  1. I'm not sure where you would get a new pump or parts. When you pull it out, you can easily pull the pump apart and check the clearance on the lobes. Your best option will be to grab a couple from wreckers, any K engine pump will do and hopefully you'll find one with better clearances.
  2. What a beast, the backstory is even better. Never saw anything of this ilk at centre road wreckers!
  3. Sorry yeh ie 6. Still totally wack.
  4. Did you check level after it was running? Can be hard getting a reading if it just shut off. Check level again when it's cold and parked on the flat.
  5. You can select which recently closed you open when you open a fresh tab there's the "recently closed" button down the bottom and it pops up with the list like Firefox. Took me ages to find it. Chrome will install on my work pc without any admin rights! Hence that's how I first got onto it, we are still on ie5!
  6. Dude. Tirerack.com Don't even think about buying rubber locally, ship in from the us.
  7. What are those wheels anyway?
  8. academia is the same at every uni. I was a Firefox diehard until firefox died hard. I think too much prawn broke it and it just won't load up, so I switched to chrome and I much prefer it. Although i reckon it's a bit more resource heavy?
  9. I'm a Porsche man all the way. Definitely a 911 sport classic for the daily http://seriouswheels.com/2010/nopq/2010-Porsche-911-Sport-Classic-Rear-Angle-1280x960.htm Or a gt3 rs 4.0 for the weekender. http://seriouswheels.com/2011/nopq/2011-Porsche-911-GT3-RS-4-0-Front-And-Side-Speed-1280x960.htm I'm also a big fan of the singer 911.
  10. Yeh Italy driving is fun its no surprise that every car in Rome has dents and scratches. Didn't drive in Germany, France I didn't notice shades observations, but it was mostly around Strasbourg and pretty quiet and straightforward. Biggest problem I had with left hand drive was when you're the only one on the road, quiet country road and you'll inadvertently turn and drive down the wrong side for a few seconds. Night time driving on US freeways could get weird too when all you see is lights passing on your left and it gets a bit disorienting. Not sure about the rest of europe, but I'm the UK they had a lot of point to point speed cameras. The GPS actually registered these so you were always aware of it, which was handy.
  11. I looked into those pretty seriously and was going to do it, but in the meantime MSD have released a programmable 6AL that does the same thing. I was just going to buy one of them (about 450 delivered from the US)
  12. Keep in mind that what you book and what they give you will most likely change. The old "or equivalent" clause. The only time I got the car I wanted was when I booked a mustang in the us. Every other time it's been a differen car to the one I wanted. I got a brand new Camry (or some Toyota sedan) in the uk in December, pretty punchy motor. Better than the opels I've had in the past. Steer clear of the Smart 4 door, I wanted the proper smart and got that shitbox instead in Italy. I doubt you'll see many camrys in Germany hire joints though. Do not even consider different drop off to pick up locations. The online quotes are often reasonable but when you actually book it the price will skyrocket, particularly if the country changes. If you haven't bought flights, talk to Commonwealth about their gold and platinum credit cards, I just took a 10 week honeymoon with their platinum travel insurance cover. I got the horror story from my travel agent about oooooooh watch out, they're not as good as my 800 dollar premium cover, but for all intents and purposes, they were basically the same as 3rd party insurance, with some covered amounts better, some worse. As long as you buy tickets with the credit card, you are covered. You will most likely need to pay for the extra insurance cover through the car rental to make your travel insurance valid. I second the don't drive in Amsterdam, we didn't but there's no way I would do it. And gps... Always in foreign countries, makes Freeway exiting and roundabouts on the wrong side a lot easier
  13. HM headers As per my usual motto, big cam, huge comp, blow the petals off the neighbours roses as you blast past.
  14. Hmm interesting point. Although its not rollaclub specific, there's plenty of other like that out there.
  15. You'll drop a second off with the same motor in a ke10. There was an article posted up here about a bloke who drag raced his ke10. Like mentioned, you should start looking hard at your power curve and diff ratios and make sure it's matched correctly. If you havent had it dynod then you're wasting your time as well. Definitely dyno it.
  16. I dispute that it's not possible. There is ample room in the car mods guide to allow for it and last I looked there was no documented upper limit to power weight., I know plenty of sr20 1600s that are engineered and legal. It will most likely require an engineers report and likely be expensive. It is not impossible. Now where did I put that bag I was snacking from.?..
  17. My point exactly; even an 8.5% interest rate over 5 years, monthyl repayment will see you pay 30% more in total for the car. I'm sure you're only gonna get more upset, but having been the guy in the past, I understand totally why he's gone that way. I'll never deal direct again, the joy of Full Comp.
  18. How you going to weld that goodness up? I can help out if you need, I should have enough Stainless TIG rods for it.
  19. jip there is no way you have a 66% interest rate. Are you sure you're not just calculating the total interest paid against the car value? And as for the dude in sales threads, ill look into it.
  20. Haha I forgot that thread. Fortunately they never last too long. The best thing about that spelling thread is that us Mods left it to run and let the general population pass judgement. A much better outcome than Mod intervention. The Hypebeast guy was another arsehole, but all the good stuff got deleted from public view because he became very nasty. Didn't last long.
  21. Chuck it in the engine conversions section, best place for it.
  22. If you ever want to sell those rims, just make sure you drop me a pm first!.
  23. You will have to take it for an inspection regardless of the mods. They will probably give you a 'statement of requirements' which will detail all the work you'll need to do to get registered here. If you call them, there is a form you can get where you provide all the details and they can provide some info before you get here.
  24. Sounds like you already had an answer in mind anyway.
  25. Same motor as the R, but it's about 150kg lighter. Also Scirocco is FWD, but I was amazed at how well it handled. Golf's are everywhere, I like them also but the scirocco is way cooler.
