  1. Yeah. As I said it was a long time ago that we did this. I know for certain a new wire was run from the starter to the dizzy, coil area. What it hooked up to at either end I dunno now :(
  2. It was 20 years ago, but my KE35 had starting issues. The coil or dizzy were not getting enough volts to fire up the motor. We ran a wire from the starter to the coil/dizzy to supply 12V during starting. don't ask me where from and to as I said it was over 20 years ago now but it solved the problem for us.
  3. If your that worried about it there a a couple of options. grab a few different speedo gears from the wreckers and suck it and see use your GPS to mark the speedo at various points for 40, 60, 80, 100, 110km/h use a speedo corrector as above. Talk to an instrument repair place. May be able to recalibrate your speedo
  4. Stupid ʞ©$ɟing Achilles injury. Not supposed to be doing any activities or putting any strain on it. Tell that to a family of young boys.
  5. Mine did this when I did the same conversion. Didn't stress me. Liked the look on peoples faces when I was doing "130km/h" on the freeway :)
  6. Cable ties fix this though ;)
  7. Measure up the old ones and take your tape measure to pinch a part and hunt away. For example, cut down HZ Kingswood springs will fit onto KE20 struts.
  8. Shit - we got a Jesse
  9. don't need em, just make it solid :P
  10. That sucked. Both my missus and me are school teachers and every name we came up with reminded us of some little shit from work................ Got super hard by the 5th bubs.
  11. Shit I missed Cogs Carnival. Things like that were good weekends. Look out for Stapo's Khanacross worth doing.
  12. Rips up that paddock nicely. More fun that using the plow :)
  13. Ok guys, Ive done a bit of digging and found this thread. Anyway, I need some advise. I am having trouble breaking spokes on the trike I built. last race we stopped counting at 42....... it cost us the race. I have decided to rejig the wheels and go for a BMX tyre and rim. This is the issue. I currently have 32 hole drum brake hubs, and I am looking for a 16" BMX rim to suit. Can find plenty of 36 hole rims, but not the 32 hole rims I am after. If anyone out there knows where I can source these rims, it would be great. I'd even consider getting a pair custom made if it worked out cheaper than replacing everything I have currently.
  14. Well, could hide it in the roll cage............... ;)
  15. No LPG - they sorta nervous about pressuriswed fuels, and dodgy school intallations ;) Can run EFI though - its a thought I had while I was teaching electronics........
  16. Working from 8am Saturday to 2:00 ish Sunday arvo and being awake longer. Makes doing simple stuff like typing fun................................
  17. Yep standard Facet noise. Deal with it. Rubber mounting will help deaden the noise a bit.
  18. Found the "idiot on the mountain bike". Great chat saturday Luke, hope you liked what you saw - any contibutions gratefully accepted ;) Well after 24 hours of hard racing, the team finished with 2nd outright on track and second in class. Also awarded second in the overall class award that includes the race result, and the results of two presentations. Now off to sleep and then think about how to make it quicker next year..............insert evil laugh
  19. Will do, just gotta work out why the cranks have decided to lock up solid :abuse:
  20. Missed out on pole. 53 thousandths of a second off pole, but only qulaified third :(
  21. Well, managed to get through scruiteneering without an issue except for not having yellow triangles showing where to lift the canopy........................ Presentations are out of the way and firing up for qualifying tonight. Fingers crossed it will be Pole for a third time in a row :)
  22. Ta mate. Always nice to hear that someone likes it. Makes the hard work worth while.
  23. 1 Week to go the the Energybreakthrough. This time next week we will almost be half way through the race.................... Anyway, here is a quick peek at the beast.
  24. Felt my 20 handled better with a softer rear spring pack. I had all but two leaves removed. Worked well for what it was used for, reduced the oversteer that it had on dirt.
  25. Had a Nokia 5110 which would fall out of my pocket when I was working 4m off the ground. Swear, drop the cherry picker back to the ground and put phone in pocket with no damage. Lost track of how many times that happened. That phone survived floating down a creek, dropped from great heights, chewed by a dog and still kept working. Only repaced it when the replacement cost of a battery was more than a new phone :(
