Axle Code Translator Pretty basic really - just plug in your diff code letter and three numbers and it spits back the crown wheel diameter, final drive (gear ratio) and what the centre is Can also click on the link at the bottom of the calculation "Calculate gearing for this axle", there's not really much choice in gearboxes but the ratios can be fiddled with so that the Speedo drive gear can be worked out and also the rpm to road speed can be worked out. Yeah i'm fairly sure its been done a few times but i just can't be bother searching for it

Not a complaint or anything. But i'd sooner use an analog display (read as a needle display like the speedo) over a digital read out display cause in the heat of the moment remembering what the "safe" numbers are on the digital can be forgotten whereas if the analog is set with the needle pointing up at its "safe" position and a glance at the gauge will quickly and easily show any problems. The same can be said for the oil pressure sender - run a T-piece so that both pressure senders can be used. One for the gauge and the other for the light. The oil pressure light can catch the eye a lot quicker then the glance at the gauge when remembered. And one of the reasons for choosing electric over mechanical is that the sensor for the temp gauge is connected to the gauge and the pressure gauges (eg - oil, fuel) needs tubing running from what ever to the gauge and needs care to be taken for kinks, splits. Whereas electric its a simple matter of running a couple of wires. Dimmable lighting for the gauges - find out which side of the rheostat, thing for dimming the dash lights are on and splice in both wires for your gauge. More then likely will need the wiring diagram for the dash cause the ground (or negative) wires go through the rheostat. If its not done correctly the lights will either stay on , not come on or will not dim down and/or turn off when the dimmer knob is turned right down. Cheap gauge cover - depending on the size of the gauge but a tow ball cover is nice and cheap. Just make up the bracket from a couple of pieces of alloy, if needed. Good write up Evan :thumbsup:

TR-1B two seat trainer At the height it was flying it would of been traveling close to its top speed to stay afloat. And as 7shades said the pace car is there to tell the pilot the distance from the runway and at the correct height the pilot hits the stall speed and hits the tarmac. It was the only way for the pilots to land otherwise the "air cushion" will keep the plane up. Very awesome footage, thank Toy-Yoda :lol:

Everybody that got the '09 calender said just how good it was and not sending pictures, placing orders thats a real let down in the interest for the '10 edition people considering Jon had upped the ante for the '10 calender and we all knew it. And in a way if thats the response to the hard work that Jon put into the calendar..... Almost feels like it. Didn't get the kids off to bed till about 9:30 - 10 and they'll be rampaging the unit again around 5:30. The heats annoying but at least the bunnies aren't bad :P

From what i'm aware of is that the trimatic has a different output shaft whereas the A20 (? - two speed auto) shares the same output shaft pattern as the manual. Length of the tailshaft - i can't really quote on the length between the 2 speed auto and the manual, i'm yet to find out but i'd say it would be. But the shafts between the trimatic and the manual are the same

Urm, depends on which area your talking about with the curve. Before i did the speaker mounts i was test fitting the shelf into a ke55 that i had Its what i'm figuring on i'm also thinking that the ground wire has also been connected to a wire for the dash lights, they don't dim down at all.

Turtle sitting in the driveway....." do me do me" So i did I did start the shelf when i got my old '55 but wound up cracking into other parts of the wreck along with what can be seen in the background. Anywhat, making up a bit of a list on things i want done after our trip south. Like the stereo - i've a feeling its been hooked up wrong, there's no memory (which i'd say there's no constant 12v) and every time the key gets flipped on the dash lights come on.... Also want to see if its got a thermostat. Takes a good while for it to heat up some days. Electronic ignition - be gone the points gap system Been scooting to work and back driving the turtle like a two speed manual at the moment. The shifter needs to be re-aligned but i'm not too worried at the moment. Thanks JiP, you've given me a sigh of relieve with the x-member. Went out and measured the lengths of the x-member to the end of bellhousing on both the fve speed and the auto and their both about the same - given i was looking at the measurement for the auto at an angle

Most times if you get a written quote, its what they have to stick to. But yeah its happened to me, namely on the "unexpected things" I've learnt - ask for the old replaced parts And question why the heck did the 4age head gasket cost $350 for ??? Oh yes i'm pretty sure i still have the repair invoice floating around somewhere.
