Put some water into a spray bottle and set it to mist. Open up the air cleaner and spray it into the carb gently while you rev it. Put about a litre through this way. It should be clean as a whistle inside there. A little water in the combustion is helpful, however if you get a lot of water in at once then you can hydraulically lock the motor and bend or break the internals. So just be gentle and patient while doing this, not too much at once, just let the carb suck in the vapour. The main reason you would do this is if the car keep dieseling on after you turn it off.

I'm just going to put a thin dusting of paint over them. Spoke to my fabricator. My diff is going to be finished by the end of the weekend. Then I'm dropping the struts and all the bits off for the coil overs when I pick the diff up. Once I get the diff then the shell is going to be rolling, so I will have to get the pistons into the motor and fit the motor and box combo, then do the custom tail shaft, but not before I try all the ones I have lying around. I think ke70 auto is the right spline for w57, but I don't know if much else will line up. Worth a look anyhow. Then I can put some wheels on it and get it flared to suit. Once the coil overs come back, Ill have it flared up front. Not gonna bother until the car is wearing all its equipment and rolling stock. If I can get it to the point where it can be painted before the holidays, then I can spend the Christmas break putting it all back together, wiring it and chasing down all the randoms for it.

Not really, but its as easy to work with as anything.

The ae86 steering arms fit. Its almost the same thing, xt130 and ra40 gear. The difference being the strut top, the brake caliper bracket arrangement and the brakes themselves. The whole steering box and arms, swaybar and caster bars are all very similar.
-
Ra 40 suspension is the same geometry as xt130. Suits corolla fine and has a decent brake and bolt on caliper bracket. It's the same big stub axle as xt gear. I ordered the coilover kit yesterday and its here already.

It was on ebay and I got it for $510 plus $150 freight. Right place, right time.

John Howard made all the baby boomers think they are rich because they could buy and sell property. Now people of my generation have to pay 2-4 times as much for housing. The baby boomers will have been the last generations of australians that can afford their own home. Thanks John Howard for pushing the banks to overvalue property, putting us all in extra and unsustainable debt for the rest of our lives, for making housing unaffordable. If your mum and dad don't own enough houses to keep you and your siblings off the streets then your family will never own one. And don't get me started on these people that got free education, cheap housing, cheap fuel, cheap or free land and food their whole lives and now they want to tell me I have to pay what for a house, while paying 5 x the amount to live also.

They actually have 1x ma61 koni yellow damper there aswell. Just one though, it seems odd.

My coilovers are starting to take shape. I picked up some ra40 struts with vgc brakes on them from wacol wreckers over the weekend. I have also just ordered the hsd coilover kit from otomoto with 6kg spring. Then I rang repco and managed to get sw20 mr2 rear koni yellows for $248 the pair, which is $150 off the normal trade price. Funny thing is they were a set i ordered in 2008 that I sent back, and they just sat at the stor and gathered dust from then till I actually wanted them now. So all in all a productive day on this front. I also rang my fabricator and the diff will hopefully be done by the end of the week. I need wheels and an ecu now, and I can get this thing moving.

I would argue that its the government that has put the troops in danger by sending them to other nations for military action on false pretences. Whatever political revelations that happen on either side can not undermine the fact that you are already fighting a war. This has a massive element of danger. I do not believe our troops should have been deployed in the first place. I love our troops so much, I want to see them brought home safely and immediately. To be here where we need them, to help our country remain secure here, where we are, geographically isolated from most of the world. To defend our people. To take care of our own during disasters.

Yes and I'm becoming worried that rather than keep the place great the next generation of Australians is not going to care enough to take control of things. Cutbacks in education anyone?

Also, wgmg is this whole Julian Assange situation. 1. There are no actual victims of any crimes in Sweden awaiting him, and they have no dna evidence. Its an unprecedented thing to seek to extradite someone for questioning. There are no charges laid at present due to lack of evidence, and yet the British are camping on him trying to capture him. Its actually bullshit, and the women who were allegedly victims of sex crimes, have come forward and made favourable and apologetic comments towards Assange in the media. 2. Sweden has a no questions asked extradition policy with the US. 3. The US has already prosecuted the soldier that provided info to Assange for treason. Assange just published it, just like Fox news and many other media outlets of worldwide repute and massive economic standing. They seek to prosecute Assange and not Fox. Why? Money. If they can set a legal precedent against Assange then they may well be able to successfully attack other media centres for also publishing the info. Why pick on Assange first? Because he has way less funding for a defence. Also once in custody in the US, his whereabouts will not be able to be ascertained and his treatment is unlikely to be of any quality. 4. The crimes themselves. This goes to the heart of the issue and also to the very heart of political philosophy. This is where you need to ask yourself what your government is supposed to do. Is it: A. Something which you are happy to allow to do whatever it wants as long as you can have a whatever attitude towards things. Just a big machine that executes all the legislation made and is ever growing, ever more expensive, and ever more unstoppable. B. Something which you choose to have to keep life running smoothly and in the fashion that society as a whole requires. Something which at every level, every leader is an elected representative of the people, who is elected only on the premise that he listen to his constituents and concisely represent the feeling of the electorate while executing the process of running their public office. Fundamentally, should your government be creating foreign policy, legislation, conducting military activities, and generally conducting its business in secret? If you are ok with not knowing what your governement does to sell gasoline tick here. If all he did was expose a bunch of documents that detailed a whole lot of negative international policy that was kept secret, then to me the government should be tried for treason, not the whistleblower. There should be no whistle to blow in the first place.

