  1. http://www.precision...ands.aspx?ID=53 "Endurotec® pistons are sourced from various world class suppliers. Make no mistake, these pistons are not seconds or factory rejects and are all manufactured from quality eutectic alloys with T5 heat treatment that are basically the same as many other premium brands. Every Endurotec® piston set comes complete with comprehensive fitting instructions including piston to bore clearances and are presented in dynamic Endurotec® livery." Sounds like you could be getting anything with endurotec "livery" on them. I can't see a problem if the price is right.
  2. And here is why carbon fibre stuff costs so much... follow on for part 2 and 3... part 2 at 10mins for awesome infusion
  3. Reason i was trying to fit an s series was my borgy was dead, and my mate had an S series. I gave up after finding no tailshaft to suit, ended up having another mate with a free borgy so i just threw that in.
  4. Does it need to be the square type? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-COROLLA-KE30-KE36-KE55-BRAKE-MASTER-CYLINDER-/130673912527?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e6cc5aacf Who have you asked to service yours? if you are in brisbane i woudl point you towards "mastercylinder exchange" in wynnum. they basically bore out the old one and put all new stuff inside. cost a bit though.
  5. I'd just get either the tailshaft modded or a new one. i went through what you are going through trying to put an S series in my ke70, couldnt find anything oem to bolt it to my K series box. Delow's conversions will sell you the ra60 yoke (if you don't have one), get it welded on and balanced and you are off! A completly new one peice tailshaft only cost my mate about $400 for his spoontah.
  6. if you punch this into google, you can tell google to search a specific website, so then you only get results from rollaclub.com "T series diff into KE : rollaclub.com"
  7. genuine for those is over 300bucks. also nardi isnt ADR approved, the only ones are momo and isotto ? i think. you can't beat a nardi classic though, untill you get a defect :(
  8. We've all seen the full size hobby, How about miniturised?
  9. Wicked! i hope hes got a bigger engine or some serious reduction. The 1.3L wont get you far with those wheels and what appears to be wider diffs?
  10. depends who you ask ;) Though i wasn't there this year, been the last 7yrs or so.
  11. I dunno about you guys, whenever i see a ruckas, i have the urge to make ruckas puns. "man that guy is causing such a ruckus" "hah, look at how much of a ruckas toyota made with that car" ah i need to get a life.
  12. I enjoyed lukeAE71's comment in that thread though :P
  13. At one stage i had a fibreglass bonnet on my s15, "Just cars" were happy to insure me with it on, but in the event of a crash they would only replace it with a standard one. (full comp insurance) I don't think it was legal though, was just some cheap jap one.
  14. Rego is a ripoff. I recently looked at buying a jetski or a small boat. By the time you rego the jetski/boat, and rego the trailer. your looking at more than a cars worth of rego just for your new toy. Just a big ripoff.
  15. Mate of mine just picked up his blue GTS the other day. He let me have a go of it on saturday night. - the driving position is great, seats a great, but man there isnt much room. i only just fit (6ft, ~80kg), and my left knee rested on the console thing. and i coudlnt get my knee easily under the wheel for some heal-toe action. though i didnt spend much time playing with the adjustable seat, just slid it back a bit. perhaps there is more seat adjustment than what i found. But you sit so low! - It sounds like a boxer engine, and i now find out that this is because they don't have equal length headers......i suspect a good set of extractors will make a world of difference. - its fastish, but could do with a few more horse powers, it revs very nicely. gearbox is beautiful, properly beautiful. Except for the "pull the thing up to go into reverse" arrangement. not a fan of that. but I'm sure it works fine. - when the traction control and all all the esp crap is off......it is properly off!! I gave it a bit of an enthusiastic change into 2nd gear around a corner, and it had no problem letting the rear a tad loose. - steering has a fantastic feel, really quite firm even at speed, gives great feedback. - suspension is spot on for a street sports car, that wonderful firm but compliant feel. I know this is going to sound very cliche, but it really does feel like an updated ae86. or at least an updated version of a older n/a rwd. Not all that fast but alot of fun to drive and really gets the driver involved in the driving. He only paid $32k for the GTS one , which for a brand new car is pretty damn good. i reckon a good exhaust system, and a better intake (assuming its a bottle knock, no doubt it is) i reckon the car will come alive. oh and some sticky tyres, standard ones not that great. but as a factory car its already pretty fantastic. ...anyone wanna buy all of my stuff so i can buy a gt86?
  16. I remove people from my feed who do that. Needless to say my feed is a little empty.
  17. that isnt good.... I would pulling the thing appart and inspecting all the bearings as well. no way id drive it with the posibility of it locking up on me! edit: alternatively chuck up a WTB for a whole new diff that is in better condition. differential repairs can get very expensive very quickly! (if it is more than an axel bearing)
  18. yeah isnt the whole generation name thing jsut a way of generalising a bunch of people?....by the stupid media. I can't really find anything decent that specifies when a generation starts and stops..... Though its interesting, i think especially over the last 10yrs, technology and i guess society has changed so much, that there can be huge changes in the way someone was brought up even if they are only 5-8yrs age difference. look at the effect of facebook on the world? its basically taken over everything. can't have a conversation without someone mentioning bloody facebook, TV adverts full of facebook, every 2nd business card i see lists a facebook page over a website. and facebook has only really been around about 5yrs.
