Yeah mate thats how it works. It was insured for 5k with mild 5k and twin su's. Then I told em it was blown, efi blah blah, left it at that price. When it cam time to renew policy they rang and advised me that the car was "under insured" Offered me $8500 which I said yes. But was probably just an upsell I suppose. Haha shannons would be the only company that would know a 4door like yours even existed. Stu.

Shannons FTMFW!!!!! I automatically have salvage and it's insured for more than it owed me as of 3months ago. Told me they'd be happy with an almost 20k agreed value when it's turbo'd, trimmed and painted. Stu.

I built the engine, know all engine specs and most bolt-ons except injector size. Lol 4agze ae101 block and crank. Spool conrods SPS pistons ARP head and main studs AE-82 bigport head, big valves, port cleanup and huge valve springs. Custom exh manifold Custom inlet manifold, big throttle body Garrett gt2860rs Tial 38mm external wastegate Microtech lt12(I think) with 4bar map sensor. HUGE custom grind cams I built it for 35ish psi just fired and ran cams in yesterday. With STD 4agze engine and the same turbo, manifolds, ecu etc. Made 180rwkw at 18psi. Injector size is more about how much power more than how boost you are running. Stu.

Cheers for that. I had a good look, got my autoelec looking into it. I reckon if I ran two either front and back of crank or front of crank and off camshaft I could easily get it to work. I've located a dual pulse CAS to borrow/copy/work out stuff. Thanks Taz!!! Stu.

antipump = hydro. Not solid. What you want is chevy SB/Holden v8 SOLID lifters. Not factory type ones solid aftermarket ones. Stu.

Feeling your pain!! I had a bit of strife setting up the su's years ago. Took it to a shop that dealt with historic rally cars was overrated from then untill I took em off Good to hear it's running again. I hope she's a bit quieter? Looks awesome too. Keeping the meshi's? They do look good on the car. Nice zuk man. Mate had a 750 in the yellow too. Damn nice bike to ride. Stu.

How much power do you want to make? What fuel, 98 or e85? Just put a forged 4agte together for a mates k-sev race car. It makes about 230rwkw with a really big Garrett gt28 on 15psi and huge camshafts. I'll ask what size he is running. Stu.

Correct me if I'm wrong Mitch-12. But the injector drivers in the sprint 500 will only take injectors that are over 8ohm. Stu.

Well I have the HKS turbo I'll post photos up when I get home. Yeehaa!!!!!!!!

Because gapless rings are normally atleast twice the price of normal rings. But if you can justify the difference in price then go for them. But from experience(I have em in my 5k) if everything isn't perfect it might breath pretty heavy(i think it rattled a bit when the injectors were too small and lost top ring tension)Not sure but think mine are "total seal". "Pacific engine parts" can convert your second ring to gapless. Or most speed shops that deal with "total seal" should be able to help. You could even try a different engine. But don't forget ring widths and radial depths can change a heap from engine to engine. Stu.

Just spend 20mins and pull the locking barrel out out the door(easiest one). That's if it's the same as ignition and take it too any local locksmith. My key was too far gone on my ke-11, so I had to take the door lock down so they could cut the key to the barrel. Cost me $80 for two keys. Stu

Sounds like a plan I'll let you know when I've got the manifolds done and starting to wire up the haltech. Thanks Stu.
-
Cheers Evan. All good ideas. But I'll still need to org a cap with a bearing in it to support the cut down dizzy shaft so it will still turn the oilpump. That will take me a halfy to make. Stu.
-
That's good to know. Which will mean if I use that I'll have to grab em before I fabricate manifolds and dump pipe from the turbo. I wonder if tazrx has mount issues. Ke30 ones are the same as ke-55. It's starting to look like I might just make some indestructible ones and see if I can get a bit more room for the turbo too. Win win. But ill keep everyone in the loop if I do. Stu.

Considering that with a cam angle pick-up in the timing cover. Or the crank trigger in behind the flywheel for stealthness. But wouldn't a dual pulse cas like a 13b turbo one converted to run in a "k" series dizzy work? Still new to setting up efi stuff. Its usually just the engines I do.lol. Stu.

Yep left one is fairly torn and the right one ain't far behind it. I checked them when I had the motor out doing the sc/efi setup and they were perfect, so i reused them. I've probably done maybe 2500kms if I'm lucky and this result. But I still have to say that they would have been well over 15 years old though. I'll let you know if decide to make a set or two. If well worked and low boost 5k's are braking em frequently then what hope does the new setup have. Thanks for the link parrot I can't believe I missed em and cheap too. I had thought I'd clicked for international sellers. I even google searched them. Stu.

While sorting out my dummy engine for my 5kte setup I realized my engine mounts were both broken. I am having big trouble trying to get the through "makay's" or "kelpro". Makay have one side but not the other(I'm not buying one and having to make the other) Just wondering if anyone knows of any other suppliers of these that would be great. Just trying to use all posibilities before I decide to make em. Stu.
-
Still not sure exactly what I'm going to use. I still may only use one and an external ignighter dizzy. But seeing as I can run full sequential, it may be well worth making stuff to make it happen. Just for drivability etc. Stu.

And for those that didn`t get a chance to check it out here we are. some goodies that came with the haltech. stu.

Nice work Mitch. Where are the dyno vids???????????? Stu.

Aaarrrrhhhhh. My mate was too hung over this weekend to go down to the factory so I could finish his 4agte. So wasn't able to grab the new turbo. On inspecting the engine mounts when bolting them to the 4k(dummy engine) they are both broken of varying degrees. They are the same as ke-20 ones but have been told that they can only get one side. Which is no good to me if anyone can help that would be great. Stu.
-
Sweet. Reckon you'd have the parts out of the other 28 you have to make it all happen. Oh I might be getting the new turbo today so I'll post pics this arvo. Stu.

Yeah man just undo the bolts for the housing clamps very slightly. Be carefull not undo it too much as it will give it a chance to cock over a nick the wheel. Then just turn it all to suit. That works for both housings. Check for clearance issues as it looks like it's out of a ke3x-5x which have a wider bay than a ke-1x. But it can all be adjusted to suit when you have a base to work Fromm. Stu.

WOW just saw some shots of this in ZOOM from jambo. Hope that was the only drama from the event. Stu.
