  2. Shit! sorry Mick, its under the house and i forget about it... next time mate.
  3. Ha! I like this Doug, bee alot of work tho. I got the stainless for free, my bro picked it up from a worksite scap pile for me ;) same for the insulation. My only costs were: angle grinder blades Cheap paint Arc welding rods And a few hours work. I've actually got a front ended ke10 here with a good back I'm umming and arring about at the moment. better than scrapping it. I'd love to do a mk1 cortina one, real nice like. Cheers for the comments, Scott.
  4. I've been meaning to put this up for months (since Australia Day) I had a BBQ at mine for Aus Day/JJJ hottest 100. Imagine; Snags, nice sunny day, 14m water slide and some cold drinks straight from a ke70 Rolla Esky! I started with a wreck I got for nix a few years back, cut it in half... I then Grabbed a diff from a ke30 and welded it directly to the Chassis rails, got rid of the bump stops, no need for them. Painted it in Australian colours (can job + 20mins = dodgey job) but on strict time schedule. Filled it out with 140mm thick Industrial insulation used in cool rooms, and a Stainless steel floor. Covered all the sharps with rubber, left the seats and part of the roof on for a relaxing place to sit, in the shade, wheeled it round the back and this is it! Half full of drinks Me, dressed for the day with my esky Success! Held a 100+ drinks and around 5 bags of ice. the ice stayed frozen right through till the next day. Named it the ROL-SKE (read as Rol-s-ke = rolla esky) I was tempted to get plates! Oh, and I only had around 5hrs to built it and very very little cash, hence the dodgey job but it worked a treat. ;) Cheers! Scott.
  5. Nice looking '30 mate, 2 doors are the way to go. Love the pepperpots. Scott.
  6. there are lots of options... if your interested in 14's i have a mate that will weld you up a set to suit ke1x for $250. pm me your email and ill send ya some 13inch options. scott.
  7. how bout this shit then?? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Lower-or-Raise-your...1QQcmdZViewItem
  8. this could easily be in the Jokes section. 5 INCH LOWERING BLOCKS!! http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Lowering-blocks-5-h...1QQcmdZViewItem :jealous: :D :hmm: obviously for 4wd's etc but how could you drive?? Scott.
  9. Sweet! personally it wouldnt make any difference to me, if i had 16's i would have had them on...
  10. yeah, and when you're repainting you don't have to worry about the inside :faq: Nice looking ride, are they the same TRX rims you got now?
  11. Ill think you'll find just having 16's on a ke30 is illegal unless you get them engineered and certified...
  12. As far as engine size goes: don't quote me on this but i think anything less than a 25% increase in capacity just requires an engine change form. No inspection or anything... give transportSA a ring and let us know :monkey:
  13. Hey man, I just replied in my old thread about the motor. But if you want a cheap fix i might have a head you can chuck on. I've got at least 4 in the shed in various states, one of them may be a 3k. definately got a 4k one if you want to chuck some forced induction on... Scott.
  14. looks like you got yourself a little bit of a business going here Thomo...
  15. I would have been interested but my best mate was involved in that Skyline cruise accident last weekend. He's lucky to be alive, now i wish my ke11 had airbags...
  16. Hey all, I'm in the process of getting all original interior into my ke11. I have some of the original half bucket seats the material seems to be ok still but the stitching has come undone. Can anyone recomend somewhere to get it done? I don't really want it retrimmed just restitched. Id prefer south of the city if its possible. Thanks, Scott
  17. HA! i did this exact thing in my ke30! i changed it from auto to manual and i used one of those switches to operate the reversing lights. was easier than hooking it up to the manual box and it meant i could put my reversing lights on when ever i wanted. was great fun at night. tidy looking dash. Scott.
  18. Cheers! :) I think you'll find its close to an original colour. I painted it myself, i think its actually a holden colour :) , can't remember off hand. I'm glad you've decided to fix it up rather than sell it, and yeah, keep the pics coming. don't be deterred by rust, alot of them have it by now... long live the ke1x!
  19. ahhh! the kermit ke10! glad to have ya here dude, welcome to rollaclub.
  20. ahh... well there's a good point. all the tops i've dealt with are from later models 69 onwards... maybe someones replaced the passenger side at some point with a cut one? have you still got your leaf spring in? check here: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=7433 I'm pretty sure the ke10 one is standard. the springs should sit in fine. I thought the "little thing" on the ke20 top hat was too small and thats why i welded the spacer too it, but its possible it may be ok. does it contact with the bearing when put together? if it does and it rotates well then its good to go. Scott.
  21. It been resprayed. just needs a clean and maybe a polish. I have a 400m dirt driveway and to keep it looking good i have to clean it twice sometimes 3 times a week :)
  22. i put up a quick spring comparison here: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=7433 You sure doug? I used the ke20 ones in my ke11 and it looked as it the spring seat wasnt going to rest on the bearing inside the strut top. Its true you could use any spacer i just used the ke10 part as i knew it was the exact right dia etc. scott.
  23. Very nice. I havent seen any this colour before, is it an original?? As i said, Welcome to Rollaclub, bring on the ke1X's!!
  24. Because i just put 14's on I thought Id better lower the front another Inch. This mod should be done with Doug's strut insert mod as seen here: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=7224 This is what I did. You'll need ke20 or ke70 "top hats" (not sure if its the technical name but the bit that sits ontop of the coil and below the strut tops. Here is the ke10 verses a ke70 one. (ke10 on left) I then cut the top off the ke10 top hat and welded it to the top of the ke70 one. so it looked like this: Just so you know, ke20 strut tops can't be used in ke10 strut towers without making holes, this way the ke10 strut top can be used with the modified ke20 top hat. so effectively i shortened my stut assembly but the difference in the two shown in the first pic. It does unfortunately shorten the shock travel and thats why doug's insert mod is a good one to do with this. I've has the stuts in my car for a week and am very happy. please feel free to give you opinions. cheers Scott.
  25. Seeing I happened to have a set of all these springs in my shed I figured Id post up a pic to show the difference btween them. The ke10 ones are on the right, ke20's in the middle and ke70's on the left. They all have a overall diameter of 125mm The ke70 and ke20 coil thickness is 11mm, the ke10's are 8mm. The ke70 and ke20 are very simular, the ke70 just having more rotations and that flat spot on the bottom. Their simularities could lead one to think that you could use ke20 coils to lower a ke70? get lowered ke20 ones and you'd be set! no cutting required. Scott.
