  1. What lifters are in the engine - hydraulic or solid?
  2. Stay with a hydraulic cam. Sooo much less stuffing around, and with a regrind you will have more than enough revs for the street.
  3. Seeing some of the "quality" work that a certain big name brand puts out I'm not surprised......
  4. Work.... Customer wants a rear view camera for his ute. No probs, give the details to the spare parts dept to order and book the guy in to do the job. Guy arrives, give camera kit and car to mechanic. All good. BUT.... Mechanic comes in a bit later saying there is no harness for the factory camera, or screen in the dash. OK, no probs call customer and apologise. I am then informed that the mechanic has already drilled a hole through the tailgate for the factory camera. Mmmmm, this makes life harder. SERIOUSLY - spare parts how f..King hard is it to check a f..King VIN number to see if the camera fits the f..King car. Anyway, a day and a half to do a two hour job and a camera kit that cost about $300 more than the quote to do the original job in total and we had a happy customer.
  5. Well done mate. Always a bonus to be able to drive home. Your a lot braver than I ever was to go that far without the car being on a trailer.
  6. Starting to sound like a Jerry Springer episode :P
  7. sorry, I'll go and sit in the corner now................
  8. I thought I said 3kb carbs... 5k's love a cam change. No need to change to solid lifters as say you have to. The club car I had would spin to 7500+ rpm with the hydraulic lifters.
  9. not here either. you would think Id get one out of the five to do it :( back on topic. my combination was: 5k 3kb carbs (if you can find them) compression port match the inlet manifold extractors and 2" exhaust electric fuel pump electric fan up the ignition timing (approx 12 deg btdc) with this in a KE35, you would go hunting Commodores and Falcons
  10. isn't a rim job where you hand the youguns a bucket of soapy water and a sponge and tell them to go clean your wheels........................ :?
  11. What are you going to use it for and how will it be driven.......... A mate killed a 9" diff in his Falcon while a relative made an Opel 4 speed and HR diff outlast 3 worked 202's (the last one was a serious motor) in his FX.
  12. Look around for a 5K, so much more torque than the 3K. Throw in a few simple mods and you will be happy. With the bonus of being bolt in :)
  13. Shame it's soooo hard to find a decent rwd Rolla.
  14. Maybe they should of forked both the Fords onto the flat top and dropped them of at the scrap metal yard :P
  15. mmmmmmmmmmmm Different I suppose. Like to see the reaction at the Summer Nats :hmm:
  16. No pics, but we had a similar set on a KE20. Looked OK. That was until someone decided to steal them off the car..... On a dark coloured car, clean them up and powder coat them white or a contrasting colour and they would look sweet. PS. I had to chamfer the centre bore of my RX7 alloys to clear the front hubs of my KE20.
  17. Damn - prices have gone up......... Accident repair, change of color respray with multi colored pearl cost me a slab back in the day
