  1. what'd you pay for the reduction gear starter and where from?
  2. What model Koni Reds are they? How well did they fit and are your springs captive?
  3. i keep getting "Swing low sweet chariot" stuck in my head, my mate at work has the lyrics stuck up on his wall (english rugby nutter) and another bloke at work keeps singing it.
  4. Yeh that's at Collingrove TOM. Cool car, I didn't see it running as the guy was packing it up to take home because it was raining. These elfins probably weigh in at 500kg with driver, so 10's could be possible. Just looked on my105.com and there's a couple for sale in the 20k realm but not complete!!! It wouldn't be out of this world to build a 5K to get into the 13's. Big ports, big cam, bored out 100thou and a shitload of compression running octane booster.
  5. No. Buy him a carton of beer and thank him for his efforts. KE70s make my eyes hurt. Funny car antics make my eyes happy.
  6. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elfin_623 Some of the old Elfin Formula 3 cars ran K engines, so it would have been spec'd to meet rules for that series. I saw one at a hillclimb a while ago it was a wicked little car.
  7. Just sent a PM about that gear mate. Let me know. TP
  8. that is WICKED!! Project car!!
  9. Price is required as per the rules.
  10. Mate i'll take that rear bumper off you if your keen! And if you're back at the wrecker next, any chance you could grab that chrome piece above the number plate!! Be happy to make it worth your while. Was there a lens in the left tail light?
  11. Mate where'd you get the rubber from? I need to get some too, I have an aftermarket window seal (the one that wipes up against outer edge of the winding windows) but it's a piece of shit, it's all wavy and looks like rubbish) Looking good though.
  12. What I probably didn't make clear: This setup will work and make you some extra power. But the same setup mounted off the exhaust manifold will make much better power. Rally cars feed fresh air into the exhaust upstream of the turbo to combust any remaining fuel which keeps the turbo spooled.
  13. Hi go baby go, Interesting concept.... Personally, I reckon it's a ridiculous idea; sorry but no other words for it. Forget the lag from the compressor to the engine, what about the fact that you will dump a significant portion of your exhaust heat in that 2 metres from manifold to the turbine. Turbo's are all about heat, the lower your inlet temperature, the less efficient you will be, plain and simple. I cannot see the point; if it's just to avoid a defect, there's plenty of other ways around it. Spend the money on making a turbo setup look discreet and end up with more power anyway!
  14. Even better. here is the LIST of the engineers. BUT before you do that... Contact the DTEI at regency park (number in the bottom right corner) and speak to them about the conversion They will send you some paperwork that you fill out, you need to put comprehensive information on what car you are modifying and what engine you're fitting, they will then provide you with feedback on what items you need to upgrade. Many of these are likely to need an engineering report. SA engineering is not the same as some of the other states.
  15. Yohan, that's good info, everyone chases up 202 lifters and all sorts of tricky crap, but gutting the hydro's and getting a longer rod sounds like a much more straightforward way to go. Can you please put up any details you can think of? - other than pulling the end out of the lifter, was there any other modification you did to the hydro lifter? Did you machine it down or similar? - do you have part numbers for the pushrods? - Got any photos? I personally don't think solids are necessary, but everyone seems to ask about it, so if I can put this up in the FAQ it would solve arguments....
  16. Far out guys, best of luck and hope you all get through it safely. TP
  17. NORTH eastern... HELL NO. haha. Magill road man that's the northernmost boundary!
  18. hmm thats an interesting issue cam, do you know which KE1x's were different, I suspect that it was the KE18's, which had all the Fine thread steering gear?
  19. I carefully read all posts before responding. I also carefully reread my own posts after posting to check for accuracy. You said that "hydraulic rocker gear is apparently very limited in respect to cam grinds..." a statement which is incorrect as there are huge choices in both solid and hydro cam grinds. My "solids for solids, hydro for hydraulics" comment was to reiterate the point you'd already made.
  20. Cleaned. Hi f.i.t. welcome to the site. It looks like towe001 has given a bunch of good info. Evan used to be the one spelling poorly and asking ridiculous questions, but these days he's a valued contributor to the site.
  21. I used these guys to move, I think they just go through the cheapest option they can find. I booked it online and it just happend, was amazingly easy... http://www.movingcars.com.au/
  22. KE16's/18's are hard to put a price on, I paid 2k for mine and it was in much better condition then, paints just gone to shit. The most I've seen one advertised for was a total factory resto'd Blue one in sydney asking 7 grand. From the pics it was a very well done resto. You've got a niche car, most people love it when they see it but couldn't tell you what it is. I've had loads of phone numbers left under my wiper asking if it's for sale. I doubt they'll ever be worth much but peoplr in the know realise how rare they are, they're just not in high demand! Incidentally, yours isn't new to rollaclub, 2007 Sale thread
  23. Gday mate I also went looking for one and had trouble. From reading up the web, fitting a KE20 one is probably your best bet, its a bigger box and should be easier to find one. I have got one myself and just need to fit it, will do a writeup on it. cheers
  24. Yeh man, It was great. My partner and I paid about 250 for a very reasonable, clean tidy 2 bedroom unit. I never would have thought to look in Leabrook/Tusmore area as it's better known for big BIG house, leafy decidious tree lined streets and a bunch of cashed up old people driving round in their bentleys but it's a bloody nice place to live, close yet nice and quiet. And I walked home from the pub a couple of times too.
  25. Guys, keep the chit chat to a minimum. Thread cleaned
