  1. top job with those seats too man, look real good. Thats one thing i don't have the patience for...
  2. Hey myles, just found this thread, looks like its coming along, not all that dissimular to my current ke10 project which i plan to chuck a thread up about soon. I'm the same when it comes to having cash, i prefer to do it myself anyway as its feels good and its all about learning. I just finished one of my front 1/4 panels today back to bare metal... wasnt as hard as i though, definately seems to be the way to go... Keep us posted on your progress. Cheers, Scott.
  3. Nice write up Doug. Doug convinced me to get a whiteline swaybar and i would never drive a ke1x without one. interesting about that rt40 corona one, ill look into that...
  4. Many, if any, rollaclubbers down Victor Harbor, Goolwa way?? I moved down to Goolwa this year and just wanted to know if there were any other Rolla freaks local... Cheers, Scott.
  5. Dave, I did this exact thing to my ke30 years ago, I got it done at Industrial springs on Port Rd, as Mick mentioned. I took the leafs off and took them in. they reset them 1.5" which made them just on legal ride height (they had sagged a little) and it cost like $250-300. I also got an extra leaf added for stiffness. Although! In hindsight i would go with the inverted leaf eyes as Slapper mentioned as it keeps a bit of arch in the springs. My reset leafs sit flat and the ride is... ok at best. then if it isnt quite low enough just chuck a small spring in on the top of the pack, this would also stiffen it up and reduce tramp. cheers, Scott.
  6. Sean, Try get in contact with a bloke called Nathan, think he was "ke1500" he did simular mods to his ke15. I remember him discussing it with Stewart Ford a few years back. got quite technical... he's here in Adelaide too. Good luck with it, let us know how you go. Scott.
  7. Yeah, not a bad idea there shaun. I recon we could get some rolla freaks out there so you gemmi owners a thing or two  Everyone loves a cruise thats already organised :) Scott.
  8. Nothing to be ashamed of there! Plently of potential. Incase you didnt know, the 4 doors are extremely rare in Oz yours and the one Gav was selling are the only two i've seen... Good job with the project thread, ill be keeping an eye on that one. Welcome! Scott.
  9. Plenty of rota rollas about, it can definately be done... All i would suggest is that a NA 12a may not be torquey enough in the wagon. My bro put a 12a in his mazda 626 and it wasnt all that good. my 2c. so yeah, how much cash you got?
  10. Jip was the one doing that. I would be interested though. Its an interesting story but i doubt it's true... I don't even think it would be worth the effort. If it was true, he could maybe get like $6 grand for it if he was lucky, but no one would pay any more than that. would they? Scott.
  11. I think the ke3x/5x swaybars may be a little wide for a ke2x, Mick you could probably check this easy as couldnt you? I did this to the rear of my ke30 (late ke55 diff). I used a second ke55 swaybar with the mounts cut off and the U-clamps that usually clamp the swaybar to the diff... Hard to explain, i have pics somewhere if anyone is interested. It seems to make a little difference, could be done a lot better, i was just experimenting. Scott.
  12. I've tried the flipped leaves method (not all of them) and i've had a leaf pack professionally reset and an extra leaf added (cost over $200). If i was to do it all again I would go the inverted leaf eyes. Its cheaper than resetting the pack, it seems to lower the car a fair way and it keeps the same arch in the leaf springs which would give a better ride. chuck one more leaf in too while you at it. My reset pack sits flat and the hangers, which i believe are supposed to be vertical, are way out. If it isnt low enough with the inverted eyes, go with the built in lowering blocks on your diff idea oh what a nissan feeling mentioned (I remember seeing this on that famous te27 built on the web) and I think he's on the money with the tramp too by the sounds of it. Scott.
  13. don't worry all, everything is sorted. I was just worried my ke10 wouldnt be able to be rego'd cause it has a 4k but it all went through! got a legally registered ke10 - 4k!! wow!
  14. I need to know for sure if the engine number on a K motor starts with a K or not. I mean does it say K-89768590 for example?? NOTE: needs to be a K motor, not 3k, 4k or 5k just K. I need to know what it starts with and how many numbers and letters in total. Thanks! Scott.
  15. Yeah, nice clean car mate, looks immaculate. Top photos too :P welcome to the club...
  16. I get looks from a fair range of people, good point about the bus stop... I get a lot of young drivers hanging out the window etc. basically anyone with an old modified car. besides other rollas, dattos and mazda's mainly. and even mini's sometimes...
  17. I think you'll find ke10 control arms are unique to the other ke series, being that triangular shape. I assume all ke1x arms are the same length? I think that was discussed once before... I'm running a whiteline swaybar and its awesome! but did set me back $200 though. I tried looking into bars to swap from other cars but gave up. let us know if you find one! ...i wouldnt mind a rear bar.
  18. As mick said its definately a long way from "bolt in". There is always more work than you first think. the ke11 i had with the 4a had a custom firewall! I know this is not necessary as i've seen the conversion done without modifying the firewall but it gives you an idea of how close a fit it will be. No interested in going with a 5k? thats more along the lines of a bolt in job.... you got any pics of the '11 yet? I wanna see em :lolcry:
  19. I paid $170 for mine with a coil and am very happy. $128 is fair.
  20. I know of someone planning to put a sigma turbo motor into his ke25. I wasnt that keen on the idea, but yeah, he has all the bits so I think he's going to do it...
  21. Adelaidian with a ke11 aye!? got any pics? I've owned a ke11 with a 4ac so if you got any specific questions send me a pm. cheers, Scott.
  22. You need to talk to the guy here in adelaide with the 7k ke15. Races it in classic adelaide. I believe his name is Malcom?? Mckiggan? Doug, shed any light on this? He was on oldcorollas, anyone got an email? he knows everything you would even need too. If your real keen i could go through my archive for a contact address. Scott.
  23. Damn you and your ke collection Gav! Is there anything you don't have or havent done?? Very nice mate. Jealuos man right here :y: Feel free to start a webpage with all your cars and progress :hmm: Scott.
  24. don't know if it will help but I have a listing of all the ke10 codes. I wont take credit for this as I found it on the net a few years ago. (maybe toymods?)
