The 225's I had stated the minimum rim width was 6" That said, I could feel the sidewalls flexing. But on that car, 75% of the rear suspension was in the tyres so any give was good...........

Used to run 225's on a 6" rim. If you can't fit a 205 your not trying...

after 140,000 km I'd be throwing a new set of shocks at it before changing springs. Wouldn't touch springs unless they are obviously sagged or you want to lower/raise the car.

If they are alloy, and being Hotwires I assume they are, I wouldn't . Welding alloy wheels is not a good idea. Have seen wheels break after being welded to repair cracks etc.

wtf - never seen that before. neither of my 5k's had that on the sump. Maybe an oil level sensor but looks too low. wont need it in the KE38.

Suppose rwd with a locker helped it spin around ;) there were some tests that I wouldn't have to move the steering wheel much, I just used the throttle to steer the car.

Never bothered with a hydraulic handbrake. Standard jobbie worked well enough

This was the first step along the path of modding most of the major components on my first Corolla, a KE35. In order of time, sorta....... The above wheel painting, widened standard rear wheels, modded accelerator pump linkage and spring, full re spray in red with a couple of different coloured pearls thrown in the clear coat, set of jelly bean mags, tachometer added to dash where clock was and all gauge needles painted the same color, lowered front end, 5K motor, modded 3KB carbs, decent exhaust, twin anti roll bars, lower suspension further, 5 speed, bigger rear tyres, modded guards to suit tyres, new front panels, etc, etc. I know I have forgotten stuff, but that is the major stuff.