Yes you are! hahahaha. WGMG Went to my mums in Oakey for a family party. Jumped out of the gfs car and bombed the big hill into town on my skateboard. By the time I got to the bottom there's these 2 idiot cops with their lights on behind me. They write me a ticket for riding my skateboard. This world has changed. I used to love Queensland because it was young and free. Now I want to burn the whole place to the ground and start over without all the protectionist, prohibitionist wankers claiming they are libertarians while taking away all your freedoms. Conservative government by nature is designed to sit back and let people do their own thing as long as they don't hurt anybody. How long can we live with this complete lack of freedom before we wake up to ourselves and rebuild the system from the ground up. I'm considering moving overseas, because quite frankly, Australia does not deserve to prosper off of my hard work if this is how we are expected to live. I completely understand why Bernard Tomic took his money and fame and ʞ©$ɟed off overseas to live. Because he can and the Australian government (or little america as its known now) thinks I need to be licensed and pay stamp duty to wipe my own ass. Seriously, my tax dollars are 100% wasted on shit. Look at our budget cutbacks: Health - cut Eductation - cut Welfare - cut Social Services - cut Infrastructure projects - cut Police force - add 500 more Police. Drop the age and education requirements. If you thought Police are dumb now... Something is not right. Now we have more laws than ever, no guns to defend ourselves and more coppers than we need. They are just basically treating us like a bunch of criminals that need to be caught, and ignoring the fact that we fund this bullshit with our hard work. They have disarmed us, and now are proceeding to tighten the strings. The last time this happened in the world was in Nazi Germany and look how that turned out. We need a revolution, or we need our government to follow through on this war that's starting with the entire Arab world, so they can do the sensible thing and wipe our governments off the map so we can start again. Hey Australian government, you want me to go fight someone in the middle east? What have they ever done to me? I'm not a pawn in your game.

There was an ra40 there, yellow, liftback manual. The steel case W 50 is there with bh on it for 18r (pulled out and stored in toyota motors area) The diff is still in the car and complete. It had some sporty rear suspension on it, the shocks are still there, although old, they were some us made ones that I couldn't i.d. and they were very stiff and smooth feeling. One has a dent but they still worked amazing I think, they were something good in their day. Someone looking for some shocks should go and raid them. They used to be red, now grey with road grime and surface corrosion. I also noticed it had a swaybar, which is unheard of for an ra40. On closer inspection it was a bolt on K mac one. It had D shackles on the diff and then a bar and body mounts also. I couldnt leave that behind, if only for the D shackle swaybar mounts that suit a T series diff (might be good for adding a swaybar to t18 s1 diff also. I also took the ra struts, brakes, lcas, and steering rods, which are similar to xt130 but have a bolt on caliper mount. Makes it easy to fab a brake upgrade. Ran into Reed also, was good to say hi.

More first world problems... hahah, nah I kid that sucks. :osama:

Hello. I have had the motor turning over with the starter, if it turns out to spin too slow I have some other options too. The Y bellhousing puts it on the inlet side, but it doesnt share the starter bolt spacing with any other toyota. The closest I found was the ep82 casting. Your car looks off chops.

Really? That sucks.

Thats a great plate to get for cheap. Its a 2000 dollar one. Awesome!

But who wants wheels that fit easily? :insane:

Gonna hoard them for a while. I may do a ke20 one day, Theyd be nice on a te27 looking 20 series rolla. I'm half looking out for another pair to widen to suit. If I could end up with a full set Id be stoked. I'm also kind of into old mazdas. So might end up with soemthing along those lines some day. Id like another 323 one day.

I've had the timing belt changed, it was getting a little slack and rubbing on part of the 4af waterpump that I'm running. The metal in the way was just a cast rib at the top edge of the water pump. Its been snapped off and its all perfect again now. Also did a spanner check and found some missing engine mount bolts. Put them in and it feels super crisp again. I've also run a few loads of diesel Penrite to clean the inside of the engine (diesel oil has extra detergents to clean the shit out). I'm glad I did, it turned a lot of the sludge in the motor to a gel and it got caught in the oil filter. I even pulled off the top cover and the black scale in the head is now beginning to peel off to reveal nice silver aluminium around the edges where the sludge used to gather. So now I've changed over to full synthetic Penrite and hopefully that stays cleaner for longer. ʞ©$ɟing handbrake is out of adjustment again. I might need to invest in new pistons for the calipers some day. You just cannot win with Toyota rear brakes. I could forgo the cable and run a hydraulic handbrake I guess.
