UPDATE! I got all of 1 day to work on this over Xmas. I've now got the roof and LHS rear 1/4 ready for primer. Roof before: Roof after: Rear 1/4 before: Rear 1/4 after: I've also sourced a shitload of parts for it. At this stage I'm thinking of using: Keeping the 4k (found out its a dished piston) Factory Sprinter twin downdraft carbies (with factory air filter) Extractors Sprinter Tacho dash Full original vinyl interior I'm still chasing a few parts if anyone can help out: 1 pair of std height ke1x front coil springs seat rails for front seats (mine have been modified) I've also got some "custom" number plates for it which I shall reveal at a later date Cheers Scott.

Where abouts you located champ. You in Australia? There are always parts out there... Because these cars are getting harder to find, if the rust isnt too major you should have a go a fixing it. Its more than likely the spare doors and panels people have will have a bit of rust in them anyway. Cheers Scott.

Wow, thats out there... There would have to be a reason that you couldnt do that, wouldnt there?? TOm He must have a full ke20 xmember in or something. I'm not hugely familular with the ke2x but don't they only have 2 bolt at the bottom of the strut as apposed to the ke1x having 3? you would have to change the Ball joints, LCA's and Xmember as well.... then all the steering. I think Sean (aka rollin_ stock) did something like this but with 280zx coilovers Cheers Scott.

Arent you just running headers? there goes the neighbourhood... :yak: Good luck at work, that would be the worst thing knowing you're soooo close. Scott.

Scotty! You're a changed man! I can't believe I'm hearing this... I agree to though, especially with an example like this. But I think you should lower it a little. Benefit of a car like this is if you get defected you could actually get it through regency.

Some people keep the leaf in, some people take it out. I leave it in myself and do mods to the struts to get it to sit low. But i always run a K series motor. If you're doing a V6 (which is crazy and now you've mentioned it you'll have to start a thread in the rides section with lotsa pics) then i would keep the leaf in. although you will obviously be doing other suspension work... and because you have the swaybar you could possible remove it. Keep us posted Scott.

NIce Haydo! I know where a corona same as this is out on Mill road towards Waitpinga Rd... unless this is it... Looks like an easy respray. Scott.

Rolliac has done it the same way I did on my ke11. It fits BUT when you have ke30 calipers (or ke70) and turn full lock in either direction the caliper fouls on the swaybar. It will still work, just limits you steering a little. Whiteline obviously did there product testing on a ke10 with drums (or possible the sprinter discs as they're smaller). I found the problem I had was if you did turn the wheel full lock and the caliper fouled then when you go to use the brakes again you have to pump the pedal a few time to get any pressure. Never bothered fixing it. There is a way around it which requires welding a larger piece of angle to the lower control arm to space the bar away from the caliper. I've seen pics on rollaclub, ill try dig them out. Cheers, Scott

That was hard to read but I think I understood... More info on the sprinter, looks like a good project. Welcome to rollaclub Scott.

I had the same thoughts with my ke15. hubcaps or period race rims.... I think the race rims are the way to go with the sprinters. what parts you chasing? Scott.
-
Nice.. you did well to grab that, was a good deal. well done. Get some more pics up, so we can see how much work your about to do! :P Scott.
-
how does a dent like the one in the dash happen?? was it in a head on and someones knee hit it or something?
-
WOW! coming along very nicely. Detailed... Got any before pics? Interested on the cars history, had it long? Looks shit hot mate, keep the thread updated Scott. Edit: ha, we wrote basically the same thing at the same time ke70-From-Mt-P

Thats terrible mike! Sad to hear that sort of news... She was one of the greats.

Tom has done a write up on this here http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?tit...sing_KE2x_parts Also, he hasnt mentioned it in there but depending on the year of you're ke10 you can remove the leaf and seperate the second leaf from it and them replace it, which will help lower it a little without removing it completely. I did this in my old red ke11 in my signiture pic. (although i did cut 1 coil out) Cam is spot on about the swaybar though, I wouldnt drive another ke1x without one! Must have. Cheers Scott.

So you have more power than when you took me for a squirt the other week? yikes!
-
Awesome, keep us posted for sure! be some people keen on those bushes if they're easy to chuck in. Cheers Scott.

Its funny how you started a new thread to get away from the pointless ramble but its right back into it again. Those before and after shots were impressive on the repairs. You do it yourself or get it done? I like the originality of this car, wont see one like it anywhere else... Scott.
-
Mick, your getting strong on the ANTI whitewalls mate... Awesome ke25 you got there! where did you find it??? looks like there isnt much to be done to it but keep the thread going anyways. Scott.
