  1. Dropped all my paper off for 3 tax returns at the accountants. Should have a pile of money in the next few weeks!! GOODBYE HECS DEBT. Which is even better because now the pay I see in my bank increases a sound 8%.
  2. Can you swap the actual linkage on the carby across from one to the other? I can't recall, been a while since I looked at a stock carb. You can probably get a new cable made up with whichever end connection you like, although I've not researched anyone local. What about getting a later model cable off a 4K car, also an option. Good question by the way.
  3. Far out guys, RX3 diff must be one of the rarest diffs you could find, surely? Probably easier and cheaper to shorten a Lux diff and modify the hubs to suit 4x110. OR even better, to suit 4x114.3 so you can actually find good rims to suit.
  4. Dude, can you find me an engine builder that DOESN'T run their business like this?
  5. I run 1.75 extractors into a 2 inch exhaust on my worked, twin carb 5K. It boogies.
  6. Got my group cert - Wow I'm going to get a fat return, not even calculating for the fact that my HECS was paid off around January but the deductions kept coming out!
  7. Just to add, for reference. Tectaloy gold will be at about 120 degrees before it pops the radiator cap (that's a 90kpa cap)
  8. Checkout Ryan's rides thread, he welded in a flat panel in the back of his KE36 wagon. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/34126-slo-038/page__st__1050

Shit man I saw that on main road when I was sixteen, that's all of.... 12 years ago! It was the first one I ever saw on the road. I found out more about the KE17SL i've seen on my street...
  10. No rush, I've been thinking about rolling and lowering the wagon for only about..... 3 years.
  11. Hi mate; just quickly, sometimes you wont get an instant answer around here, the electrical forums don't get as much traffic. Anyway: Flashers need a certain amount of current to trigger , if you are having issues it might be worth checking with an ammeter. Although usually if the current is low they come on but don't flash. Also, stupid question, are they brand new flashers for that particular car? As for your dash lights, you have probably blown the fuse for them.
  12. Hard to say, it's not like you're constantly welding for an hour. I can get a few hours of fab no problem out of an E bottle. I generally run at 8-10 cubic feet/minute in the shed, more if outside and windy.
  13. Yeh that's all good PDF's should be fine, it's more the JPEGS that could be a problem
  14. I didn't even need to look at the Corona ad to know which one it is. For 93K he is clearly trying to get back every dollar he's spent on it. Which we all know will never happen. Good condition 240z's though are definitely worth more than 10-12 grand, they're getting damn hard to find these days! A 260z perhaps not so rare.
  15. I have at least one other who will be keen to use.
  16. the head would also be similar temperature to the valve stem; that's made from Aluminium, which expands at about twice the rate of steel.
  17. Horrible horrible wheels. They were popular on Suzuki Swifts back in 1997, with a choice of colours for the centre piece. There's 2 other 240Z coupes on there for 20 grand, 93 is insanity.
  18. Not necessarily - Remember that the pushrod isn't the only thing expanding. Block, head and rocker posts are also expanding, and they will probably be much hotter than the pushrod, so that's why your gap will need to be closer when cold. There's a reason the factory doesn't give you cold tappet gaps, because it's too hard. Just do it hot and get it right.
  19. Skid, moderating teams thumbs up for an accurate and detailed response to the original posters question!
  20. Was bumblin' round on carsales and came across this http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?Cr=0&R=9526774&keywords=&trecs=10&__sid=130FC90C90E5&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__Qpb=1&tsrc=allcarhome&__Nne=15&seot=1&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294966615%204294966408&silo=1011 93 grand for a resto'd 240z! What? It's not even a concours winning resto. Crazy. What else have you guys come across? And I don't mean ke70's for over a grand, although that is similarly crazy.
  21. No definitely not. Publicas generally much more square in the front end. The style line on yours stops behind the wheelarch but they generally run the length of the panel. The corner marker on publica is lower and the bonnet is much flatter. Your scuttle has been replaced with a KE10 item, you can see the bulge in it whereas the publica one is flat. Take a look at this vs a KE10 front you'll see what I mean. Looks like yours has had a lot of work put into swapping the front clip. I wonder if they are a similar platform and some of these parts are interchangeable??? Love to get a KP30 one day....
  22. Haha mate everyone thinks my wagon is a datto. Basically any small old car, people think it's a datto. BUT - I just saw your publica photo's on the front page.... Very interesting, but you realise you don't have a publica front end? It's a modified KE10/11 front end. Looks like they've done a good job. I'm guessing it got bent and they couldn't get replacement panels?
  23. On the old Porsche forums (pelicanparts.com) there's an amazing amount of dispute and anecdotal evidence for the pro's and cons of swaybars. Old 911's apparently suffer from outboard flex and camber changes under hard cornering, but nobody's produced any actual data. I was considering simply making a sliding brace and fitting a high resolution linear potentiometer. Couple that with a 3 axis accelerometer (damn every phone on the market has one now) and a datalogger, and all I need to do is a hot lap or two and there's the data.
  24. Hi there mate Adelaide wheel and rim works is probably the best place to start. There's another joint on south road across from them. It will cost you more than a good secondhand set of aluminium rims though.
  25. I had an old dude laugh when I got out of my wags... "Lad were you even around when they built that car" "Not by a long shot buddy!" I was about 26 at the time. He thought it was hilarious, as did I.
