  1. Because their sprinkler system blew chunks. The area was not wet enough to provide total coverage. Some bits wet, some dry. The owners didn't really seem to care, all they wanted was our money. The actual pan area is not that big, either. You can, I believe, hire the LVMA at mount cotton for around the $1000 mark for 4 hours. The area would be three to four times the size of Gympie, and the sprinkler system is that good you need scuba gear. This is what we're looking at for future events.
  2. Hmmmm.... Last time I was there I was very disappointed.......
  3. May I ask if you've ever been to the Gympie skidpan?
  4. AFAIK, No. Gecko71 has been through all this recently with his AE71, it might be worth sending a PM.
  5. $15K won't get you home. BTW I don't rate D2 coilovers.
  6. I know several. ^^^
  7. Size always matters. Gallant also has a size inbetween as well, I think. I used the GD one, 13/16". Swift one doesn't fit as nice, and I never really liked the one I had. (But hey, it took 15 years for me to change it.....) Haven't driven it with the new one yet though. Plus side: Swift has remote reservoir. GD is long and thin with compact tanks. Neg side: Both are worth their weight in myrrh to buy new.
  8. Can't be done legally in Qld at this time. There's no point in building a car you can't drive.
  9. What gearbox will you run? Who's going to engineer it? Never say money is not a problem, because it will be at some point. do you have access to one of these engines? They're a bit on the rare side.... Suspension upgrades? You'll want something serious if you want to keep it on the road. Brakes? See above. Have you got a tape measure out yet and found if it physically will fit? Realistically, how much can you spend? How much work can you do yourself? Can you register it with it? What shafts will you use? Engine mounts? Seriuosly, it'd be easier (cheaper?) and more fun just to buy an S2000. I don't think you have a hope of carrying it off. If you do, I will cheerfully eat humble pie.
  10. Well, actually I've had Suzuki Swift, and now GD Gallant. Split tanks so if one system craps out, you still have something to play with.
  11. By all means change it to a twin system (a very good idea...) but i can't see the point in a booster on a sub 900 kg car, when even "Big brakes" aren't even that big. I've had a 25 for nearly 20 years andd never felt the need.....
  12. An even better idea would be to contact Transport to find out what is allowable, and go from there.....
  13. Looks like you're waiting until you're off your P's. No conversions allowed for P plates.
  14. Having children, or doing homework?? I thought you did the homework then had the children. :D
  15. Dude, all the very best to you, Mrs Taz and the little one. Call him something like Ichabod until you come up with something better. :y: Welcome to the world of Dad-hood.

  17. I'm thinking of getting one around my wrist, under my watch (work reasons) stating "This too shall pass...." as a reminder notice.
  18. Waaaaaaaaaay too stiff for a daily. Stiff doesn't mean effective. You need movement in the spring, to work with the dampers to provide a means of keeping the car connected to the ground. Too stiff and the car skips over bumps, therefore, car isn't connected to the ground, therefore steering and brakes aren't as efficient. Softer springs and good dampers mean that the car rides over the bump allowing the wheels to stay connected to the black (or brown) stuff. Listen closely here to Uncle Dwarf: More isn't necessarily better. I have a 55 Hardtop which had 200lb fronts in it, and won the Silverstone Kilcoy Road Rally outright. My tarmac set-up in the 25 has 225lb springs in it. Anyone that says you need heavier has never driven a truly well set-up car. Don't skimp on shockies. You get what you pay for. A pair of $200 shocks may sound expensive, but when you compare it to Bilsteins or Konis, they're pox. When you compare Bilsteins and Konis to Pro-flex or MCA or Ohlins, they're now only good enough to hold open a tailgate. Buy the best you can afford. Don't believe all you hear on forums, go and talk to some professionals in the matter. Be prepared to spend money. You'll thank yourself for it.
  19. How much money do you have? (serious question.)
  20. Dear God..... don't get me started on names!!!
  21. *********************Media Release************************* Redwarf Motorsport Signs Future Champion. Redwarf Motorsport is pleased to announce the arrival of the 2027 Australian Rally Champion. Johanna Elizabeth Dwarf appeared yesterday just before 1500hrs, weighing in at a healthy 9lb 7oz. Johanna was sourced from the ever reliable Demon Tweeks catalog, page 152, "Future National Rally Champion, various colours, nationalities and genders available." Bucking the trend for the ever popular Scandinavian male variety, the choice of the streamline female Australian version has surprised some. Team co-owner Mr Dwarf said "Well, to be honest the Finnish version is just too expensive, and the lead time is horrendous. We were able to pick this one up for a fair price, and the lead time was only 9 months." Special thanks must go to the service crew at RBWH birth suite, for the pre-delivery servicing, and the quality during event care. The other Co-owner of the ever expending Redwarf Motorsport empire, Mrs Dwarf stated that "The delivery would have been far easier if she'd taken that damn white helmet with the dark visor off….." Wearing a spotless white race suit, boots and gloves, Johanna (who strangely only answers to the name "The Stiglette") had no comment to make. *************************Release Ends***********************************
