  1. Heres the proof :(
  2. This might shed some light on the answer, then we can put this topic back to bed. Its seems nick might have spot on here. Answers
  3. Any chance of a pic of both your air filter, and the top of your carby. I had to stuff around fitting a piece of PVC pipe as a spacer between my aisan carby and weber airfilter to ensure that it cleared the accel pump lever arm. So maybe i might be able to think of something.
  4. Welcome to Rollaclub. This sounds like Teddy's area of expertise. Is the lighter threaded on the back behind the dash. Some items are bolted in place.
  5. These extracts were taken from this page Tuning It actually for a weber/dellorto, but i assume the theories are the same. If the engine stumbles when you open the throttle, it could be a pump adjustment, but it could also mean a main jet change. Pay attention to STEADY throttle position when testing in these areas! It's easy to confuse the two. If the main jet doesn't solve it, try the pump. If it runs good at 3000-4000 rpms and stumbles elsewhere, your main is right and the problem is somewhere else. Try to do main jet testing from 1000 RPMs up to 4000 or so. This eliminates the accelerator pump issue from your testing! Spitting/sputtering/cracking is an indication of being too LEAN. Now, what RPMs that it's doing this tells you which jet you need to change! 2000 RPMs and lower, and you need to richen up your idle jet (go bigger). 2500-4000 RPMs and you need to richen up your main jet! We want as little accellerator pump squirt as possible to remove the stumble from the engine.
  6. LMAO - I read the first line "Vacuum Erection Gauge" .....WTF haha i get it. I guess i wasnt expecting it with this topic being in "general discussion"
  7. I would take punt and say, that is the idle mixture screw. This however wont solve your driveability problem.
  8. The idle adjustment screws normally contact the linkage itself. The idle mixture screw is normally around the base of the carby (not sure if i'm already telling you something you already know). Maybe you could refer to the pic in FAQ to determine which screw you are talking about.Nikki Carb
  9. While we are discussing bore sizes. My 5k has got 82mm Gemini pistons in it. I think that would be bordering on the max piston size?
  10. Happy Birthday Jamie. A Hilux would make a great B'day present - even if you have to shell out for it youself.
  11. Time to invest in a Car Alarm/Immobiliser now. Glad to hear he got it back.
  12. is that the real definition of it? I've always just known it as Hawtalta - The place with cool clips :(
  13. This car looks familiar :( Jet Powered MR2
  14. I read the first paragraph and thought how much shit can one person speak to sell a product. I'm sure the product is great, but the sales pitch used is crap. How about the pic at the bottom of the page. Trying to blame sagging steel for causing that.
  15. Not to be nitpicking here, but can someone fix the spelling in the "Topic". Its a Corolla.
  16. Also on another side note - There is a hot 1971 ke26 wagon on the hot fours website. You have to be a member to view the pics and i'm not sure if they are in the mag. Heres the link anyway. ke26 Rolla
  17. I used to have one in my road car too. I thought it was Great (not for doing wheelies, but the opposite). Sure it can be a but rough in carparks - but i only had 13" 175's with rock hard tyres on the rear and a stockish 4k. It was more predictable than an open diff, so i always knew what it was going to do. So in some ways, it could be deemed to be Safer. Except when at a red light and you have to move for an Ambulance. Then your RHS axel decides its going to break at that inappropriate time. :) There are people for and people against. I guess it comes down to how tolerent you are.
  18. I probably should add that "Perspex" is the same thing as "Acrylic". Perspex is just the brand name of the major manufacturer and supplier. The product is called "Acrylic", but often mis-quoted as Perspex. Very similar to a Ball Point Pen being called a "Biro". This doesnt change much in relation to this discussion, but i thought i would add it so people arent mistaking Perspex and Acrylic as different products.
  19. I found this bloody funny. Its a First Person Shooter game fanatic. BOOOOOM, Head Shot Boom
  20. They are not bullet holes - "They are Speed Holes" :D
  21. LOL - Anyone try and slide it along a hand rail? I can see a "Funniest Home Video" moment there when it snaps and shatters.
  22. Cha Ching $$$ Not sure that i would want to drive it on the road anyway. 400mm-500mm max of car between me and the person rear ending me.
  23. I work as a shopfitter and use this stuff all the time. The stuff we use is actually called "Acrylic". Same stuff though. It will take a bit of punishment (scratching and flexing). But your main problem will be in the fixings. Its breaks so easily in the weakened areas. Clear is the Cheapest (but technically thats not really a colour). I personally would be thinking twice if it were going on my car. To work with it properly, you need a SHARP saw, and not just a circular saw or hand saw. You'll smash it in no time if you try cutting it like that. You will need a heat gun to help in bending the Acrylic into shape. Drill and drill bits (the drill bits have to bluntended off with a bench grinder - Not so much blunt, but less pointed on the tip). For your use,the fixings can't be tight either. If the Acrylic can't flex around the fixed areas because its bolted/screwed down tight - then it will simply crack. It might work out cheaper to just make one in aluminium I'm not trying to steer you away from this application - but just be aware of all the possible draw backs.
  24. I tried that search and came across this link. LOL - An 11kw 3K Theres a couple of pics of old school Rollas too. Toycrazy Dyno Day
  25. Nope - Not in many years. I used it 10 years ago when i had dial up. Then switched over to "Pirch". Then progressed onto "ICQ" and now "Windows Messenger". Having said that, i don't chat anymore.
