  1. good on ya, Ive never owned a running KE10, sweet!
  2. Yep they are. With the deep dish rims on they petrude out from the guard a bit. Was on the car when I got it.
  3. Well heres my KE38 ( It IS a rusty relic) as posted before. We took it out and on a drift corner *on dirt* the right strut gave way and pushed the tire up into the drivers foot well pushing the excellerator on, loosing control through the bush, smashin down trees, poped tire and bent rim later... :D ... it needs a car trailer to go home! whoopsy, been sitting too long! I'll put some KE55 struts in it now. You can just see the path of destruction... BTW: I didnt actually want this to happen. Mate was driving.
  4. I finally have my delorto installed! woo hoo, just have to finish the linkage and off i go!
  5. Too easy, I'll take it off when were done n let ya know
  6. Does this members area say what condition ure KE20 has to be in???? ... .. . Ok kewl, well heres my little beauty lol! Bought new back in 72 nearly everyone in my family has learnt to drive in her. With a 3K-H engine, 4 speed box and slipping clutch shes still a goer. 12" tires are getting harder to come by so the rally driving days are over. Saved from a bush fire in 98 ( back lights were just catching fire when the brigade came) and last regoed in 84, I got her going in 2002. With genuine 72'000 kms on it (on the road from 72 to 84, sat from 84 to 2002) its still goin good, has MPH dash, lots of rust, working lights and dash fan I got it going sitting in the long grass on my grandfathers property. don't know why it sat from 84 onwards, believe there was a death in my family and the car was just left.......
  7. Name: Gomez Car: 82' KE70 Motor & Driveline: 4K-C, 4 speed with Diff from Auto Suspension & Brakes: Stock, Non functional rear brakes, handbrake only lol Wheels & Tyres: Their 13" from a Toyota Van Interior: Did some home job on it Body: very very mild rust, quite straight, original metallic paint Other: 4Y intake with pod. Old lady's car from new. Business man bought it with 6 months rego, flogged it for a week till diff blew and spent 5 months 3 weeks sitting in damp area registered. I got it 4 months out of rego, thoroughly cleaned it, changed diff, put intake on (bit of a joke actually) and use it as a wet season drifto! Actually goes really hard for stock! :D
  8. Me too! Its the only model KE that I have never owned!
  9. Hi Guys, this is my project: 81 KE 55 Sedan, it had been sitting round the back of the guys house for years. It didnt go, flat tires, blocked tank, stuck brakes etc.. Paid $300 for it with the deep dish jelly beans and 5 speed. Since owning it (6 months) I put new carpet in it, registered, a sound system and some other stuff. Most importantly I bought a partially rebuilt 4K engine that had the following done to it: Ported Head Balanced (block was sent down south) Billet Lumpy cam with 292 lift 20thou over size flat top pistons etc... Heaps more was done however myself and mates assembled it and put new dizzy, fuel pump, performance clutch, leads, iridium plugs, pacemakers, etc on it. Had 2" exhaust with sports muffler installed ($380). Have been running stock carby however just got the delorto back and heres a pict with the linkage kit and air cleaner installed. I have spent so much on the carby setup its a joke! (Over $500) Just have the throttle setup to go. Sounds sooo lumpy now and hates idling below 900rmp! Some picts of inside as well. Ive posted a couple on this site b4.
  10. A mate told me about an old corolla thats about to get dumped, I got the address and went over that day. Its was this 79 KE38. I havent seen such a rusted corolla before. Got the car trailer, loaded it up and took it home. Last registered in 1992, last used in 1993. Still has the key in the ignition. The engine was seized, 4 blown out tires, no brakes, heat and rust f**ked. We've spent this week mucking around with it, Diesel got it unseized. Its a runner! Even charges the battery. Put extractors on it cause the original exhaust was rusted up to the manifold, bloody radio with that underdash speaker works! Put another carby on it, removed the thermostat tidied it up - woo hoo! Takin it out for a bush bash this weekend. Whats sooooo anoying that that everyone just wants to hit it! Cave the guard in or write something on it with a screw driver! AHH!
