  1. The exhaust from the extractors to the diff is how it went through engineering. Its starting to make horrible noises and is showing signs of how hot these exhausts really get. The big muffler i have to quieten it down, is all heat stressed and starting to crack. So the cars booked in Tuesday to have a new system put on it. From the extractors, it will continue as twin 2" Pipes. Under the gearbox and then into a 2" Rotaflo RFR200 resonator on each pipe. Then into a 2.5" coupler before the diff and 2.5" over the diff. Finally the rear 2.5" Rotaflo RF250 muffler will be staying with the droop tip. Hopefully will still be quiet, whilst letting it breath alot better....and most importantly the rattles and vibrations of the collapsing muffler will be gone.
  2. On Micks advice......Heres the result :P I havent road tested it yet, but it didnt seem any different from the short driveway runs.
  3. You can see it in the pic above of the regulator. Its bolted to the intake manifold....same place as standard. I grabbed a vacuum canister on friday, but am yet to plumb it up. I have to move the alarm siren and i've got a severe case of the coombies.
  4. This is the bloke on eastlink in the Territory yeah? I think his cruise control wouldnt disengage. But still.....I would be doing all i could like rubbing it along the gaurd rail to slow it down. In the end he simply ran out of road, jumped a roundabout and slowed down by jumping on the brakes. I was told some cars lock out the gearbox selection whilst moving. I know the receptionists astra wouldnt let you out of park unless your foot was on the brake, and the ignition was on. Maybe some lock you out of putting it in neutral whilst over a certain speed....especially if the cruise control is activated. My brother was saying his SV6 Ute's handbrake doesnt work while your over a certain speed.
  5. My drive home took me 2hrs instead of 1.5hrs. I thought i'd get off the freeway and go for a nice leisurely drive along the beach.......not realising that the St Kilda festival was on. So it ended up as a half lap of albert park instead
  6. Can you tell I prefer 4's and Rotaries? :)
  7. Will do Matt. I just filled up my POS and it got a chamois clean this morning after the rain....so its as good as its going to get :)
  8. Awesome. I'm enjoying that bottle of Makers Mark you kind people gave to me, so i'll have to drag myself away from it and get an early start if I man up and tag along. I will probably go to the BP meetup and look out for Matts car, as i read its going to be a mini car show there too with all the meetups.
  9. Is everyone still going rain, hail or shine? I have been toying with the idea of tagging along. Are there anymore details on it? Simply park your car (if you get accepted into the show) and walk around....or are you expected to hang around and leave the car open for people to have look. Entry fees etc?
  10. Have you had it running yet? I'm keen to see how the ASI Rad performs as thats probably the next upgrade on my list. How do your brakes feel after the conversion? I found mine to be rather shite with little bite and a hard pedal. I'm looking into vacuum canisters at the moment, given that my old 5k had around 160psi of compression and a healthy 12a is ~100psi.
  11. Register on Ausrotary. Heaps of awesome parts pop up in Adelaide all the time. As for wiring... its not that hard. I managed to wire mine up correctly, but got a Sparky to clean it all up. Its alot easier if you buy a cheap written off donor car so you can study it. You can use S1 RX7 Extractors. Just cut and shut them. Alternatively, you can still buy the exhaust flange and go custom with mandrel bends.
  12. *Bookmarks This Thread* Yep stock as they come, with a restrictive exhaust and 48DCOE. You have 12 months before the next GOR Trip, so get cracking. don't forget to put a little cash away on the side for the fuel bill :)
  13. Thanks. I think he's a converted man. He was talking about a possible KE25 Rotorolla in future. Keep reminding him of it, and it may be a happening thing one day.
  14. Shivers is the one i was thinking of!! That was doing my head in. I did notice you put a huge dent in that bottle of JB when I got up in the morning :)
  15. Some R31's run Steelies all round. I'm not talking the interceptor style....more like 12 slotters, but in steel. They bolt up to a KE30/55 without spacers. You may want to run hub centric rings though.
  16. I've used Dandenong Rebores in the past, and were happy with them. They offer all of what you asked for. Its been years since i've tinkered with Pistons, so give them a call. I had my 5K cam reground at Wade Cams in Oakleigh. It was ~$100.
  17. There were a few songs that Lee and the guys played on the guitar Saturday or Sunday night that I hadnt heard in ages. I was just on Youtube trying to recollect what they were....but my memory sucks. Can anyone recall what songs were played? Its really bugging me now because I know I liked the songs, and you did great covers.
  18. Big Thumbs up to Jarrad, Tate and Ben for an awesome weekend. Was good to put a face to all these usernames after all these years of being on here. Were you guys still at Waurn Ponds at 2:30? I passed by on my way back from Torquay and thought I spotted some faces.......but i had a head full of exhaust fumes and was keen to keep moving. The rolla got a huge driveline vibration and some wicked backlash and the final stretch, but I cruised along and made it home in one piece. Total tally so far in fuel reciepts is $240 for 1200kms :D
  19. I bought a strut brace from them a few months back. I called up and the bloke was more than helpful. I made payment there and then, and the brace was delivered 2 days later.
  20. Was there a time decided upon for the todd rd meetup?
  21. I'm in the process of packing the car....then i'll be off for a blockie to make sure the rear tyres don't scrub with all this weight in it.;)
  22. I had my KE30 insured for $4k with all of the above, (ground up restore) custom interior, sound system and a worked up 5K. The redbook value on a stock KE30/55 is about $1600, so without paying full comp agreed value.....you'll only be looking at $1600.
  23. I have them on my '74 KE30. They are not that rare. I see them at the wreckers all the time, and have a few spares in the shed.
  24. Todd Road works for me. Would be a good chance to top up the tank :hmm: Don't even get me pondering how many tanks I will go through. My only fuel consumption tests have been what and that resulted in just over 200kms from a tank.
  25. Looks like i'm in for this trip  I got all my camping gear out and I reckon I can sqeeze it all into the Rolla...including the esky. Hopefully the apex seals hold tight until after the trip..... I'll PM you now Jarrad about money.