  19. This mob sounds like they might know what they are talking about. they don't mention your specific carbs, but if they can't help you id hope they would know someone who can. http://www.auto-carbs.com.au/index.html pretty close too, near wooloongabba ish. Id just give them a call eh, ask them how they are going to tune it, dyno or guesses? also how do you know its running lean?
  20. My Brother's insurnace company failed to protect him from a false claim that he reversed into him at a carpark. The other person sued via a lawyer, got a 3rd party witness from somewhere, the court ruled in their favour. The fact that there has never been any damage on my brothers car did not come into it, as 'it coudl have been fixed before inspection'. And the only witness my brother had was his mate sitting in the car with him, which of course wasnt worth anything. My brother doesnt have the ability to defend himself, has no money to hire a lawyer, cannot get time off work to even go and see a lawyer, and just had to take the hit as an "at fault" incident and pay his excess + legal costs. so he now has a black mark on his name thus insurnace has gone up $400/year. In this instance the system has favoured the person with additional money and additional time and completley screwed over the party without money and time.
  21. The carby is full of gasket goo???? Wont work with gasket goo in it. Crburettas need to be perfectly clean to work well.
  22. Yep. Only when behind a keyboard though. My latest grinds my gears is the distinct lack of puncuality from people. It seems now that we all have mobile phones, it is quite reasonable to be late, and just send a quick text to say "will be 15mins late" back in the day, if you said you were going to be somewhere at 10am, you were there at 10am, because there was no way of letting someone know you were going to be late. I'm sick of meeting up with friends and family in public places, and then my wife and i sitting in a cafe for 20mins trying to save the seats for people that have just sent a "we slept in lol, will be there soon". Latest one my wife went to meet one of her girlfriends for coffee, the other girl was 45mins late! 45mins!!!!! In my opinion, how puncutal you are to meet with people is a direct reflection on how you value the time you spend with them. if you are always 30mins late, what does that say?
  23. I think you need to realise that when you are talking about such an 'out there' engine conversion, the car that you are going to put it in has little to no effect on the difficulty of the conversion. take the LS1 for example, you are going to need, at a minimum (and at a guess, but an educated guess) -custom engine mounts -custom gearbox mounts -custom extractors/exhaust -a modified transmission tunnel to fit it -a decent EFI fuel system to keep up -wiring mods to make the thing run -suspension mods to stop it falling off the road -brake mods to stop it hitting a tree This is assuming its a legal conversion and can be mod plated (which i don't think it will be) Now take a look at hte above list, that list applies weather you are going to put your LS1 into a toyota corona, a mazda mx5, a ke70 or a suzuki sierra. When you start talking about custom stuff, thats exactly what it is, a specific solution to a specific problem that cannot be solved by OEM parts, or generally not even by off the shelf parts. you either pay someone lots of cash to think up and fabricate the solution, Or you do it yourself if you know what you are doing. I have seen an LS1 in a ke70, so if you an track down a build thread on that, then that will give you an idea of what is invovled to put it in your corona. The specifics will change, but the general amount of work will stay the same. heres one. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/59361-another-ke70-engine-conversion-ls1-turbo-pics-inside/
  24. I have to wonder how he is going to get that out! Its a Falcon, so it will have bald tyres, and it will be automatic and probably only runing on 3 of its 6 cylinders.
  25. A poor tradesman always blames his tools ;) I'm of the opinion, that it is not the equipment you have, but how you use it. if someone gets 90% of the potential out of a $50 lens, they will get better photos than someone who gets 10% of the potential out of a $400 lens. I think its good that remotely decent gear is now affordable to the average joe, why should it only be the guys with money that get to use a decentish camera? And sure we might be getting flooded with photos from this, but people are out there having a go, good on them i reckon. And in this day and age with all this social media, i think its good that you can easily get photos out into the public, show them off. Even if they are not the greatest photos, at least they are having a crack at it. Only way to get experience is to have a go yeah? I have a nikon D40 with the 2 basic lenses. Katrina bought it 5yrs ago for under 1000bucks. The lenses really are quite poor, but keep away from the extremeties of the zoom, don't ask too much of it, and you can get some really nice photos. Here is one i took the other day at QR, just the d40 with the standard 55-200? lens. A bit of colour correction in photoshop afterwards (was a cloudy day, i dunno how you avoid washed out colours on a cloudy day?) Turned out alright for an noob with the basics of basic gear. (note the rear right wheel) http://i168.photobuc...zps71f12eb2.jpg edit: as for watermarks, yeah thats a bit moronic. Unless you intend on trying to make money off the photos i can't see any reason to put more than a small logo somewhere on it. Once you put a photo on the internet, its there for everyone to copy....
