  1. 11/100 is terrible economy but as you said, you had it tuned and 8.5 is much better and that's what i would expect.
  2. WGMG - Quotation marks. If you don't know how to use them, "please" refrain from using them.
  3. sweet I just bid on that sucker!
  4. Less grunt (factory) than a Z18 turbo, the last one of those I drove was pretty pedestrian and that was in a 1600. Probably plenty of room to up the boost though
  5. I struggle to see how halving the manifold will fix anything, you can't just push them farther apart the distance between the two halves is set by the ports/boltholes.
  6. Ports are definitely stock, combustion chambers look standard, maybe a little work but I don't reckon much. Valves are standard looking. Your increased compression most likely comes from the pistons, stock dished ones are 22cc and replacement new ones are about 9 cc, I ended up with way too much compression but got away with it by putting in a big cam.
  7. No room for a thermo. And yes, watch out for the different pulley/timing cover combo, you should be able to mark the pulley with a new timing mark though if you don't have a 3k one.
  8. Some day some day.... I'm going to get my mate to run the oil lines through his parts cleaner to make sure they're all good, then slap them in. In the meantime I've got a short shift to fit, slap some adrenalins on it and fit the ignition barrel in and by the time the lines come back it'll be good to go.
  9. new cap will set you back all of about 10 bucks, just get a new cap, rotor and points. Forget messing around with an old one.
  10. Cam IIRC the actual fan/pump pulley on the KE10 was much smaller diameter than the one on the 5K, my guess is that the original air con KE10s just ran equal diameter pulleys, rather than the 5K with 2 different diameter pulleys. Remember as you get to higher revs, the centrifugal force will counteract the tendency for the blade to pull outward due to air pressure.
  11. Ke10 pumps run a shorter neck than all other k engines, that's why its hitting. Cam You won't snap a crank, if you had it rebuilt and had it balanced you will be fine.
  12. Just get the gt40 or the gt40t. Don't get the R unless you have the Resistor.
  13. I do like it when Sellers make scathing yet subtle attacks on dumb offers. Avoid direct abuse. Best thing you can do is just let it slide and we'll sort it out. It's bad enough when someone digs it up but then 15 people jump on it and start flaming. If I see them dig up a retardedly old sale thread I delete their post and it disappears back into oblivion. Digging up old tech threads has merit though, I wouldn't encourage flaming for that.
  14. 2 identical topics now combined.
  15. Please refrain from posting up the exact same topic twice in different forums. Relevant responses migrated to your other thread.
  16. Dude, New years res was to start getting more stuff done! Been polishing these wheels for a week or so now, just an hour here and an hour there after work! Got my inline thermo switch fitting drilled and tapped ready to plumb into my radiator hose and I just need to wire it up which is easy enough, all I need to do is pull out the manual switch on the dash and run the wire back. Got my new Bilstein Sports in the 911's rear last week and then last night I got fancy and used a high pressure hand pump I expanded the crushed oil lines that run to the front oil cooler! I'm a changed man, imagine the carnage if I had that Garage built!
  17. Yep that's what I miss most about living in melbourne, having said that i never did bugger all I just liked having the option when playstation got boring haha. What's next on this rocket of yours mick, you just seem to keep buying expensive bit after expensive bit!
  18. Am I reading this right, pedders replaced both uni's and you blew it? That's got to be a warranty job there, even ripping skids shouldn't have blown one that quick, must have been done badly.
  19. melbourne is good fun man!
  20. Damn finally got through most of the nasty scratches and dings with the 120/180 grits last night. Now just to work through up to the 2000 grit then the buff and polish I'll mirror polish them for now, and I'll spray gloss black highlights inside the spokes. When the mirror fades, I'll probably just keep the lip as a high polish.
  21. oh man this thing will be cool. Pity it's a 60 not a 65, 65 front ends are cooler.
  22. I'm running twin dellortos on my 5K without a choke. When it's warm it ususally fires first hit. In cold weather it takes a couple more seconds to crank with a quick pump or two of the throttle while cranking. Apart from that, it's never really given any trouble. It will run a little shit for a minute or two on cold days, occasionally stalling, but all in all it's easy to start. BUT - mine has been properly tuned, on the dyno. If you're just slapping them on without a pro tune, then be prepared for all sort of shitty times.
  23. Vapour lock. Your fuel is vapourising in the line as the pump attempts to "suck". Two fixes, first try running on Premium on really hot days, secondly install a small electric pump at the Tank end and you should be right.
  24. Haha, all good, I've been hearing people say of a lot lately and It's driving me insane. Even on the TV people keep saying it.... Jip what the hell is this pet you speak of?
  25. ENKEI AL-Dash's, pretty cool, never seen them before. Only 13 inches but I'm putting a lot of work into them and they should come up fantastic. here's a pic of one when I bought them. All up I've spent 280 on them a some elbow grease and they look shitloads better already.
