  1. I think the "T" gearboxes bolt up to 4ag motors. "K" boxes don't. Besides, "T" boxes are stronger and will bolt straight up to a 4ag motor. It doesn't make sense to change down to a weaker gearbox and spend more money making it fit. Thats how i understand it anyway. Correct me if i'm wrong guys. *EDIT* There you go. Jamie just beat me to it.
  2. Thanks for the pics. They give me some idea of what direction i have to head now.
  3. I thought Xany already told us what it came off - Or was it on something else before the Falcon. (just trying to get up to speed on why everyones still guessing what car it came off).
  4. Thanks for your opinion and suggestion TRDke70. I had a hunch it was the rings/bores. I was in two minds whether to drive the car straight away or run in the cam. I chose the cam method and i still buggered it up. Ohh well, we live and learn. As for the sump. Have you got any pics. Its no problem for me to get the metal and have it welded. But I would just like an idea of what goes where in relation to the location of the baffles.
  5. Ok, here i go. I used thin oil to run it in from memory. Not sure what blend - but it was thinner than 20-50. I started it up and ran in the cam (you know the drill). Engine temps got up to high 90's - it was bloody hot. At the time i was told that wasnt abnormal, considering it was a worked motor and all the internals were tight. It had a noisy lifter from day one. Kept driving it anyway. A few days passed and the noisy was BAD!!. Adjusted tappets and couldnt get one of them right (still noisy). Engine came out. It was buggered lifter which took a lobe off the cam. It seems a dodgy push rod caused the problem. So, the whole top end was replaced (new push rods, lifters, cam, threaded adjustable thingys). Run in was undertaken as per normal reccomendations. Similar to a procedure that someone has linked to here before. People have suggested that the oil usage may be related to the buggered lifter causing premature wear to the valve guide. Possible i suppose. I personally think its the Rings. Just a hunch i guess. I'm still yet to do a compression test. Gotta get my twin SU's setup before i rip the engine out anyway. *EDIT* I am seriously interested in buying a baffled sump if anyone has got one they want to part with................TRDke70 hehe. Did you do the work yourself or do you still have the contact for the person who did the work?
  6. S1 pb was 1:28.(something) that was months ago. then i lost my setups:doh: S2 pb 1:31.(something) - I just can't get my head around the right setup at the moment. Although i can do consistant 1:32's for 10+ laps. The tyres don't come on till around lap 3-4 - which is generally the length of a complete race anyway. Too little, Too late. If your having drama's connecting - try "manually" disabling your firewall. I found that if i don't do it manually, then the game wont connect to the servers.
  7. I'm not sure everyone wants to hear my story in this thread as it may be a bit off topic. I can PM you Xany if everyone prefers.
  8. I've run every sort of oil. My 5K basically used oil from day 1 (don't ask). I Started off with 20-50. Then went thinner on a reccomendation from the local auto parts shop. Then the engine builder said NO!!! - go thicker. So i went straight 50 blend. Same problem. I ran out of straight 50 blend, and it uses a 0.75L/week so i just top it up with 20-50. The engine is coming out soon anyway. The brands i used were Pennzoil and Penrite. Is there anyone that actually has a baffled sump, or know of someone who makes them. I'd even settle for someone that can do something with a standard sump.
  9. I'm pretty unfamilar with the area, so that is a good idea. How long do these events normally run for?
  10. I'm running a hot 5K with a standard 5K sump. The engine is coming out in a month or two (its only 8 months old) to have it honed and new rings put in it. So i will tell u then, what sort of state the bearings are in. However, i have an aftermarket Speco Oil Pressure gauge and have noticed under full acceleration that it flickers from 70psi right down to 0psi. This only happens under full power and whilst moving at around 60km/h and over. I wasnt sure if this was just a glitch with the sensor, or if the gauge was actualling telling the truth. Maybe i'll have to look into that. BTW- The gauge is the Electrical sensor type, and Speco brand. Its only 3 months old and has been giving these readings since day1. Before this gauge, i had a cheap mechanical sensor type gauge, and it never gave low psi readings under full power. The last thing i need, is to pay for a full engine reco again. sob
  11. I just raced Teddy. It's official, He's the "Drift King". Heres Teddy in action - LOL. *Editted Out Whitespace
  12. LMAO - Some mothers do have 'em.
  13. Yeah i think its a good fun game with some good drivers. It makes for some nice and close driving. Ohhhh and yeah, the drifting can be fun. Till you pop your tyres that is. :)
  14. Download S2 Demo ALPHA 0.5L Full There is a Download link to the main site OR there are a few other mirrors. Its all on the page i posted a link to. BTW - I'm normally on it later tonight and have the nickname "Dazza". [email protected] is my MSN thingy, so u can look me up sometime this evening.
  15. I've been playing this racing Simulator for a while now and think its a great game. Are there any other Rollclub members that play this game or are interested in playing it? If so download the demo here- http://www.liveforspeed.net/?page=s2demo I usually join one of the optusnet servers, as they are mainly Aussies. I would love to have a race with fellow Rollaclub members.
  16. The pink race car is my fav. Looked like a huge turnout anyway. I hope someone got some pics of all the Rollaclub Rollas. I just noticed the closeup pic of the yellow wheel on the pink car is missing a wheel nut. Its on a trailer anyway.
  17. I'll kick it off. My name is Darren, and i'm from the Dandenong area. I drive a 1974 KE30 2 Door Sedan.

  23. Sorry Guys. I thought it was fresh topic. Checking back over the dates - i realise that it isnt.
  24. I would tend to agree with that too. I was helping a workmate work on his Alfa Sud the other day, and he had a similar carb. The oval shape at the top was also similar, if not the same. Walking through the wreckers a few weeks ago, i noticed that most of the Alfa's and Fiats have downdraft webers that looked very similar to yours (except for more hoses and linkages of course). I was planning to use one of these carbs on my 5k, but someone pointed out that alot of these carbs are for pollution style engines. I'll try and find the quote and info he gave me. Anyway here is a list of what Carbies the more popular cars came standard with. Toyota even got a mention. http://64.233.187.104/search?q=cache:tFpOJ...eber+carb&hl=en
