  1. I actually have one of those in my car atm. I have a 4.33 Borg Warner. The cost is still $250 as of 12 months ago. It works fine when you drop the clutch in both wet and dry conditions. Cornering is another story.....It tended to do single spinners quiet often until i worked out how to drive it. Off road works fine. It seems that the grippier the road is, the worse the "product" works. Having said that, i would still recommend it. Its more usable than a locker (for everyday use) and it beats the hell out of a stock diff. Pros: -Cheaper then LSD -Lasts for 2 full years of Rallying before the springs need replacing. (as stated by the maker of the product). So for road use, it should last quiet a while. -More usable and disguisable than a locker. :P -Easier on Tyres Cons -Prone to single spinner wheelies....until you work out how to drive it.
  2. My fault, no worries.
  3. Most people that i know (in Australia) call them Borg Warners. I have two spare 4.11 centres, one is standard and the other is locked. Most of the manual cars came with 4.11 (i think) and the autos have 4.33:1. But as Red Dwarf said, they are everywhere. The following is an extract from the wiki Wiki Borg Warner KE5x and 7x Corollas in Australia had Borg Warner differentials, you can't change these centers as easily as in a Jap diff. KE5x have 6" ring gears, KE70s have 6.38". Apparently some KE1x cars had a Borg-Warner type diff as well, limited info available on these. KE20s have Borg Warner diffs from when they were made in Australia. All KE25s were imported, so they all have Jap diffs.
  4. Top Work. Thats a lot of carburation you got yourself there. Sounds mean too. Is it just me, or does it sound like its got a BOV? What else has been done to that motor?
  5. i'll tell you tuesday night after mine comes off the dyno. ;)09
  6. You mean a "Wing Nut".
  7. Lets hope you paint the bonnet the same colour as the car. :D Why do people have black bonnet's? don't get me wrong - i'm not bagging you, but i just don't understand why people have a nicely painted car, and then they chuck on a matt black bonnet. Once again, this is not critisism but rather a query.
  8. If you have changed diff ratios, that will through it out of calibartion. Possibly the spedo gear inside the gearbox is the wrong gear for your combination. The business below manufactures a product (box with gears - i think) that is placed on the back of your speedo and then the speedo cable plugs directly into that. They can mix and match gears within the box to get the correct ratio that will give a correct speed reading. This is tested by a handheld GPS within the car (from what i understand) Unit costs about $250. 9. You must be Bill's son right? Welcome to Rollaclub. Glad to see you got the engine and gearbox swap done.
  10. I used to have a dgv weber on my HOT!! 5K and it was too much. I had it professionally tuned on a dyno and the final result was that the chokes were too big. But, i am always willing to be proven wrong - I suppose it can't hurt to try it. Anyway, Twin SU's are my new best friend. :P
  11. Is it possible that the fumes are coming through your firewall. Years ago with a standard exhaust, i had a manifold leak and a flange leak. I found that a lot of the fumes came in through unplugged holes in the firewall. I simply put grommets in the holes. The hole where my gear shifter came through the tunnel was also not sealing well - so fumes used to sneak in there too. I just put a few more screws into the metal plate that holds the rubber boot in place. My car is a sedan incase its relevant.
  12. An extract from his bellhousing section. "To have a custom part like this made would be well over a $1000 US. After the favorable exchange rate of the US to AUS dollar it ended up costing me only $281 US! What a steal! " Shame its not the other way around.
  13. I got a 5k, 5 speed, 4.3:1, 175 70 13's and mine does 3200 at 100km/h. I have got a jap diff conversion coming up in a few months. I vaguely remember my source telling me that it was a rare 3.7:1 ratio. Maybe i misheard, and that it's really a 3.9:1 - i'll find out. I'm just sick of changing through 3 gears before i get through an intersection, and the fact that i do allot of highway driving.
  14. Except for the filnames that all entitle woman somewhere in it. For example, Womancop or Tahoewoman1 etc. Sure they could have been altered, but i think its more likely that Mikey has just saved them with the default filname from the website he got them from. Just my opinion anyway - Or maybe i just want them to be Women drivers :D http://bblmedia.com/women_drivers.html
  15. Bingo! Yep its the under 2lt sports sedan class. I'm not exactly sure what motors the Corolla's run, but i don't mind saying they are not the quickest of cars on the track, nor do they sound really ballsy. That doesnt deter me from watching them anyway. Racing along side them are normally Gemini's, Alfas and Dato's
  16. Is that Flared Enough?
  17. I realise you saw the earlier pics, but heres the link to some more pics. You sounded pretty interested, thats all. BTW, the pink and blue HQ in the 2nd pic, is the bloke who built my 5k (Eddie Woods from Head Stud Development). http://vmrc.com.au/?item=12780
  18. "Belt Grip". It comes in an aerosol can. Just spray it on the belt and pulley. When it dries, it becomes tacky. We use it on the Drill Presses at work, and it works a treat. You may have to try a few different Hardware Stores to find it. Generally the shops that sell more expensive tools stock it.
  19. Arrghh Dammit!! I'll never get to bed at this rate.
  20. Hi Mark and Welcome to Rollaclub. Its good to see we are getting a few new members. All of them have been from the better side of Melbourne too, right John? :)
