  1. It's called fraud. Do it bad enough, and they send you to prison.
  2. Actually, with a bit of practice it's not that hard. The big bummer is traffic lights. Reduction starters are your friend. :jamie:
  3. I'm trying to remember if that's the same as the one on Brian Shanahan's (from Bendigo) KE25 Sprinter. (His is a genuine import one....)
  4. I feel your pain. Been there, done that, except mine usually involve a tree in there somewhere as well. I though from the first photo: "You can save that shell....." then I kept looking. :) The positives of a re-shell are that you can do things better than you did on the first one. For you that would mean going from the berserk to the unbelieveable. ;) Chin up. From the drivers side view it almost looks like a sprinter. :jamie: I
  5. Correct. Can't have it breathing to the atmosphere. Must be plumbed back.
  6. Dude, you're not listening. The very first policeman that sees you towing a car trailer with a KE70 will rip you (deservedly) a new arsehole. As previously stated the maximum braked trailer you can tow with a KE70 is 750kg total. 400kg unbraked. You CAN'T tow a car and trailer with a 1000kg KE70.
  7. No. Just..... no. Towing a car trailer with a Ke70 is just asking for biblical amounts of trouble. Not to mention being very illegal. You're saying that you want to tow a 900 kg sprinter, but the trailer will weigh at least 500kg. (anything up to 900kg for a hire trailer) I have a very light tandem, and it's 525kg. Thus you're looking at minimum 1400kg. Given that the braked towing capacity for a KE70 is 750kg, this is not going to happen. Towing rule of thumb: The tow vehicle should be around the same weight as the item you're towing. Go and buy a cheap Falco-dore to tow with. They're cheap, fairly comfy to tow with, and you won't die a horrible death the first time you descend a mountain range. Either that, or tell us when you're going to tow, and I'll stay home that day.
  8. House: *tick* Kids (x2): *tick* Turning my Pajero in for a new one because it's now 6 years old. : *tick* 18 months time (when it's out of lease) turning in my wifes Mk5 Golf for a Mk6 GTi : Should be getting the *tick* Have three rally cars: *tick* We're not all 18 years old with a part time job at maccas.
  9. Nope, you would need to take it to an authorised engineer.
  10. If they are non standard seats in the car, they will need to be ADR approved seats, and will require an LH1 blue plate. Conincidently I'm getting a blue plate tonight for a car with different seats, so I'll ask the question to what exactly you need.
  11. Leave the nut on a couple of threads, and bang the wheel with your hands on alternate sides of the wheel like you're having a tantrum. Should loosen it enough to pop off. Always leave the nut on a coupe of threads, so if you're yanking towards you, you don't head slap yourself with the wheel.
  12. Gday Paul, Stick this up in the Wanted to Buy section. Fo a KE 20, you need a bonnet off any of the 20 series cars. Other models wont fit. R
  13. Had a AE10x hatch. Problem with them is that the child restraint bolts to the panel below the tailgate, making boot space limited. two in there would have been impossible. Wagon rule IMHO. They're like the Tardis. Cheap Commo wagons are a really good option. Currently have an 03 DiD Pajero for me, and a Mark 5 Golf for Mrs Dwarf. Child restaints on the Golf are on the back of the seat, thus you don't loose boot space. However most hatchs are like that these days. Just remember if you want to go old school, you usually have to have child restraint points fitted.
  14. Wow! No, really. Wow! It takes a fair bit to impress me. Let's face it, how can you NOT be impressed by that??
  15. No, certain types of hydraulic oil are not compatible. Not just the above.
  16. Also make sure that the oil you are using is compatible with the seals in the strut. Some hydruaulic oils will EAT the seals......
  17. Oh, like the one I sat in??
  18. Juha is my personal idol, but you just can't deny the unadulterated testicular fortitude and total lack of personal wellbeing that Ari had. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gula1SZ9HYs
  19. Not bad. Cheating bugger has somebody sitting next to him. Wouldn't have seen Ari do that, too much weight! *sigh* Ari, they broke the mould after that bloke.....
  20. No, not really. 5ES should be fine. I used to run 5 or 6's in mine, and it was a warmer engine than yours. I wouldn't waste your money on the other ones.
  21. SA has the same rules as Queensland. Therefore this should be true:
  22. Ah.... I see. Give him a break. He was thirsty.
  23. From the Transport Operations (Road Use Management—Road Rules) Regulation 1999 Therefore, legally, they can use one.
  24. Hard to find one that hasn't been anally penetrated by a previous owner. A bit like buying a second hand WRX. I really have a soft spot for them, but soooo hard to find a good one.....