  11. In 1957 the car was buried to celebrate some special date (50 yrs of federation or something), it was a Brand new V8 Plymouth Sports Coupe dontated by the local car dealer, it actually had Zero miles on it. In 2007 it was to be dug up, 50 yrs later. They had a competition in 57 for them to guess the population of the town in 2007. The competition rules and a ton of entrants answers and addresses were sealed in a thick container along with plates and a flag n shit inside the car. Basically the deal is that in 2007 it would be dug up, the closest answer, the car and a $100 bank account with 50yrs interest went to the lucky person or their closest living relative. In the boot was a couple gallons of leaded fuel, some oil n shit incase fuel wasnt around today. Some other crap like womans shit in the glove box just to shut em up in 57 so they can be apart of it all i guess was included lol! (unpaid parking ticket as well) Over the 50 yrs the top cracked and let water it, in the 80's there was a flood that didnt help so the ol car got wet....... the rust ate the rear springs away, the original tires pumped up. In 98 they put another car in a container as well, above ground with dirt over it this time....
  12. Some random photos that I took of some random things around me including: Burnout in my mates XF My 9yr old bird My 75 GC Galant Fuel price Mates etc...
  13. White - 78 KE55 Orange - 72 KE20 Yellow - 79 KE55 - trying to get it going n12 Pulsar
  14. Its a shame that down south its quite strict, the laws are a major reason the older cars are getting put off the road. In the N.T we love our older cars, theres Corollas and Dattos etc everywhere, good luck with getting ures on the road and keep at it, every extra carby car on the road is a bonus I reckon, and don't run that flash lube, I ran it in my KE35 (3K) and ended up with hard starting and a wet pipe after a couple months (using correct amount). I have a KE70 in a shipping container that I'll re-register in about 5 years providing they don't introduce some new law....
  15. From that to this and not a K on the clock, just 50 years!
  16. Nah, a waste is a video on Utube of a bunch of itiots wrecking a really nice looking KE70 auto that had wheels and was lowered, they rallied it around a gravel pit till it missed, jaming it in first from reverse then burnt it! :-( Thats a waste. Not a waste is: Getting a L300 auto and jumping it....
  17. Sorry to see this. I'm the only Corolla Driver in my group so I know how its anoying to see them wrecked! Good Luck.
  18. LOL at that! Thats Kewl, does the entire horn button come off to take the AE93 wheel off cause I have one in my seca.
  19. I'm going to run a redline manifold and Delorto double barrel carby. Just getting the linkages for 4K made for it now. I'm using the standard manifold and carby at the moment, the carby actully cannot give enough fuel! The head has been ported so much that the pacemaker extractors actually act as restriction because their not wide enough lol!
  20. hey everyone, the engine is in! Runs sweet, all new points, plugs, leads, condensor, all the stuff! Idles at 900RPM, snaps to 5000rpm, getting the exhaust made for it this week $500 or so later!
  21. repco spanners alltrade sockets - only work on corollas so they work well
  22. Hi everyone. I have a fully rebuilt and mildly worked 4K engine. It has flat top pistons 20thou oversize Custom made billet cam Extensively ported head Pacemaker extractors and all the inside stuff done to it I bought the engine like this and am continuing the project Since owning it ive put a: new fuel pump on dizzy, new points, cap, rotor and polished the dizzy alternator Rockers and other odds and ends. The engine is going in my 81 KE55. I'm after a couple new parts, none available genuine so if you know of where some are available (NEW only) then let me know - include a web address or phone number. Intake/Exhaust manifold studs and nuts Head Bolts Lifters Push Rods anything you can recommend :P Cheers, rolla.
  23. I have an SX. They are showing a few problems nowadays eg: Gear Selectors, Rear Hatch Seals, Suspension and sensor problems. All of which mine has except the hatch seal leak :-(
