I have somewhere an old Wheels write up for the TE 37 somewhere. Looking a m newly installed bookshelf, I found an intereurope Workshop manual 146 - Toyota Corolla 1100, 1200, 1400, 1600 manual ; A Haynes Toyota Corolla manual for 1967 to 1974 :, A Gregorys Corolla Manual as well. Nothing exciting about that, but I did find a Toyota Motor Sales for Toyota Corolla repair manual KE7_, TE7_ Aug.1979 Chassis, A Green T series Engine Repair manual, Jun 1976 and a chassis/Body books for Corolla and Trueno 30 series. I don't have a scanner as of yet, but if someone needs anything out of them, I can see what I can do. Cheers Morgs
  3. Wrong type of tape. Bit of racetape and she'll be right mate.
  4. Brilliantly done. Both tracks are great, but do have to say, Induction noise was always music to my ears
  5. Well, you could build one up with the mazda rims, and another with the enki's
  6. Sir I envy you and your beautiful vehicle, and congratulate you. Nice work :)
  7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36wz35rBFw8 Yes, it does look good but i have a soft spot for this little beastie. Shame i had to sell mine. SHould have gotten rid of the first wife instead.
  8. That is the same Corolla TE37. Alexandra bought it and raced it, from speaking to her father many years ago. I had that shell for a while, till i sold it. I think it was in a roll over, because it had "Liverpool" written in chalk on the inside of the roof, as the shell had no rooflining when i got it. Alexandra's dad still had bit of a race prepped 2TG then, don't know if he still has it tho. From what i gathered, the 37 was brought in by Ling Gowan Toyota, Tasmania, and was the 37 they did an article in Wheels or Modern Motor in 74/75? I kick myself every now and then that i sold that shell, let alone smashed my 27. Ah, youth, wasted on the young.
  9. Mark Thatcher, son of Margaret Thatcher raced a TE 37 at Bathurst but from memory, oil problems dropped it out of the race. I used to have the body shell for a few months and have a photo copy of the Cams paper work somewhere. don't remember any 25's in Bathurst tho. TE27's - i heard a story 12 were imported to Australia in the 70's. I know at least one 37 was imported. Have the Wheels/Motor magazine with the article about it.I used to own a 27. Rumor was it was the Melbourne motor show 27 but i could not confirm it. It now lives out Penrith way.
  10. DROOL!!!! Please send it my way, and i guarantee to pamper it with TLC :(. How come other people can find 25's and i never see one
  11. http://www.toymods.org.au/site/ Here you go mate
  12. Steve HATES me with a passion. Had money, wanted a KE25. None about. No money, see a few gems around. Now i have no money, and no KE25's around for me to dream about. So tempted to sell all my other hobby stuff just to raise the cash for there to be NO corollas i like for sale, then blow the cash on the house instead :(
  13. The only pic i have of my baby before i got married. Yeah, i know, does not fit in, as it is a TE, not a KE. From memory, Stock 2TG with sequential Mikuni carbs, 5 speed, with non original front flares, non original interior and mixed rims. Was fun to drive, wish i had it back again.
  14. Nice 25 Mate :0 Reminds me of my first strolla - Mazda Rx4 rims, a Ken Lang 4K with twins and a 1 and 3/4 inch exhaust. Same color - Bamboo Yellow, or as my sister used to say, Baby crap yellow. Looking forward to seeing more :)
  15. Well, just my 2 cents worth...... Something like your Gem, i wouldnt go 4AGE, but 3TGTE with a manual box. Yep, old school donk, but maybe less hassles than a 4 AGE Turbo. "Yes Constable Plod, it IS the original motor sir. See? The numbers match :o " Just my opinion, but then again, this is from a previous owner of 16+ corollas including a TE27.
  16. What used to make me happy was cruising in my TE27 and going nowhere in patricular, just cruising.
  17. WarningWhat i may say may not be agreeable to some who may read this. I worked with the cops for 11 1/2 years. I was not a cop, nore am i a cop and never will be one. They have a thankless job that i would/could never do, but take the uniform off, and they are human like us. Not quite sure with highway guys, but with General Duties guys and gals, more so. In a situation like what happened, the best thing to do is, if approached by one or more, don't act arrogant or smart with them. Treat them how you would like to be treated. Be courteous, be polite, respect the person, but don't make their job any tougher. A number of times, probably 10 or more times, i had been pulled over in the past by Police Officers for speeding, knowingly driving a vehicle that is defective, etc. Each time i spoke to the officer with respect, and the usual yes sir, no sir, sorry sir, didnt know sir yadda yadda yadda and got away with it. If they say your tyres are bald, "sorry sir, i didnt know that, i will go home and change them/get new ones. Thank you for pointing that out" The Police i used to work with were just plain old sick and tired of being first at a scene for fatalities/major injuries/reporting to families about little johnny being dead or badly injured. Remember, there are always 2 sides to the coin mate. Cheers
  18. From what i can gather, there was more than 1 TE27Levin imported in the 70's. Story i was told was 12 were imported to OZ in the 70's, may need some following up. From memory, there were no TE27's that ran at Bathurst, but i could be wrong about that one. I owned a genuine TE27 Levin for a few years before i listened to a now ex wife. Matching numbers on the chassis and the japanese build tag on the right inner engine bay. Front flares were wrong, and the front and rear lights were wrong as well. Twin carbies were also sequential :( It has had a few owners since( don't know how many tho), and an older bloke out west has spent a motza rebuilding it. Not original motor or box, as the wrecker i sold it to seperated them and sold them off. TE37's? Well, there was one that i know of that was prepped for Mark Thatcher, son of the original Iron Lady of England. It too had a few owners and i did get the shell, but typical me, seperated the lot. It was a bare shell when i got it, with a sprtinter disc rear end as a spare and levin tail lights and bonnet. We wont go any further about what i did with it, as i am kicking myself about the 27, let alone the 37.
  19. Many things i have done are stupid. Must have a hidden middle name of stupid, but here are 3: Drove from Sydney to Melbourne in 6hrs and 45 minutes for a $50 dare, back in 1989. This included fuel stops, pitstops and the like in a 1974 KE25. The Hume Highway was sure as hell not as good as it is now, and there were less cameras and highways patrol cars then. Bought a written off KE20 for $500 and stripped it. From the firewall back, there was no rust at all. 70,000 miles and a pristine interior. From the firewall forwards, all the panels were stuffed. The lady driver, second owner kissed someone's butt. Instead of fixing it, i stripped it, and threw out a nice shell. Most painful and stupid thing i have done. Got married. Nah, second most stupid thing. OK, i owned a TE27 Levin. It was a daily driver. I smacked a cressida and wrote both cars off. I had agrued with my then wife that i wanted/needed to restore the car. Nope, she would not be into it. Paid $8,000 to the guy i hit, sold the Levin for a couple of hundred bucks, and regretted it ever since. stupid with a CAPITAL S. 13 yrs later, no Levin, but also no wife number 1. Man i want a 25/27 :(
